The charity is now looking for an experienced Director to lead the strategic and operational management of the Centre and its staff. The position involves developing business plans and procedures required for the effective running of the Centre and the meeting of its objectives.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of running a charity in the healthcare sector, of collaborating with statutory bodies and raising funds for charitable purposes. The charity employs 37 staff and has an operating budget of circa £1m.

Fundraising is still a relatively new activity for DFN Project SEARCH and this role presents the opportunity to play a key part in its expansion to support the further growth of the charity and enable young adults with a learning disability to lead healthier, happier, and more independent lives.
This role will support the Director of Development in implementing DFN Project SEARCH’s fundraising strategy. To date the strategy has focused on securing a small number of larger gifts from philanthropic sources, such as trusts and foundations. We are now evolving the strategy to include growing income from high-net-worth individuals, companies, and individual giving.
This role will lead on the development and implementation of the strategy to secure income from high-net-worth individuals (between five and potentially seven figures) and will also work with the Director of Development and the Development Officer on securing income from, and stewarding, trusts, foundations, and statutory funders. Duties and responsibilities
- Lead the technical production of high-profile, technically complex events and assist in the hands-on delivery of events in line with the programme requirements for the venue.

Purpose of the job
The Evaluation & Learning Manager will work closely with the Assistant Director of Research & Impact and internal/external colleagues. Own The Space is a campaign incubator that supports individuals and groups seeking to have a positive impact in the world. Founded just over two years ago, we are seeking a finance and team coordinator to become an integral part of our expanding team. As the Finance and Team assistant, you will have experience in an administrative and finance role and have the ability to deal effectively with suppliers, internal teams and freelance contractors.
Responsibilities: Finance
- Expense and invoice Management: Accurately file and record expenses and invoices using QuickBooks or Xero
- Payments: weekly payment run and payroll
- Cash flow reporting: Assist in preparing and maintaining monthly cash flow reports and tracking spend across projects as directed by the CFO
- VAT returns: Handle quarterly VAT returns to ensure compliance with UK financial regulations
- Tax: Provide assistance with tax preparation and compliance
- Annual returns: Support in the preparation of the annual return in collaboration with our CFO
- Data management: Maintain and update financial records in Google Sheets
- Expenses: Management of expenses platform and related enquiries
- Discretion and confidentiality: Handle sensitive financial information with the highest level of discretion
Responsibilities: Team Support
- Support the maintenance of office infrastructure
- Prepare contracts for consultants and vendors and be the first point of contact for any related enquiries.
- Support on discrete research tasks regarding team management and development
- Liaise with vendors, funders and consultants as needed
- Manage organisational subscriptions and file management
- Support the leadership team as needed in the running of the organisation (for example, management of office spaces, coordination of meetings etc)
- Management of organisational registration and ensuring we are meeting all requirements of Company House

Experience
- We are looking for someone with at least two years of experience in a previous role
- Previous experience of financial accounting especially around bank reconciliations, month-end, payment run etc
- Excellent time management skills and display a high degree of computer proficiency (including Google Suite and experience of working with databases)
- Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector is preferred but not essential – although we ask for a strong commitment to social impact but this can be through volunteering, activism etc
Compensation and Benefits
- This role is two days a week. We are open to this being two full full days or the allocation being stretched across the week.
- The contract is being offered on a one year fixed-term contract at 37,000 GBP pro-rata with a strong possibility of extension
- Benefits include 35 days annual leave, pro-rata (inclusive of public holidays and grace days), pension scheme

- Own The Space has offices in London and Bristol, UK. If you are based outside of these locations we are also set up for remote work but we would expect you to travel to London at least one a quarter

You will lead Woman’s Trust income generation ensuring adequate income to sustain and grow the organisation, increasing its income from £1.3 Million to £3 Million in the next 3 years. While raising funds from multiple income streams, focus growths areas will be statutory and Trust and foundation funding securing six-figure, multiple-year grants and contracts. You will effectively communicate our services and campaign our aims aligned to our strategic priorities.
You will oversee the development and implementation of the fundraising strategy and the funding pipeline; ensure the maintenance and development of excellent relationships with current and new funders, stewarding grants and reporting back; review, update and develop service budgets; oversee the submission or coordination of quality bids, approaches, and events.
As a member of the senior leadership team, this post will work cross departmentally and will contribute to the overall strategy of Woman’s Trust, working closely with the CEO and the Board of Trustees. You will lead and line manage the Senior Trust and Foundation Manager and Fundraising Officer. You will deliver a direct income target for each year, with a focus on the development and tendering of statutory commissioning.
Hours: 35 hours per week (28 hours will be considered).
Location: Office based with remote working available – minimum of 50% of working hours in Woman’s Trust Office, Edgware Road/Paddington, NW1.

About the role
The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for executing Pro Bono Economics’ (PBE) fundraising strategy under the Director of Development’s guidance. This role focuses on increasing and diversifying income through building relationships with trusts, foundations, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals, while also securing funding for specific research projects in collaboration with the research team. The role includes managing donor engagement, overseeing grant applications, leading a small team, and ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations, all while maintaining operational oversight of the fundraising department.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Fundraising strategy implementation: Deliver PBE’s multi-year fundraising strategy to expand and diversify income from major donors, trusts and foundations, corporate partners and research institutions
- New business development: Identify and secure new funding opportunities, focusing on building sustainable partnerships.
- Research support: Collaborate with the research team to identify funding for specific research projects and submit tailored grant proposals.
- Donor engagement: Steward relationships with existing donors, ensuring renewals and funding upgrades.
- Bid writing & reports: Develop and write compelling grant applications, case for support documents and reports which communicate PBE’s services and research programmes.
- Departmental leadership: Support the Director of Development in managing budgets, resources, and a fundraising officer, ensuring team efficiency and future planning.
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure adherence to fundraising regulations and policies, including GDPR and safeguarding.
About you
Report directly to the Director of Development, the Head of Fundraising will have the following experience and skills.
Experience
- You have senior fundraising experience across a broad mix of income streams, a talent for building partnerships, bid writing and a strategic mindset.
- Experience working with research-driven organisations is a plus, as is familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce.
- You are happy to roll up your sleeves and spend as much time focused on immediate management and income priorities as you are on strategy and ideation.
- Will be suited to a senior fundraiser looking for their first Heads of role or someone who has already taken that step.
