Job description
  • Join a small, supportive and passioante charity to help make a real difference in peoples' lives.
  • Work in an efficient and proactive team advocating for hospital patients through thr discharge process.  

Advocacy First has a simple purpose, about which we are all passionate, and hope you will be - to help our clients leave hospital in the way and to the place they wish, with all issues resolved and an aftercare plan in place. . 

If you care about helping people, are a good listener and organised with mountains of common sense, then you will enjoy working with us. 

  • The role involves working closely with hospital patients. You will be listening to the patient's issues that need to be resolved before they are able to leave hospital, taking action with hospital staff and other organisations to put solutions in place and communicating clearly with all involved and of course the patient to ensure their wishes and needs are met. 
  • More specifically, you will be making dure patients are aware of their rights, empowering them to make their own decisions, and advocating for a discharge plan that is in accord with their wishes.
  • You will be representing them and speaking up as if you were them on their behalf. ,
  • In this role, you would work with other hospital services and local charties and other organisations to resolve the patient's issues.
