· Promoting Advocacy and Advice across the borough

· Working within Real’s quality frameworks; Real holds the Quality Practice Mark for Advocacy and the Advice Quality Standard.

· Supporting the Coordinator with monitoring and evaluating the service and overall service delivery

You will be responsible for ensuring the project achieves its behaviour change aims, as agreed by the funder. This includes but is not limited to recruiting new schools onto the project, keeping active schools engaged, organising the distribution of resources, and supporting project audiences in the implementation of walking interventions.

You will be required on site and will therefore live within a reasonable travel distance by public transport of West Yorkshire.

About the Role

The main purpose of this role is to promote and ensure the smooth running of the region through providing a high level of administrative and logistical support to the Africa Regional Support Team (RST) and the overseas partners. Your duties will be varied, ranging from developing effective office systems, acting as Africa Region point of contact with other teams and departments, organising internal team meetings and events, making travel arrangements by liaising with our travel partner, carrying out financial processes (raising purchase orders, making team salary allocations etc), assisting with the production of reports and proposals, managing mailing lists and all other administrative tasks. You will work closely with the leadership of the Africa Region.

The Regional Adoptions Facilitator will be instrumental in streamlining our adoption services to maximise the number of horses we can help by 2026! 

More about the role

As Regional Adoption Facilitator, you'll collaborate with centre-based Adoptions Coordinators to swiftly execute the Blue Cross strategy, focusing on efficient horse adoption services, including home direct placements. You'll oversee the post-adoption process in your region, ensuring smooth ownership transfers after successful loan periods to expedite horse rehoming and optimize space for new cases.

Each day you will be conducting thorough home checks and visits—both in-person and virtually—for borrowers to uphold welfare standards and address any issues promptly. Collaborating with the Rehabilitation, Trainer, and Behaviour Advisor (RTBA), you'll manage challenging horse behaviours to support successful home placements. You'll also facilitate home direct rehoming initiatives, making critical decisions to match horses with suitable owners based on your expertise and ensuring ongoing support post-adoption.

To expand our impact, you'll recruit and manage a network of volunteers, including a regional volunteer manager, for home direct assessments and checks. This includes coordinating visits and appointments, fostering partnerships with external charities aligned with our home direct efforts.

Providing excellent client experiences is essential, ensuring every interaction covers all necessary information for successful matching and adopting horses into loving homes.

This is a home-based post with extensive travel. The nature of the post will require the coordinator to demonstrate considerable flexibility in arranging their work schedule and time allocation. This will include some weekend and evening work. Due to the nature of the charity’s work, it may be necessary to exceed these hours when the workload demands. The Regional Adoptions Facilitator will be required to use their own car in carrying out their duties and will be reimbursed for business mileage as appropriate. 

This is a part-time role working 26.25 hours over four days per week on a rota which includes weekends and bank holidays.  This role involves extensive travel covering areas such as Warwickshire, Nottinghamshire and across to Norfolk.

Knowledge, skills, and experience

The postholder will be experienced, skilled and knowledgeable, with an essential interest in and experience of working with migrant and refugee clients with complex needs; and the post would suit someone with previous experience in the migration or advice sectors who is interested in working with a mixed caseload that includes needs around destitution, homelessness, immigration and NRPF issues. We actively welcome applications from those with lived and relevant experience.

The post holder will assess, prioritise and triage new enquiries and referrals and allocate cases as appropriate within the generalist team. You will also carry your own caseload and provide one-to-one generalist advice, casework and practical support to migrant and refugee clients on
issues including immigration status, housing & homelessness, welfare benefits, asylum support, community care and destitution; as well as signposting and referring to internal and external local services including support groups, wellbeing activities, digital inclusion, ESOL, training and employability.

You will oversee our phone and email advice provision and organise and take part in the weekly advice rota. You will administer our destitution hardship grants and liaise closely with our food bank staff in relation to destitute clients in need of food bank support. You will attend and participate in local migrant sector meetings and networks as appropriate and, along with all staff and volunteers, you will have responsibility for identifying and raising any safeguarding concerns. You will jointly oversee and supervise casework volunteers and provide support and advice to our current generalist caseworker where needed.

The advice & casework team supports clients holistically on a range of different matters and our core caseload includes refugees, asylum seekers, those with NRPF, complex EUSS cases, spousal visas and undocumented migrants. Many of those we work with are homeless or precariously housed, destitute, and/or struggling to access support through statutory services for mental health, housing, welfare benefits and children’s services. The balance of time spent between different client groups and cases will need to be responsive to the ongoing demographic changes we see in the city and region, and the post holder will be expected to provide casework management and co-ordination of relevant services, liaising closely with other providers and with interpreters.

You will work as part of a small, supportive team that currently includes one other f/t generalist caseworker, one f/t immigration caseworker and a number of active casework support volunteers. The wider frontline staff team includes four refugee resettlement caseworkers; our group work facilitator; a skills & employability caseworker; an ESOL tutor; a food bank co-ordinator; and a volunteer co-ordinator.

Regular supervision and support and in-house and on-the-job training will be provided, as well as external training on specific issues where needed. However you will need to be ready to step immediately into a busy advice environment with the necessary confidence, skills and knowledge to begin to deliver advice and casework and take over an existing caseload.

On rare occasions you might be required to work out of hours where there are emergencies or if and when there are new arrivals in need of immediate support.

The activities provide individuals with opportunities to develop essential life skills, increase their wellbeing and create new support networks.

The programme will help individuals to build new friendships, develop aspirations and gain access to a supportive worker who they can approach for advice and guidance.

• Life skills workshops such as cooking, budgeting, travel training.
• Creative/outdoor activities such as music, cooking, drama, art, sport etc.
• One-to-one support to provide bespoke guidance so young people can overcome barriers to access education, employment and training opportunities.

A key part of the role will be promoting the programme to stakeholders and working to recruit young people. The successful candidate will integrate themselves within the Bolton Leaving Care Service to ensure we receive referrals for the programme.

• To effectively project manage the programme, ensuring that all planning, budgeting, recording, and reporting is up to date.
• To ensure that all activities are youth led and youth voice embedded in the programme.

The Centre for Computing History is an accredited museum and charity situated in Cambridge, with collections and learning at its heart. The museum's core purpose is to increase understanding of the history of computing by exploring its social, cultural and historical impact.

Our collection rightly celebrates the incredible evolution of computing technology. However, the museum also has a responsibility to recognise the ecological impact of the rise of technology, and to date we have not explored these stories. We are excited to have secured funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund, run by the Museums Association, for an exciting new two-year project, Broken Tech : Broken Earth. Role Summary 

We're now seeking a talented, energetic and efficient Project Coordinator to oversee this exploratory project. 

The Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund, run by the Museums Association, aims to encourage participatory practice in museums, and this concept lies at the heart of this project. Participatory practice means involving visitors and communities in the creation and interpretation of museum exhibitions, programs, and events content – asking for stories about objects in the collection, rather than assuming we know what the most important stories are. This approach is inclusive, encourages visitors to feel ownership and helps museums discover untold stories about their collections.

We are looking for someone special to co-ordinate this process and exploit our unique platform to raise awareness of environmental issues and e-waste and to create change. The Project Co-ordinator will take ownership of the day-to-day operations of the Broken Earth Project, including working closely with all external and internal stakeholders, monitoring progress, and ensuring project milestones are met. This new fixed-term role is a critical part of the project and crucial to its success.

Terms

• Hours: 22.5 hours per week ideally worked across three days (Weds-Fri) but flexibility is possible, subject to agreement (0.6 FTE). The role is likely to involve work outside of these hours, in the evenings and at weekends. Fixed term until September 2026.

Support those who Care

This is an exciting opportunity to join our new service supporting Carers across City of London to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs.

The team work holistically with Carers to understand their individual circumstances and level of need. You’ll carry out home visits and community-based meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Carers, families, and professionals. You will also support Carers to complete written forms and applications, draft letters, and advocate with third parties.         

You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.

Together with colleagues, you will plan and deliver the service’s activity package, including coffee mornings, drop-in sessions, activities, online and face to face groups, and peer support forums. There will also be opportunities to promote the service by attending meetings and forums, and to deliver training sessions to professionals and community organisations so that they have the skills to identify Carers.

Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services.

THE ROLE

The Diana Award Mentoring Programme works with young people aged 14-18 who are at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) in Birmingham, Leeds, and London. We support these young people by collaborating with volunteer mentors from local partners and businesses, sharing professional advice and guidance, and providing careers skills training.

The programme also encourages young people to participate in social action, with volunteer mentors and mentees working together to develop a campaign around a social issue that affects their community. During the twelve-week programme, young people will have the opportunity to apply for further support for their social action project through our Social Action Accelerator Programme. Two groups of young people from each region are supported by The Diana Award staff and volunteer mentors for another six months. Staff and volunteer mentors provide ongoing advice and guidance, as well as resources to support the implementation of the project, such as venue hire and equipment.  

We also provide further careers skills development opportunities for young people across the UK. Our Career Lounge and online Work Experience projects are delivered in collaboration with our volunteering partners. They provide young people with insight into the world of work and specific employment sectors and organisations, improve knowledge of routes into further and Higher Education and employment, and further support the development of careers skills.  

You will work closely with the Mentoring Programme Coordinator (London) to engage young people and volunteer mentors with the Mentoring Programme and other careers skills development opportunities.  You will facilitate the twelve-week Mentoring Programme in secondary schools, Further Education colleges and alternative education provisions, and support with other careers skills development opportunities. You will also undertake administrative tasks supporting the Mentoring Programme.

RESPONSIBILITIES_ 

• Engage young people with the Mentoring Programme and other careers skills development opportunities, including Career Lounges, online Work Experience, Youth Voice Day, and Social Action Accelerator Programme.

• Contribute to the delivery of other careers skills development opportunities for young people. 

• Provide young people with ongoing support for social action projects.

• Contribute to the delivery of volunteer mentor training.

• Undertake administrative tasks to support the delivery of the Mentoring Programme and other careers skills development opportunities, including communicating with young people, volunteer mentors and teachers, designing programme resources, and adhering to monitoring, learning and evaluation processes.

• Effectively gather information about young people and volunteer mentors, recording and storing personal data consistently and confidentially. 

• Contribute to programme development to ensure effective intervention is delivered across your region, where required.

• Collaborate with the Mentoring Team to ensure an integrated approach to programme delivery across your region.

• Contribute to cross-directorate working groups and projects, where required.

• Uphold safeguarding and child protection policy and procedure throughout, including reporting safeguarding concerns and disclosures to the relevant DSL and uploading to MyConcern.

PERSON SPECIFICATION_

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE

• Experience of facilitating youth intervention programmes focused around social action (knowledge of careers programmes is a bonus)

• Experience of volunteer facilitation (experience working with corporate volunteers is a bonus)

Housing Support Worker

Position: Supported Lodgings Coordinator

Location: Cheshire West and Chester - (borough wide predominantly Ellesmere Port and Chester)

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours

About the Role

The Supported Lodgings Co-ordinator role is a busy and varied one. You will be responsible for ensuring all young people referred to the service, are assessed, supported and placed effectively with their hosts. In addition, you will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training and management of hosts, as well as promoting the service to key stakeholders, and supporting young people directly.

Cheshire West Supported Lodgings service will work across the borough of Cheshire West and Chester and you will be responsible for the effective delivery of it.

Your work will be underpinned by the organisations Endeavour model of assets based, psychologically informed delivery. The aim of which is to ensure that every young person leaves the service with the skills and resilience to be confident and self-determining in their lives.

Working under the direction, guidance and support of the Deputy Supported Lodgings Manager and the Greater Manchester Prevention Team you will be responsible for young people needing longer term placements, as well as sharing responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all hosts and staff at the service.

Key responsibilities include:

• To be the first point of contact for young people and referral partners wanting to access the Supported Lodgings service.

• You will lead on the assessment of needs and risk, predominantly focused on suitable risk management plans for the safeguarding, matching and placement of young people in the homes of hosts

• Arrange all aspects of a young person’s stay with a host, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported, taking into account the support needs of individuals.

• You will have responsibility for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for young people and hosts through regular checks and reporting.

• To work with young people, hosts and other agencies, to prepare them for independent living and access longer term, appropriate accommodation using support plans.

• You will be part of a team responsible for a 24 hour on call service

• You will recruit, vet and train hosts both formally and informally ensuring that the host recruitment policies and procedures are implemented.

• You will be responsible for carrying out regular checks on host accommodation and assisting them to make necessary changes.

• You will proactively work in partnership with multiple agencies including statutory teams, to support the well being and ongoing housing needs of young people, working in accordance with safeguarding, data protection and information sharing protocols.

• You will lead on the active promotion and selling of the Supported Lodgings service to all potential hosts and referral partners, across the voluntary/statutory sectors and within the wider local community.

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

• Experience and an understanding of working with people experiencing homelessness, or people in crisis

• Experience of supporting young people with their support needs, working closely with other key professionals.

• Experience of writing, implementing and evaluating risk assessments

• Experience of supervising or supporting hosts or staff
