School Partnerships Associate Jobs

We're looking for two experienced bid and/or fundraising professionals to join our team as Bid and Fundraising Manager (internally known as Development Manager) on a permanent basis.

You'll be responsible for the development of a portfolio of donor relationships and will work across all parts of the proposal process from prospect research all the way through to submissions. As Development Manager, you'll work alongside the Associate Directors of Development to support their work in leading a range of funding opportunities. This includes central government contracts, local authority bids, corporate partnerships, and grants from trusts and foundations.

This is an exciting time for the Development team, as we are looking to diversify our income streams to support Ambition Institute’s mission in tackling educational disadvantage through evidence-based, high-quality professional development for teachers and leaders across the country. We are ambitious about what we can achieve over the coming years and how the team can fund Ambition’s work.

We would like you to:

• Contribute to and deliver successful strategies for securing funding opportunities, pinpointing key differentiators, understanding funders’ specific requirements and ensuring those are met 
•  Support the Associate Directors to develop, maintain and manage the pipeline, using research, analysis and planning skills. 
• Formulate and script high-quality bid responses and create high-quality proposal documents
• Work cross-organisationally to identify and assemble a team of SMEs (internal and external) to scope, define and capture the information required to prepare funding proposals 

Working in a hybrid way, you’ll be attached to either our Birmingham, London or Manchester office and will report to the Associate Director, Development.  In line with our current ways of working, you’ll be expected to be in the office at least 1 day a month, in addition to team days and this may be reviewed by Ambition. 
 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

To succeed in this role you'll have a good understanding of funding/proposal preparation processes and experience in securing funding opportunities in the range of £50k-£100k.

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience of successfully cultivating relationships with funders such as trust, foundations, local authorities, corporates and major donors.

Whilst experience of securing funding from research institutions and knowledge of England's education and charity sectors are desirable, it is not essential for applying to this role.

If you can demonstrate team leadership skills and the ability to work flexibly in a fast-moving environment, managing multiple competing priorities and a complex workload whilst meeting deadlines effectively, we welcome an application from you.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team to work in Cornwall to promote and enable - walking, wheeling, cycling, and public transport as the sustainable way of travelling to schools, workplaces, and for journeys in the local community.

As the Project Officer, you will be innovating, developing, and delivering tailor-made packages of activities and promotional material to encourage and enable active travel. 

You will work in close partnership with Cornwall Council, public transport providers, Sustrans’ Behaviour Change & Engagement team and colleagues to support the development and delivery of a countywide Workplace Travel Challenge. This will help ensure that as many people as possible can benefit from the project and that more local journeys can be travelled actively. 

Due to the nature of the role, a full DBS is required. 

We offer true hybrid working, with a mix of working from the Authority office 1-2 days a week and the opportunity for home working. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake the project on behalf of Sustrans. You will be occasionally travelling across the Cornwall region.

Senior Research Manager (Policing and Youth Justice)

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.  

The Research team is at the heart of our efforts to learn what works and put it into practice. We do this by commissioning research (including qualitative research, systematic reviews of intervention evidence and data analysis), and using this research to write and publish guidance across YEF’s sectors of interest.

We would be especially interested to hear from you if:   

• You know a lot about policing and/or youth justice: You know the key ideas and debates, recent policy developments and key people. You’re comfortable talking about policing and/or youth justice with experts. There are many ways to acquire this knowledge. You might have worked in the police or youth justice, in associated organisations, or learnt about either during a degree.

You will be responsible for overseeing Dalgarno Trust’s Programmes, and line managing our Community Champions Manager, Health Works Manager, Foodbank, Volunteer and Room Bookings Manager and Youth Programme Manager. 

Purpose of the job:

• To maintain effective oversight of the delivery of a range of projects and programmes being managed by designated managers.
• To ensure performance management expectations are being met by each project and programme and reported to appropriate funders, including internal and external stakeholders.
• To provide leadership and direction to project and programme managers and work with other senior members of staff to achieve organisational goals.

Duties and responsibilities:

Service delivery management

• To keep abreast of key performance indicators expected to be measured and evidenced for each of the projects and programmes and keep under constant review the need for adjustments in processes to be able to achieve expected performance.
• To use Salesforce for monitoring and evaluating project outputs, outcomes, and impact for reporting to funders, including internal and external stakeholders.
• To support managers in understanding what information is required in terms of monitoring information expected by funders and the Board of Trustees.
• To develop and maintain a performance dashboard on all projects and programmes.
• To communicate performance information of projects and programmes (e.g. dashboard) regularly across the organisation and to internal and external stakeholders as directed by the CEO.

Human resources management

• To provide effective line management to designated staff, ensuring all necessary information about their time management, supervision records, leave arrangements, and other HR records (e.g. sickness) are up to date and available for management decisions and service delivery needs.
• To ensure performance targets, monthly one-to-one meetings, reviews, professional development plans are in place and in practice for each direct report.
• To work with other senior managers on creating management reports on workforce performance and development.
• To work with other senior managers and CEO to ensure organisational performance and service delivery information is helping achieve business development and growth.
• To provide leadership through coaching or other means to direct reports where this helps, is needed or achieves benefits for the individual and organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Person Specification - Qualifications and Skills

-JNC Professionally qualified Youth Worker with Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., social work, youth development, education) or equivalent practical experience.

-Proven experience working with young people in a youth club, community centre or similar setting.

-Strong understanding of youth development principles and best practices.

-Excellent communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills.

Role Requirements

Site wide general housekeeping service – ensure that the housekeeping services is of an acceptable level and is consistent across site.

• Carry out a cleaning service in allocated buildings/rooms/areas ensuring that daily tasks are completed according to the standard operating procedures in relation to the cleanliness/hygiene standards.
• Follow infection control procedures whenever carrying out duties and ensure procedures are followed should there be an infection control outbreak.
• Liaise with the Housekeeping Supervisor and House Staff on a daily basis – carrying out special requests in relation to Housekeeping.
• Ensure safe storage of cleaning materials and equipment and sufficient stock is maintained – informing the Housekeeping Supervisor of stock requiring ordering.
• Assist in the cleaning of communal areas on a daily basis and cleaning of carpets, curtains and high dusting on a rotating schedule.
• Ensure that any repairs required to fixtures and fittings are reported to the designated Facilities Helpdesk as soon as possible and any issues are reported to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Assist in routine housekeeping audits as outlined in the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and ensure any works are to agreed service levels.
• Prioritise work to complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Assist other members of the Site Services and Facilities teams as required.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.
