We are looking for a part timemotivated and expert HR Professional for up to 14 hours a week, to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives to support the implementation of Young Roots’ strategy, with a particular focus on our culture, staff wellbeing, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. • Proactively monitor our social media channels, responding as relevant.

About The Hygiene Bank

Hygiene poverty is not being able to afford many of the everyday hygiene and personal grooming products most of us take for granted. The reality of low income is that it restricts people’s options, leaving us caught between being able to heat our homes, pay the rent, eat, or be clean.  It is washing hair, bodies, faces and clothes in the same cheap washing-up liquid used for the dishes. It is not being able to replace a toothbrush when needed or sharing a toothbrush because one each just isn't an option. It is having to choose between shaving foam and razors or the transport fare to a job interview.

Hygiene Poverty is the hidden crisis facing the UK. Earlier this year, The Hygiene Bank published a research report into the incidence and impact of hygiene poverty. It found that over 4.2m adults in the UK are affected by hygiene poverty, that is an additional 1.1m people into hygiene poverty since 2022 - the equivalent of the population of Birmingham. 

With hygiene poverty on the rise, it is also undermining the nation’s health: 50% of those affected by hygiene poverty say that it is causing them anxiety or depression. 92% of people affected report that it limits their social interactions with friends and family. 54% of those affected have not gone to the dentist in the last 12 months. But most importantly, it’s putting people in impossible situations. A staggering 69% of adults experiencing hygiene poverty are having to make the difficult decision between paying for essential needs like food and bills or purchasing basic toiletries. 65% of parents affected by hygiene poverty have had to choose between buying hygiene products for themselves or their children.

About the role

This role will be part of a multi-disciplinary Communications Team working together to raise awareness of the work of The Hygiene Bank. The successful candidate will develop and deliver effective marketing and communications content, with a special focus on digital channels, to promote The Hygiene Bank’s work, partnerships, and year-round fundraising activity – including National Hygiene Week and brand collaborations – and demonstrate the positive impact donations have had on communities across the UK. The post holder will be responsible for creating timely, compelling and targeted content that aligns with the overarching external content strategy, seeking the optimal dissemination channels to position the organisation with key stakeholders. Working effectively with volunteers is an important part of our Project Support Officer roles. You will support the Area Manager and Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, volunteer administration and volunteer retention, and giving our volunteers a fantastic experience. You will also be involved in guest outreach, and giving extra support to our Wales projects as and when required, to aid development and growth within the region.

Each of our Projects is run by volunteer Project Leaders and supported by Regional Managers through recruitment and training of volunteers. You will support the Regional Managers so that they can manage more projects. This support could range from developing relationships with our food suppliers, researching local organisations to support with guest outreach, and recruiting new volunteer Project Leaders for the Area.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to talk confidently to external people about our Projects.​You will also be a good organizer, with the ability to manage multiple tasks within multiple Projects. You will have a passion for food and cooking, and be committed to our objectives and ethics.

This role will require some attendance at our Community Meals projects, which would include some evening and weekend work. Digital Product Officer

Ensuring our pages can be found easily by users, this role will analyse and report on performance data, including insights into user behaviour, and work with the team to make suggestions for improvements, ensuring all activity is insight-driven and audience focused. This covers end-to-end digital journeys from external sources, through the site and related platforms, and conversions and goal completions.

All of this involves excellent technical and people skills, working with a range of people at all levels, including colleagues, suppliers, partners who deliver our services, and supporters. We are looking for someone who is also very adaptable and comfortable to work in a changing environment as we develop our new digital approach, starting with a major project to transform our website.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and talented team in maximising income from a committed membership base.

Purpose of the role

• To provide excellent customer services as the main point of contact for Twins Trust's members, dealing with enquiries from new and existing members and updating membership records on the CRM database.

We're the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We’re determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We support and fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.

Job summary

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Corporate Partnerships Officer to join our small but mighty Partnerships and Philanthropy fundraising team. The team is made up of seven fundraisers focusing on securing high-value gifts with big impact, both from companies and from trusts and foundations.

Our perfect candidate will ideally have previous experience in fundraising and relationship management and will be confident in growing and managing a fundraising portfolio. We’re looking for a great relationship builder, someone who is self-motivated and creative with excellent research, writing, presentational and organisational skills.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager and Senior Corporate Partnership Officers, to manage our portfolio of corporate partnerships, maximising income and benefits through the delivery of excellent partnership stewardship and a great supporter experience. You'll have your own portfolio of partnerships as well as new business pipeline, including Charity of the Year collaborations, event management and support, partnerships with pharmaceutical companies and sponsorship and Cause Related Marketing (CRM) opportunities.

You'll be joining us at the start of our ambitious and exciting journey, to win more of and grow our strategic, high-value partnerships. You’ll be instrumental in helping our team to reach our ambitious fundraising targets and ultimately improving the lives of everyone affected by bowel cancer.

The Admissions Officer will join the Postgraduate Studies department in our Education and Training division. We are seeking someone experienced in university/further education admissions processes who is a team player, efficient, organised and flexible. They will be motivated to learn quickly on the job and proactively lead on admissions processes, joining at a crucial point in the annual student recruitment cycle for a busy department. The role is fixed-term for this purpose. It will involve regular interaction with a diverse range of people, both internal and external to the department, including prospective students, Programme Directors and Project Managers. A professional attitude and good interpersonal skills are essential to liaise effectively with a variety of staff and students. Additionally, a willingness to help and positive outlook shown through previous customer service and administrative experience is essential to work successfully in this student-facing role.

The successful candidate will benefit from joining a fast-paced environment with colleagues committed to providing a high-quality service and supporting an equitable and inclusive student experience. This role offers the unique opportunity to develop knowledge of NHS England commissions, particularly how they are implemented in university admissions processes. We also work in close partnership with University College London.

Location
Hybrid working (a mixture of onsite and home/remote working). Staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours at our London site.

AKF(UK) Partnerships Officers are part of the Global Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Partnerships team tasked with identifying funding partnerships and strengthening existing ones to support our strategic goals. Partnerships Officers manage a set of grants across a variety of themes and geographies. They also support engagement with European and Asian bilaterals, multilaterals and foundations to secure funding for ten multi-sector not-for-profit and forprofit agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) operating across Asia and Africa. This is all done in close collaboration with field units, global teams, and our partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Grants Management

• Manage a portfolio of grants through regular interface and coordination with AKF(UK)’s partnerships team, AKF(UK)’s programme finance team and relevant AKF/AKDN field units/agencies acting as a central resource for field units in donor best practice.

• Interface with donors about the implementation of ongoing grants to ensure strong, enduring relationships.

• Coordinate, review, and assure the quality of donor deliverables (e.g. work plans, monitoring and evaluation plans, staffing plans, budgets, close-out plans, donor troubleshooting).

• Ensure adherence with donor requirements, rules, and regulations, and that grant deliverables are produced on time and to a high standard.

• Coordinate contractual amendments, changes, and project adaptations, engage with donors in a pro-active and diplomatic way, and flag potential changes (e.g. budget revisions, extensions, risks) in advance to ‘trouble shoot’ and ensure smooth project implementation.

• Facilitate grant monitoring efforts including routine coordination meetings and as needed, support with donor steering committees, donor project visits, and donor monitoring missions.

• Undertake coordination and administrative tasks related to grants and support the maintenance and update of grant management tools and tracking systems (e.g. Award Information Management System (AIMS)).

• Ensure strong relationship cultivation throughout the grants cycle, anticipate, and plan for future funding and project extensions.

Mobilising Funds

• Coordinate and facilitate the development, review and quality assurance of expressions of interest, concept notes, and full proposals for funding opportunities.

• Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders as well as with donors, partners, and consortia to facilitate project design, align proposal and donor requirements, gather required legal and administrative documentation, and draft sections of proposals as needed.

• Coordinate processes of contracting and negotiation, engaging relevant stakeholders, and ensuring contracts ‘get over the line’ in a timely and efficient way.

• Contribute to management systems, such as AIMS.

Donor engagement and positioning

• Research, scan and source relevant information regarding new donors and partnership opportunities to identify potential funding matches and gather intelligence around European and Asian donors. 

Update donor profiles, researching and summarising latest donor strategies and using AIMS to update AKF/AKDN funding summaries.

• Develop positioning materials (e.g. presentations, capability statements, briefs, talking points), collaborating with communications teams, to enable effective donor engagement.

• Guide teams to make informed, effective decisions on which opportunities to pursue (including ‘Go No-Go’ requests).

• Identify and support cultivation of and pre-positioning with partner organisations to form or join consortia focused funding bids.

• Conduct due diligence on new partners in coordination with finance and partnerships teams.

Communicating practical lessons and results

• Engage communications teams to identify opportunities and support the development of content (e.g. social media campaigns, videos) that promote AKF and AKDN’s work and position us as ‘partners of choice’ in the sector.

• Participate in events (e.g. conferences, roundtables, policy forums) to share lessons, innovations and knowledge about our programmes that position us as ‘thought leaders.’

Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Senior Partnerships Manager, Deputy Directors or Regional Director for Europe & Asia.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree essential

• Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred

• Experience managing grants in complex organisations desirable
