About the Role
As the Senior Communications Officer (content) in the Public Engagement Team, you will be passionate about the rights of young people in the UK. Using your creativity and experience in delivering public-facing communications content and fundraising content you will be instrumental in increasing Depaul UK’s income, profile and influence. Your ability to meaningfully engage and involve young people, staff and volunteers will ensure that their voices are heard and amplified through Depaul UK’s communications and fundraising activity.
You will lead the delivery of communications and fundraising content that increases brand awareness and engages our target audiences to support Depaul UK as donors or in other ways support the organisation. We will expect you to ensure that your content and brand awareness raising activity is consistent with Depaul’s values.
Working closely with internal colleagues as well as external designers, filmmakers, photographers and other agencies, you will actively engage with young people in our services and in the communities we work in to capture their experiences, amplify their voices and develop content and material for our communications and fundraising activity.
Key responsibilities include:
● Take a lead role in the delivery of Depaul UK’s creative content production that strengthens our profile and allows us to raise more funds for our work
● Coordinate the Content creation of the whole Fundraising and Engagement team and draw up a Content Creation Strategy in conjunction with colleagues, ensuring you are closely linked to both the needs of Public Engagement, Philanthropy and Partnerships and the wider organisation.
● Work with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver content briefs
● Interview clients and craft compelling written stories to support our messages and campaigns across print and digital platforms.
● Produce video and photography content to support our messages and campaigns across print and digital platforms.
● Work closely with external design agencies and freelancers to support the production of key organisational print and digital materials ensuring high quality production that meet brand guidelines
● Be an advocate for the brand and work with the Head of Communications to ensure brand guidelines are adhered to across all content.
About You
You will need to have the following skills and experience:
● Experience in interviewing case studies and creating compelling written and visual stories for a variety of audiences.
● Knowledge of video production and video editing software Premiere Pro
● Experience in using brand guidelines to create content
● Experience working with and managing external partners and freelance photographers, filmmakers and designers
● Experience working with socially excluded or vulnerable people
● Experience in analysing complex information and then summarising and presenting it in easy-to-understand content
● Experience in delivering a wide range of high-quality content
● Excellent project management skills, with an ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver to deadlines
● Willingness to work variable hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

Job Overview
The Video Editor will be responsible for post-production edits of video deliverables. The candidate must be a visual storyteller, capable of delivering compelling and engaging stories about the IRC’s response to emergencies and crises and the people who are impacted.
This position reports to the Associate Director of Content, collaborating with the Sr. Video Editor, video editor, freelance editors, and producers on editing and delivering video products that will be used for major integrated priorities and campaigns for all marketing efforts and audience segments.
Major Responsibilities
● Deliver finished video for various platforms and distribution needs, which includes editing together raw footage and audio, photo stills, graphics, adapting archival video, and versioning
● Collaborate with Content team, Creative & Content Studio, and stakeholders on creative idea pitches, and deliver on creative briefs
● Source broll for video projects, campaigns, external vendors and partners via internal library and paid footage
● Onboard vendors/freelancers/agencies
● Searching for stock music tracks based on references or direction

Job Requirements:
● Portfolio of work, including short-form social media videos, long-form documentary style, commercials, and/or fundraising appeals, etc.
● Use a variety of technical skills and software to complete production, including Final Cut Pro Adobe Premiere, and After Effects
● Experience in sound design, color correction/grading, video quality enhancement, and/or graphics/animation

Job Purpose
Save the Children is looking for an ambitious and driven media professional with exceptional project management skills to develop and lead on Save the Children's media activity in Scotland, as well as line managing and supporting the senior media managers in N. Ireland and Wales and supporting them to implement their strategies.
The role will involve developing and driving the media and communications strategy in Scotland to support fundraising, policy, public affairs and brand objectives. You will also help create materials and social media content for Scotland's communications channels. The scope will cover Save the Children's Scotland, UK-wide and international work.
The role will also line manage two senior media managers – one in Wales and one in Northern Ireland. You will lead and support them to deliver effective media and communications plans, while ensuring strategic co-ordination across the devolved nations and with the Save the Children UK office in England.
You will be highly organised and persuasive, with a good knowledge and understanding of child poverty issues and key political debates. You will have experience as a news journalist or in media handling, and a strong track record of success in obtaining media coverage in a variety of outlets. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to manage competing priorities under pressure. You will have demonstrated the ability to manage or support others to achieve results.

Main Accountabilities
The Media Lead – Scotland's key duties will be to:
• Develop and implement a media and communications plan for Scotland that will deliver proactive and reactive coverage in support of Save the Children's influencing and fundraising objectives.
• Lead and manage the Senior Media Managers in Wales and Northern Ireland to develop and implement their own media plans. Provide them with technical and strategic guidance.
• Map, build and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors, commentators, opinion formers, bloggers and documentary makers in your media market.
• Write compelling and hard-hitting media briefings and press releases focussing on Save the Children's work in Scotland, to influence policy makers and key stakeholders.
• Cultivate and harness the skills and expertise of colleagues – especially programmes and policy teams in Scotland - in our media and communications work, including by launching products like reports and coaching media spokespeople.
• Respond quickly to relevant breaking news to achieve cut through for policy calls.
• Identify and support children and families to tell their stories in media and communications, ensuring that ethical standards and best practice are maintained at all times. This includes children and families supported by Save the Children in Scotland and those fundraising or campaigning for our work.
• Protect Save the Children's reputation, developing and implementing crisis management media strategies and rebuttal as required.
Person Profile
• Experience as a news journalist or in media handling, and a strong track record of success in obtaining media coverage in a variety of outlets. Experience should include strong examples of developing strategies and obtaining significant coverage on own initiative.
• Demonstrated the ability to manage or support others to create plans and achieve results.
• Excellent working knowledge of the media environment in Scotland.

About You:

About the role:
The Head of Marketing and Communications will focus on developing and implementing the marketing and communications strategy. You’ll lead a small team and be involved in the creation and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy which aims to increase iCatCare’s brand visibility, and support income generation. This is a great time to be joining this small but mighty team. As well as being the “expert” on all things Marketing & Communications, you’ll also sit on the Senior Leadership Team having the opportunity to help shape the future of this impactful and ambitious organisation.
The Head of Marketing and Communications will also:
- Develop and deliver social media strategy and content for iCatCare channels.
- Ensure that all marketing assets are on brand and in-line with the organisation’s overall marketing objectives, strategic plan and messaging.
- Build and deliver iCatCare’s communications calendar, driving reach and depth to support the charity’s objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation on content & ideas to promote the various programmes we run.
- Line Manage the Social Media Officer and Digital Marketing Officer, offering support and guidance as necessary, and ensuring their Learning and Development needs are met.
About You:
We’re looking for a skilled marketing and communications professional who has experience in a role within PR, marketing, communications or another similar area. You’ll be a strategic thinker, who can develop and execute plans with measurable outcomes. You’ll also be an expert communicator, editor and proofreader who is also a strong relationship-builder. iCatCare operates across numerous stakeholders internally, externally including their membership so you’ll be adept at stakeholder management within a collaborative and non-hierarchical organisation.
We are looking for a talented storyteller who can support growth strategy around the charitable side of iCatCare, so while it isn’t essential, some experience of working within the sector would be useful.
