The Individual Supporters department is responsible for the largest single source of income for the NSPCC and we are committed to recruiting new supporters to help grow our income. The Direct Fundraising team has been established to ensure best practice and a high quality supporter experience through one-to-one fundraising channels.

Job purpose

This role sits in our Direct fundraising Team within the Individual Giving department. The key purpose of the job is to:

•  Support the Associate Head and Senior Fundraisers to continue to grow and develop face-to-face direct recruitment and telephone fundraising activity at the NSPCC.
• To work with Senior Fundraisers and Associate Head within the Direct fundraising team to deliver agreed campaigns in line with business requirements.
• Advocate and reinforce the team’s ethics and values across compliance, safeguarding, supporter experience and best practice fundraising.
• Enhance the supporter experience and protect the NSPCC’s reputation when working with professional fundraising agencies.
• Through mystery shopping, call listening and other activities, ensure all activity, by agency partners and relevant internal teams, is compliant with regulation, codes of practice and NSPCC policies.
• Monitor campaign performance and income, ensuring that campaign KPIs and metrics are reported accurately and consistently.
• Monitor expenditure, including financial processes such as raising POs, checking invoices and reporting against budgeted expenditure figures.
• Work with data, including checking data selections for telephone activity.
• Work effectively with other departments within Individual Giving, Communications and Fundraising Directorates and other functions within the NSPCC to maximise income for children. Also working with external agencies to deliver large scale campaigns.
• Work as part of a larger team to meet the same objectives and work effectively with other teams within the NSPCC to maximise income for children.
• Working on behalf of stakeholders and representing brand values in the work that you produce. Being dynamic and a team player is essential.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. With the Associate Head of Direct Fundraising, agree and deliver face-to-face and telephone  direct fundraising activities in line with the Individual Supporters department’s annual business plan and budget to enable the NSPCC to plan its activity and services.
2. Work with the Associate Head to maximise the opportunities by which the fundraising activity can contribute to the NSPCC’s mission of fighting for every childhood over and above fundraising objectives.
3. Be responsible for the development of relationships and delivery of income from potential supporters engaged through face-to-face activity
4. Work with internal NSPCC support teams to set up new agencies and campaigns.
5. Keep up to date on best practice and developments within the charity sector generally and particularly changes to fundraising regulations, compliance and codes of practice relating to direct dialogue fundraising. Updating existing or creating new processes and working with agencies to implement changes in activity.
6. Work with internal compliance teams and external agencies to plan and implement a monitoring schedule in line with the most up to date codes of practice, guidance and regulations.  This should include regular mystery shopping and call listening.
7. To work with the Associate Head to maximise the opportunities by which the fundraising activity of the Direct Fundraising team can contribute to the NSPCC’s mission of ending cruelty to children over and above fundraising objectives.
8. To carry out research through a range of sources, including the Internet, Intranet, publications and other external contacts, including other charities, in order to obtain relevant information that can contribute to the fundraising activities of the Direct fundraising team.
9. To work cross-functionally to ensure that fundraising activities are managed and developed in a way that maximises income for the NSPCC.
10. To undertake specific fundraising projects and activities as necessary or as required to support the department’s fundraising as a whole.

About the role:

We are looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA). This is a full time role on fixed term contract. Hybrid working would be available for this role. The aim of this role is to support victims of domestic abuse who live in Central Bedfordshire. This role will be part of our other wider specialist services covering Bedfordshire.

As an IDVA you will be:

• Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse.
• Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service trough individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
• Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
• Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training
• Supporting the Daily Domestic Abuse meeting in the IFD (Integrated Front Door), which discusses all medium/standard risk referrals that have come in over the previous 24 hours and agrees on the most appropriate source of advice and support for the family.
• Attending the BRiF meetings weekly where community partners bring concerns about family's they are working with including concerns about standard/medium domestic abuse.
• Professional point of contact for the IFD and Adult Safeguarding teams (also based at Priory House).
• Point of contact for any concerns staff have about their own relationships and dynamics of domestic abuse they need support with

You will need:

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse is advantageous
• To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
• To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.

Macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, with around 300 people diagnosed every day. The Macular Society is the only charity determined to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease with world class research, and the best advice and support.

To support people affected by macular disease now, the Macular Society provides a range of support, information and services. Our research programme is focused on finding new treatments and a cure to Beat Macular Disease forever.

This role focuses on raising funds, recruiting new donors and engaging existing donors, with particular emphasis on challenge events. The postholder will work closely with the whole Community & Events Fundraising team in driving income, identifying opportunities and stewarding our supporters.

The postholder will also help to identify opportunities for income generation and donor recruitment including digital and social media. They will liaise with the Community & Events Fundraising Manager to help to forecast each year’s events income and participant numbers. They will also be aware of current fundraising trends and keep up to date with best practice and comply with relevant legislation.

Base of Work

Medaille Trust is one of the leading providers of support to survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking in the UK. We are working to provide refuge and freedom for survivors and fighting to see slavery in all its forms become a thing of the past. The need for this work has never been higher, there are more than 50 million estimated victims of modern slavery worldwide, and over 120,000 potential victims in the UK.

We operate ten safe houses and five outreach hubs, staffed round the clock by specialist staff, working with more than 600 men, women and dependent children each year. We work to raise awareness in the UK and to provide preventive work in source countries. Our Pursue work helps survivors to engage with police and within the legal system to seek justice and to secure convictions against their perpetrators.

This role is based in a safe house in the Southampton area.

About the job

Due to a restructure, we are seeking a confident and experienced Modern Slavery Case Worker with a wide range of skills and importantly, a ‘can do’ approach.

As the Modern Slavery Case Worker, you will work as a member of a close and supportive team providing a safe environment for vulnerable female adults and their dependents up to the age of 1 from outside the UK who have experienced trauma and exploitation. You will provide high quality practical and emotional support to the residents within a risk assessed safe house setting. The role will involve assisting clients with increasing practical skills and self-confidence to empower and enable independent and safe living.

You will be expected to line manage Case Worker Assistants and bank staff. Additionally, you will be allocated a caseload of up to 5 service users to support.

This role is mainly Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend shifts. You will be required to be part of an on-call rota and able to get to and from the project if it is necessary to attend the project whilst on-call.

You must have experience of working with vulnerable adults, the ability to work within a ‘risk associated’ environment and, ideally, experience of working within a residential or community setting with non-UK citizens.

Administration / IT skills and health and safety awareness are essential. Modern Day Slavery, Immigration and knowledge of the asylum process would be desirable. Please also note that there is a substantial amount of administrative work involved in this role.

The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing effective professional internal and external communications strategies for the Diocese to support the Diocesan Bishop and senior leaders as part of the Mission of the Church. As Communications Manager you will oversee the Diocese’s media relations including proactive engagement with journalists and responding to press inquiries. 1. Main Duties

Communications Strategy

• Design, develop, and implement the Diocese’s Communications Strategy which is fully aligned with the Diocese ten-year Mission plan.
• Research and identify appropriate methods and channels including secular and religious media to raise the Diocese’s profile and in turn that of the Catholic church.
• Collaborate with partners, such as the Bishops Conference of England and Wales to help shape and influence public policy aligned with Diocesan objectives.

 External Communications

• Proactively identify opportunities for promoting positive news about the work of the diocese and enabling the Diocesan Bishop to contribute to thought leadership and public debate on relevant policies.
• Drafting material appropriate for publication.
• Arranging video to support key diocesan publications such as Bishops Pastoral Letters.
• Build and develop the Diocese’s links with press and media to support strategic objectives.
• Act as the point of contact for sensitive news, advising the Bishop and senior staff about media handling.
• Act as the Diocesan spokesperson when required, providing a positive and supportive representation of the Catholic Church and the Diocese.
• Develop and implement a Crisis Communications Plan, crafting media statements and briefing senior colleagues on media lines to take.
• Organise media training for senior clergy and lay leaders as required.
• Work with Bishops Office to deliver the weekly E-News, being responsible for editorial control and compliance with relevant regulations, e.g. copyright law
• Work with parishes to support our stewardship journey, including developing compelling good news stories about the work of the Catholic Church.  

Internal Communications

• Work closely with HR to Oversee and improve the management of internal communications to foster transparency and engagement.
• Take overall responsibility for organising monthly team briefings for the department of Administration and for other ad hoc events involving parish employee’s clergy and volunteers.
• Manage communication channels such as the intranet, regular newsletters, and staff briefings to ensure alignment with Diocesan values and goals.
• Work with Bishops office on key publications such as the annual directory.  

Website and Digital Presence

• Oversee the ongoing improvements in the functionality of the Diocesan website, ensuring it is engaging, user-friendly, up to date and supports the Bishop’s vision.
• Introduce interactive and video content to enhance user experience.
• Support parishes in developing and maintaining their local websites.

 Support to Key Departments

• Collaborate with key departments to design and implement tailored communication strategies. For example, Safeguarding.
• Provide tools, templates, and guidance to ensure consistent and effective messaging across departments.
• Act as ‘brand champion’, developing, overseeing and implementing brand guidelines to professionalise and standardise all external communications output, whether it emanates from within or outside the Communications department.
• Build and maintain strong positive working relationships across the DSAS and wider Diocese to support the successful delivery of the communications strategy'

Meeting Attendance and Reporting

• Attend meetings of the Finance Audit and Risk Committee and any other meetings required, to provide briefings, regular written reports and seek approvals as needed from the Board of Trustees about Communication related matters.
• Support the work of Multidisciplinary meetings that may be called form time to time to deal with extraordinary events.
• Attend in person meetings in parishes across the Diocese where sensitive matters indicate that an in-person meeting is preferable.

Team Management

• Provide leadership, direction, and line management to the Communications team, ensuring objectives are met.
• Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and annual performance appraisals.

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, strategic communications, or equivalent.
