Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Trustee Board, as CEO, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, managing operations, and overseeing the overall development of SHARe Knowsley’s services. You will lead fundraising efforts and oversee the charity’s budget to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of SHARe Knowsley. You will lead a passionate and dedicated team of staff and volunteers, ensuring that our programmes are effective, sustainable, and aligned with our mission. You will also play a key role in building relationships with local partners, stakeholders, and funders, as well as advocating for the rights and needs of asylum seekers and refugees, promoting a positive and inclusive organisational culture.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a passion for social justice and human rights. You will have a proven track record in a management and leadership role, preferably within the charitable or not-for-profit sector. Ideally, you will have experience of working within the refugee, asylum, or social care sectors. You should be a strategic thinker with strong financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build partnerships and influence at all levels. A compassionate and values-driven approach to leadership, with a commitment to social justice and equality.

About the Accelerating Reform Fund
The Accelerating Reform Fund is a new initiative which aims to transform social care services, making them more responsive to the needs of the community. It is a national programme, with 42 regions allocated to have their own projects. Greater Manchester is one of the ARF regions. The ARF has a particular focus on unpaid carers aims to boost short-term breaks for carers and improve hospital discharge processes. This work is made possible by Department for Health and Social Care grants. As an organisation, Gaddum has supported and collaborated with unpaid carers for many years, so we’re excited to bring our experience to the table. Support Worker (Substance Misuse)

You will be providing one-to-one and group support to men who are overcoming substance abuse issues, helping them to achieve their personal goals in all areas of life (behaviour, health, housing, employment, faith etc.). The Engagement and Activity Practitioner (EAP) will work closely with the children and young people in the care of TACT foster carers across the North West. The Engagement and Activity Practitioner will facilitate opportunities for participation by organising, and, attending, events and trips that are in line with the children’s interests, developmental stages, and abilities, inclusive of children with additional needs. The Engagement and Activity Practitioner will continue the development of the children’s buddying club, for children to meet on a regular basis and share their views, ideas, and interests for TACT as an organisation to meet their needs.
Overall Duties of the Engagement Activity Practitioner will include:
- Being an accessible point of contact for the children living with our carers and to our young people, keeping them up to date with the facilities and opportunities available with TACT
- Supporting interventions and activities to ensure stable placement arrangements
- Being able to transport children and young people to events, appointments and meetings (mileage reimbursed)
- Organising and participating in virtual and face-to-face events and occasional residential meet-ups
- Managing all paperwork associated with events and activities
- Willingness to work flexibly, according to deadlines and needs of our families
- Undertaking trauma-informed direct work with children and young people
The main role requirements for this role include:
- A formal qualification in working with children and young people
- Experience in a paid or voluntary capacity of participation, advocacy or direct work with young people

This is a key period of growth for our Charity, with the delivery of our new strategy and exciting capital and activity Masterplan in the pipeline. The post-holder will lead all of our of Charity operations at Winchester Science Centre including;
- Visitor experiences (including customer services, exhibition, retail and catering)

Working alongside the Chief Financial Officer, the post-holder will deputise for our CEO from time to time representing the charity to external stakeholders and partners.
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) will be a commercially astute and visitor focused operational leader who possesses an entrepreneurial spirit. Through their inspirational, values-based, and collaborative approach, they will always look for new opportunities to innovate and drive growth.
The post holder will bring their wealth of experience as an operational leader with a proven track record within a large visitor attraction to provide expert knowledge to lead a large and diverse team to success.
The COO will be an integral part of the SLT to support business planning by translating the vision, goals, and strategy for the Charity into operational and business plans. They will demonstrate strong financial leadership helping to provide best value and deliver on agreed targets.
Key accountabilities
- Delivery of Commercial Objectives – Drive the commercial performance of our visitor centre, growing revenue whilst managing costs.
- Strategic development - As a member of the leadership team, the COO will play a key role in supporting the CEO with the strategic development of the Charity, bringing a commercial and operational mindset. The COO will attend Board meetings and other Trustee committees.
Main responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the commercial operations team to enhance business performance and standards whilst driving efficiency
- Deliver effective, empowering and engaging operational leadership across a large and diverse team of over 80 people
- Lead on the commercial operational strategy and translate strategy into actionable steps for growth and increased impact
- With the CFO manage all aspects of commercial operational risk including reporting and monitoring
- Manage and deliver transformational change through a period of significant growth
- Closely manage income and expenditure targets for a turnover of over £3.5m ensuring best value is delivered for the Charity.
- Represent the Charity at various offsite meetings including public speaking
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to set and drive organisational vision and support the strategic direction of the Charity
- Ensure that the commercial operations teams activities are aligned to the Charity’s sustainability strategy and plans

Location: Phoenix Youth Centre, Preston Manor Road, Epsom, Tadworth KT20 5FB Phoenix Centre Tadworth, but working across various locations in East Surrey as necessary
Annual leave:Starting allowance - 25 days plus Bank Holidays. Please note that school holidays are key delivery periods and annual leave is not usually agreed during these periods.

Main Responsibilities:
· To help assess the needs and strengths of the referred young adult and help them identify individual goals to achieve desired change
· To deliver early support/targeted group interventions which aim to improve mental health and well-being, build on existing strengths and increase levels of resilience
· Record and collect data with various tools such as Outcome Star and Session Feedback Questionnaires to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
· To take responsibility for own caseload of young adults, some with complex and multiple needs, with support from senior EWMH staff
· To help involve project participants in the co-production of programmes, activities and services
· To be proactive in connecting with other agencies who can provide activities to support Step Forward sessions
· Attending networking events and meetings, online and in-person, to promote Step Forward
· To work collaboratively with Surrey CCGs, GPs, local CYPS and adult mental health teams and other community-based services to provide the most effective service for young adults and reach targets set by partners whilst keeping within the YMCA values of service
· To keep accurate records of individual engagement, evidence of change and celebrate progress with participants
· To record and report the appropriate data to ensure the project can be accurately monitored and evaluated
· Where appropriate, to apply safeguarding and child and vulnerable adult protection procedures
· To organise and provide written case studies as evidence of the effectiveness of individual interventions and activities
· To work as part of a team and attend team meetings, training events and participate fully in one to one, peer and group supervision
· Support summer activity programmes with partner group WAVES with supervising young people off-site
· Planning, organising and running summer activities for Step Forward participants
· To take responsibility for Youth Support Workers, volunteers and colleagues volunteering time to the project, taking charge of a staff rota and ensuring guidelines are in place and updated regularly to ensure best practice
· Outreaching to external volunteer workers and communicating closely with HR
· Any other duties are required to be performed within the grade and renumeration of the role
· We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults. This role will require an enhanced DBS disclosure (with barred children/vulnerable adults). We require you to understand and demonstrate this commitment and attend any required training
