You will be able to grow and maintain relationships with our supporters, provide information, host events and give support to people as they think about leaving a gift in their Will to the RSPB. You will aim to increase the number of people leaving a gift in their Will and work closely with other professional contacts including our reserve teams to grow our in-memoriam offer and increase resulting income.

You will have experience working to targets and Key Performance Indicators and delivering virtual and face to face events. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Sensitivity and understanding are required within this role as you will be dealing with emotive subjects. Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills are essential attributes, alongside a logical and methodical way of working.
With the support of the RSPB legacy network, you will be required to work to your own initiative with clear priorities and established work programmes, with a requirement to travel frequently. Occasional weekend and evening work may also be required.
What’s the role about?
The focus of the role will be to provide specialist advice to supporters who are exploring leaving a charitable gift in their Will, with the aim of increasing the future amount and value of legacies.
Other key result areas for the role will include:
- Deliver high-quality bespoke stewardship to legacy supporters
- Deliver tailored supporter events and speak at organisational events
- Responsible for maintaining accurate file notes, relevant legal documents and supporter data on the Supporter System
- Develop relationships both internally and with key sector professionals within the Central England area, to provide advice and promote the benefits of legacy and in-memoriam giving
What we need from you
We need someone who can show empathy and responsiveness when dealing with supporters. You will need to be highly organised, self-motivated, have rigorous attention to detail, and exceptional communication skills. You will need to show good leadership and networking skills. You should be able to define and clarify complex situations by gathering facts and making justifiable decisions
The role will involve working collaboratively with internal departments, external clients and our reserves teams to reach and exceed targets and KPIs.

- Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with Fundraising Codes of Practice, Fundraising Regulator guidance, and Data Protection regulations.

The position is based working from home covering South East England with a preferred commute within 1 hour of the RSPB Brighton office. The regional area of this position spans from Colchester across to St Albans, and down to Portsmouth, covering the bottom-right part of the UK, regular driving is expected, and a UK Driving Licence is required.

What’s the role about?
The Dee Estuary is one of the charity’s largest and most diverse reserves spanning over 6000 hectares straddling the England-Wales border. Habitats range from tidal saltmarsh, mudflats, sand dune and shingle beach to the freshwater reedbed, wet grassland and ancient woodland at Burton Mere Wetlands, where the increasingly popular visitor facilities serve as the gateway to the estuary’s impressive wildlife spectacles.
As a member of the Dee Estuary team, you’ll work alongside passionate staff and volunteers to welcome visitors, share the conservation significance of this remarkable reserve, and inspire support for the charity through fundraising and membership recruitment.
What we’re looking for:
You don’t need prior fundraising experience—we’ll provide full training!
While expert wildlife knowledge isn’t required, you’ll need:

Senior Events Officer - Maternity cover

This role will support the Events Development Manager in the planning and delivery of online and digital events, as well as an expanded events programme that aligns with the RSPB’s strategic goals. The Senior Events Officer will play a critical role in operationally leading parts of this programme, deputising for the Events Development Manager, and using their expertise to execute the strategy.
What's the role about?
The Senior Events Officer will be responsible for delivering multiple, simultaneous projects while managing diverse stakeholders and collaborating with teams across the RSPB, partner organisations and agencies.
A key area for this role will also be to curate, develop, and deliver innovative, high-quality events and experiences that resonate with target audiences and drive engagement. You will focus specifically on delivering events that reach and converts new audiences and help to retain members and courage lifetime value using innovative approaches and event delivery. You will oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, including risk management, communication plans, and live event coordination (both in-person and virtual).
Operational Focus
- Prepare event briefs with key stakeholders to ensure that clear objectives and outcomes are set, monitored, and delivered.
- Produce, project management, and deliver events to an exceptionally high standard using project management tools and risk plans.
- Live manage events to ensure they run smoothly and achieve their outcomes.
- Attend and contribute to workshops and project meetings, ensuring that project needs are articulated and understood.
Strategic Impact
The Senior Events Officer will directly contribute to the RSPB’s mission by supporting the engagement of more diverse audiences, enhancing member value, and driving income generation. Your leadership in implementing the events programme ensures the organisation’s continued growth and ability to inspire action for nature.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- A degree or equivalent professional qualification in event management, marketing, or a related field, or demonstrable experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrable experience managing and leading large-scale events of over 1000 people, from concept through to implementation and evaluation
- Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of event marketing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to write and produce engaging content, including copy writing, and in-person delivery to influence and represent the directorate and the organisation
- Expertise in working with tracking, measurement, and analytic tools to assess event success and deliver detailed event insight.
- Experience of delivering online events to over 500 attendees, including live polling, panel discussion and working with production companies
- Budget management of significant >£50k budgets
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across teams in complex structure organisations
- Experience in managing and prioritising multiple objectives, workstreams and communication priorities.

The UK Overseas Territories hold an incredible array of globally significant environments. From vast peatlands and incredible seabird colonies to extensive mangrove swamps, they are home to many endemic species. We are looking for an inspirational leader to drive forward our ambitious programme of terrestrial and marine conservation in the UK Overseas Territories.
Leading a dedicated team, you will work in partnership with the communities, civil society organisations and governments of the territories, building long-lasting relationships. You will oversee programmes supporting territories in the Caribbean, the Atlantic and the Pacific. This varied role includes capacity building with the territory partners, leading project development such as for island restoration and species recovery and advocating for the policies needed to protect these special places. You will create opportunities to develop and showcase nature-based solutions for wildlife, climate and people on the global stage.
You will be passionate about nature conservation through capacity building, with experience in a range of environments, and versatility to work with practitioners and policy-makers.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Sound knowledge and experience of UKOTs nature conservation issues and solutions
- Collaborative style with demonstrable evidence of building successful partnerships
- Proven leadership and people management skills, able to develop team members for high performance and build a positive culture across geographically dispersed teams

What’s the role about?
Located 6 miles away from Chichester, Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve consists of intertidal saltmarsh, shingle beaches, lagoons, farmland and copses, and is one of the jewels of the South Coast.
The team at Pagham Harbour have been delivering exemplary visitor experience for many years, making the reserve a serious opportunity for fundraising and membership recruitment.
As a core part of both the Pagham team and the Face to Face membership teams, you be working alongside staff and volunteers to welcome visitors to the reserve and enthuse them about the conservation importance of the site. You will be expected to role model best practices for reserve fundraising to inspire new memberships for the charity.
What we are looking for:
Given that this position is based at Pagham Harbour, the ideal candidate will live within 20 miles of Pagham harbour. Expert knowledge of British wildlife is not a pre-requisite, but a passion for conservation, an ability to employ effective communication skills and an eagerness to learn are essential.
You need a passion for saving nature, an engaging personality, the ability to present a compelling reason to support the charity, communicate confidently and be happy to work toward targets. This is a rewarding and enjoyable role with the only requirement to engage and inspire!
You may have worked in other areas where you have had to build face-to-face relationships, such as hospitality, customer service, sales, sustainability, conservation, campaigning, income generation, business development, retail, or in a volunteering capacity.
However, it is your skills we are interested in rather than your work experience, as you will receive fantastic training and ongoing support as you start your career. Your training will include a combination of training in English reserves, alongside existing Fundraisers and on the job at Pagham.

The reserve is located on Holy Island, near Holyhead on Anglesey, and features a rich variety of habitats, including heathland, farmland, cliffs, coastline, and ocean. It is particularly significant for its population of breeding choughs, with approximately 14 breeding pairs calling the reserve home. At certain times of the year, non-breeding flocks of up to 30 choughs can also be spotted. To support these birds, we actively manage the lowland coastal heathland and farmland to maintain optimal nesting and feeding conditions.

Entry Level Fundraiser

We are looking for a seasonal fundraiser to work at the stunning Bempton Cliffs for the 2025 season, and it could be you!
You don’t have to have fundraising experience, as full training will be provided.

What’s the role about?
Nestled on the Flamborough Headland, around six miles from Bridlington, the towering white chalk cliffs of Bempton are a sight to behold year-round. But between April and July, these cliffs transform into a bustling seabird city, hosting Puffins, Gannets, and many other incredible species. Attracting over 100,000 visitors annually, Bempton Cliffs is a prime location for engaging with people and inspiring support for conservation through fundraising and membership recruitment.
About the Role
As a vital member of the Bempton team, you’ll work alongside staff and volunteers to welcome visitors, share the importance of this extraordinary site, and inspire them to support the charity. You’ll lead by example in reserve fundraising, showcasing best practices to encourage new memberships.
What we’re looking for
This role is based at Bempton Cliffs, so ideally, you’ll live within 15 miles of the reserve. While previous fundraising experience isn’t necessary (as full training will be provided), we’re looking for someone with the following qualities:
- A genuine passion for conservation and protecting nature.Confidence, resilience, and a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and an engaging personality.
- Motivation to meet and exceed targets.
