Advocacy First

Who we are

Advocacy First is a small indepaendent charity based in Bromley, in South East London. We work in the hospitals across the Borough. 

We have, since 1998, helped many thousands of people in the Bromley area. 

Our role is to work with patients who will soon be ready for discharge. Being independent of the hospital and having time to spend with each patient means that we really understand their issues and challenges ahead of discharge. We listen to, understand, communicate and act on the issues and challenges which they face in preparation for discharge. We work closely with hospital staff and other organisations. 

We are a small but very dedicated team. 

Our culture and values

1. Compassion. We believe in understanding and kindness to all our patients, colleagues, employees, volunteers and trustees. We must have great empathy with our patients/clients.

2. Integrity We will always act with the utmost integrity in all our dealings with people. This is especially important as we are privy to sensitive private information from our clients.

3. Respect  We will always treat each other with complete respect in all we do. We will treat our patients with the same respect. 

4. Service . We exist as an organisation to serve our clients. The concept of service is fundamental to Advocacy First. 

5. Accountability. We will use our funders' money with the same care as if it were our own. We will follow all legal requirements required of a charity.

Our charity helps patients according to need. .
