Overall purpose

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations initially, the role holder will have technical leadership and overall responsibility for managing the Data and Innovation team. This team helps Breaking Barriers maximise the value of its data, by conducting analysis and managing the CRM (Salesforce) and related software.

The team works across all areas of the organisation to improve processes, unlock efficiencies through automation and generate insights from data. They ensure that data is utilised to inform any innovations or refinements to our services.

The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial manager with a high level of data literacy. We are looking for someone strategic, highly organised and a strong people and team manager. They will be confident at communicating data in a variety of ways to a large range of audiences, identifying key take-aways and the broader implications of the findings on our clients and programming. They will also be able to train others in key data analysis and communication skills.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive and managing a small team of Finance and HR personnel, the Head of Finance & Resources position is broad in scope. The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of RHSU strategy relating to finance, people and culture, governance and digital infrastructure. The post holder will ensure the delivery and resourcing of operating plans, policy and operating procedures to ensure that the Union delivers its strategic objectives across its support services. Who we’re looking for

Skills and experience with developing strategic plans, project/change management and leading on digital infrastructure projects would also be very useful experience to succeed in the role. Strong commercial acumen would be beneficial too -against a backdrop of constantly changing commercial considerations and wider Higher Education sector pressures. 

Whilst core finance skills are essential, both at a strategic and operational level – experience in a broader resources role covering HR, IT, governance or compliance would suit this post well. A demonstrable interest and commitment to a values-driven and student-led organisation is also required.

Working under the Bishop's Lead for Social and Racial Justice and the Diocesan Secretary, the Racial Justice Development Lead will promote and implement the Diocesan Anti-Racism Charter (ARC). Launched in March 2021, the ARC was introduced to actively counter, disrupt and oppose racial injustice. The role will focus on promotion, engagement, training, resources, research, and data monitoring, while addressing the needs of the wider Diocese and parishes.

Key responsibilities

• Advocate for racial justice within Diocesan structures, by promoting best practices in diversity, inclusion, and belonging with a biblical foundation.
• Provide support and advice to parishes, deaneries and clergy on implementing the Anti-Racism Charter and developing culturally appropriate worship and faith practices.
• Collaborate with parishes, schools and Area Racial Justice Groups to share experiences, support meetings, and coordinate events related to racial justice.
• Collect, analyse and report data on racial injustice, ensuring alignment with Diocesan and National Church Requirements, while staying informed on relevant trends.

Candidates will have a strong understanding of racial justice, anti-racism, equality, and inclusion, especially within a church context, and have proven ability to lead engagement/change programmes. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with diverse stakeholders from various disciplines and perspectives. Experience in organising medium to large events and a willingness to understand the structure and dynamics of the Church of England and its Dioceses is desirable. Collaboration is a core value for Diocesan staff and therefore you must be able to work as part of a team for this role.

For this varied and busy role of Events Manager we are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organised individual with excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills. You will be used to working across a number of projects and be able to prioritise your workload and manage your time effectively in this part time role. You will have experience at managing and coordinating events and be able to pick up administrative and IT processes quickly. It is essential to have excellent attention to detail. The Compassionate Friends (TCF) is a national bereavement charity founded 55 years ago, providing peer support and information to bereaved parents and families, whose child has died from any age (from one month old to an adult son or daughter) and from any cause. We are passionate about offering a range of supportive events for bereaved parents and adult siblings and online groups for parents in specific circumstances and adult siblings. - We are seeking two ambitious New Partnerships Leads with a strong track record of identifying, cultivating and winning six and seven figure charity of the year, cause related marketing, sponsorship, brand and strategic partnerships.

- These roles require someone who is a strategic and commercial thinker, with the ability to maximise both short term opportunities and plan for the long term. Additional Criteria for Success:

- Evidence of writing proposals, delivering pitches and winning corporate partnerships with a £100k+ value.

The Immigration Adviser at LAH will provide advice and assistance on basic visa and immigration matters, including handling straightforward cases, often referred to as "initial advice" or "entry-level advice." Main duties and responsibilities 
● Efficiently responding to LAH service users' inquiries while creating a friendly, warm, and welcoming environment
● Providing one-to-one specialist high-quality immigration advice at OISC Level 1 on basic immigration matters, including visitor visas, Spouse and dependent visas, straightforward EU Settlement Scheme applications, extensions of leave to remain, Settlement and British citizenship applications, providing guidance on eligibility and ensuring LAH service users understand their rights and obligations
● Representing LAH service users by completing straightforward application forms, such as visa and leave to remain applications, and assisting them in gathering and preparing the necessary documentation for their applications, maintaining professional conduct with LAH service Users at all times
● Liaising with the Home Office and other relevant authorities on behalf of LAH service users for non-complex matters and submitting high standard applications to the Home Office
● Assisting LAH service users with correspondence related to their applications or immigration status
● Recognising when a case is beyond the scope of OISC Level 1 authorisation, such as appeals, asylum cases, or more complex immigration matters, and referring these to higher-level advisers or solicitors
● Operating within professional boundaries, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times

Monitoring and Evaluation
● Maintaining accurate records and case files, ensuring all advice and actions are properly documented, adhering to OISC Code of Standards and AQS
● Overseeing administrative systems for case management and partaking external file reviews and supervision as instructed, tracking workload, and monitoring submitted applications and their outcomes
● Assisting in demonstrating the impact of our work by recording clear and detailed case notes in our database and tracking outcomes against project targets, identifying challenges and issues affecting the LAH community, all of which will be used to inform our provision
● Providing LAH management with necessary information on the Immigration Advice service, including case studies, detailed reports, and relevant data when required

Professional Development
● Participating in learning and evaluation sessions with partner organisations as relevant
● Attending regular staff and other team meetings as required
● Undertaking OISC Level 2 training procured by LAH
● Staying current with legislative changes and policy updates affecting individuals' rights to remain in the UK, and adhering to best practices set by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) and Advice Quality Standard (AQS)

Other Accountabilities
● Ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with LAH's policies and procedures as well as with the OISC and AQS Code of Standards
● Participating in regular one-to-one sessions for both service and professional development purposes, including regular supervision to assess the quality standard of advice work
● Working closely and collaboratively with other advisers, staff team members, interns, trainees, and volunteers as needed to address the holistic needs and circumstances of LAH service users
● Supporting the preparation for audits by the OISC and AQS, as well as for internal and external reports
● Collaborating with the Head of Operations to ensure the smooth running of the service and implement an efficient administrative strategy
