What would we like…?
We're looking for someone with a background in graphic design and a keen eye for detail to join our Learning Design team as Graphic Designer for a 12-month FTC, to cover a period of maternity leave within the team.
You'll be responsible for for creating visuals and infographics for use across a range of different formats, including both digital and print. You'll use your understanding of graphic design principles and your technical design skills to help participants on our programmes both navigate our materials and make sense of complex information.
We would like you to:
- Create graphics for use in our learning materials, both print and digital
- Refine and, in some instances, establish visual style guides for each resource to ensure that all materials are aligned with our Ambition Institute’s brand style, accessible to all and replicable at scale.
- Use your knowledge of core graphic design principles to inform your work and support colleagues in learning design to use graphics effectively (relating to principles such as: typography, layout. colour and illustration)
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Learning Design team and across the organisation to translate ideas, information and concepts into strong visuals.
- Writing briefs for external graphic designers, which accurately describe the work, provide clear style guidance and specifications and set clear timelines for completion of the work.
Working in a hybrid way, you’ll be attached to either our Birmingham, London or Manchester office and will report to Associate Director, Production. In line with our current ways of working, you’ll be expected to be in the office at least 1 day a month, in addition to team day (which rotate across our regional offices) and this may be reviewed by Ambition.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
To succeed in this role you'll have a minimum of level 3 qualification in Graphic Design, e.g. degree, diploma or apprenticeship. You'll demonstrate an ability to work in a flexible manner and have experience of working in both digital and media print.
It is essential that you are able to work efficiently in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe In Design. You'll also demonstrate an ability to work with content designers to help them turn their knowledge of information or a concept into a visual image.
Whilst an ability to create clear and accurate briefs for external Graphic Designers and knowledge of accessibility standards are desirable, it is not essential that you have prior experience to apply for this role. We will provide training and development where there are gaps.

Beyond Equality is a UK not-for-profit organisation that works with men and boys to promote gender equality, inclusive communities, and healthier relationships. Founded by students from Oxford University, it focuses on gender equality, healthier relationships, and more positive masculinities.
We have worked across schools, universities, workplaces and with professional sports teams and have collectively reached over 100,000 boys and men. We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Team Manager to work with an innovative and friendly multidisciplinary team at our London Centre. You will manage and coordinate a team of highly skilled and dedicated clinicians, in the service delivery of a range of NICE guideline recommended therapy interventions, offered to our clients, who are survivors of torture and organised violence. You will report to the Head of Clinical Services, London and operate as an integral part of the London Clinical Services Team. This is an exciting chance to join us as we place survivor empowerment and movement building at the heart of our four year strategy, and work together to increase the number of clients who can access our services. It is based in a centre specifically designed to be a safe and welcoming environment for survivors and includes gardens and growing facilities.
About the role
This is a wide-ranging position, and your key areas of responsibility will include:
- To manage a multi-disciplinary team, including paid staff and volunteers from different professions and disciplines and provide professional and clinical supervision to qualified clinicians and trainees in the service including, clinical/counselling psychologists.
- To ensure that Freedom from Torture's clinical model continues to be fully rolled out, with particular emphasis on survivor empowerment and evidence-based practice for addressing PTSD and other mental health impacts of torture.
- Championing people development as well as influence delivery of evidenced -based practice, clinical standards, quality initiatives and audit based services.
- To formulate and negotiate psychological treatment and management plans for referred clients and to provide psychological treatment for a small caseload, using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to the service in line with the new clinical model “Pathways” (drawing on a range of evidence-based models for the presenting problems of the clients).
- Being an effective role model and leader to encourage, develop and enhance skills of others.
About you
This is an important role within Freedom from Torture. To be successful in this role you must have a high level of commitment to maintaining excellent standards of client care and service delivery. It is a key requirement that you must have knowledge of appropriate clinical standards and external regulatory bodies. You must also have sound financial awareness and experience of balancing the provision of quality care against budgetary parameters.
To be considered for this role you must be a Psychologist registered with HCPC and have qualified with a doctorate or equivalent in either clinical or counselling psychology. You must have professional experience of working with clients with complex PTSD and have post-qualification experience of using evidence-based trauma focused therapy models. It is essential that you have a clear understanding of the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum, both in terms of pre-flight experience and the experience of living in exile. You must have previous management and supervision experience and be able to provide demonstrable examples of how you have successfully led and influenced clinical teams within community or health care settings.

Enhanced Support Worker
We're looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Enhance Support Worker to join our RBKC Heaney Cluster Service service in Ladbroke Grove.
£25,937.60 per annum, working 40 hours per week. Benefits include 25 days Annual Leave, pension schemes, staff discounts, healthcare and career progression.
The Heaney Cluster an intensively supported housing scheme for the most challenging customers in the borough. The majority of the customers come with a history of entrenched rough sleeping; often coupled with enduring mental health difficulties. The aim is to offer a home to those who would have difficulty finding accommodation because of their lifestyle choices involving extreme drug and alcohol misuse. The high support hostel caters for eleven service users with complex needs and is staffed 24 hours a day with the minimum of three staff on duty. The medium support services are staffed from 9am to 9pm where the customers present with varying degrees of mental health issues.
Enhanced Support Workers will devise person centered support plans with customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet their needs and goals. This will include sign posting them to the local drug and alcohol services to address substance misuse issues. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.

- To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with mental ill health.

About the role:
This role is home based with some travel requirements for meetings, training and occasional visits to a local office. You will need to work one Saturday a month with a day off in lieu.
Our Victim Awareness Course is a rehabilitative course designed to reduce reoffending thro?ugh increasing victim empathy and improving attitudes and thinking towards crime.
Like the Speed Awareness Course, it is not designed to humiliate or hold offenders to account but it is intended to educate them to understand the impact that their actions & choices have had on victims, their loved-ones, themselves and the wider community.
As a VAC administrator you will be:
- the first point of contact for all those needing to complete one of our interventions and our partners.
- manage all of the referrals coming into the project using a case management system and work towards increasing our confirmed bookings.
- provide a high quality administration service whilst being compassionate and non-judgemental responding to queries efficiently.
- manage a demanding workload and will need to be able to prioritise effectively and work in a methodical way.
You will need:
- Experience of carrying out a variety of administration tasks including writing letters, managing bookings and responding to internal and external queries in a professional way.
- The ability to communicate with people at all levels; offenders, police, partner agencies, facilitators and volunteers both in verbal and written format.
- Experience of using a case management system to record client information and manage course bookings.
- To demonstrate effective and compassionate customer service across a diverse customer base.

About the role:

This role offers flexibility for home and office working with travel to appointments to meet clients across London as required. As an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor- BMEC you will:
- Provide a proactive, high quality & trauma-informed support service to survivors of domestic violence and abuse, with a particular focus on black and minoritised ethnic communities
- Carry out risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy & prevention & recovery work
- Work with relevant service providers to create effective referral pathways
- Manage a caseload, including those assessed at high risk of harm
- Use a person-centred, survivor-focused approach, being mindful of the effects of trauma & additional barriers to access that survivors from black and minoritised ethnic communities may experience
You will need:
- A passion for working with victim/survivors & an understanding of domestic abuse & its impact
- Knowledge of the issues those from Black & minoritised communities face
- A non-judgemental, non-directive and anti-discriminatory approach to empowering victims/survivors
- The ability to speak another language, particularly- Polish, Ukrainian, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Tamil, Turkish, Kurdish, Russian , Somali, Yoruba, Akan, French, Lingala, Igbo, Gujarati, Arabic, Sylheti/Bengali, Hindi, Urdu or Spanish is desirable
