 Summary of Role:

The Head of Donor Development & Impact is crucial in driving Choose Love's strategic and financial growth and impact. Choose Love has a fundraising target of approx. £20 million a year, this role plays a crucial part in securing those funds through donor development (approximately £5-10m) and specifically with Trusts & Foundations. You will help Choose Love achieve its strategic objective to increase and diversify income by driving donor engagement, fostering sustainable partnerships, and enhancing our impact reporting to ensure transparency and accountability in our grant-making initiatives. You will oversee the development and implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Framework for the organisation, working across teams to ensure the impact is measured and recorded effectively, with continual learning. This role requires a strategic, data-driven professional with a strong understanding of humanitarian issues and a passion for advancing the welfare of forcibly displaced communities.

The Director of Data, Evaluation and Learning  will ensure that we achieve our aim of embedding understanding and learning at the heart of everything we do, to help maximise our impact. You will ensure that rigorous evidence is both systematically used to drive impact for people living in Lambeth and Southwark, and synthesised to advance health equity in our place and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and adapt Impact on Urban Health’s evidence strategy 
• Coordinate and oversee our data function including the use of data to guide our work and the production of an annual publication providing an authoritative analysis of key qualitative and quantitative data on urban health in our boroughs of Lambeth & Southwark and beyond 
• Coordinate and oversee the synthesis of evidence on the impact of and lessons from projects funded by Impact on Urban Health 
• Coordinate and oversee the development of a repository of evidence on what works to improve urban health and the development of accessible summaries of available evidence 
• Establish and oversee clear processes for assessing the status of all IoUH-funded projects, capturing their learning and informing decisions on the appropriate stage and ongoing development priorities of IoUH-funded projects. 
• Support the design of projects and programmes, ensuring that design decisions are informed by relevant data and evidence
• Help develop impact goals for IoUH, coordinate and synthesise reporting against impact goals and outcome-focused KPIs 
• Ensure across Impact on Urban Health, teams get the support necessary to embed data, evaluation and learning in the development and execution of their strategies 
IoUH Leadership 
• Champion inclusive leadership and be an effective member of IoUH Director’s Team 
• Line management responsibility for Head of Data; Head of Programme Evaluation, Head of Place-Based Evaluation and Head of Learning 
• Other responsibilities that can reasonably be expected to help ensure the successful delivery of your role. 
Corporate responsibilities 
• Provide targeted support to other parts of the Foundation including supporting Foundation-wide efforts to synthesise evidence and produce well-coordinated impact reports
• Work with Operations to support the development and use of KPIs across the Foundation
• Work with People and Culture to support the Foundation’s learning and development programme, including the induction and development programme for Impact on Urban Health

Job purpose

At Ambitious about Autism, we're currently looking for an Employment Coach to join our team.

You'll support the digital transformation of the employability service by developing new and innovative ways to share information, advice and guidance with candidates. About the role

We are looking for an individual with substantial experience of working in government or statutory funding to be responsible for developing institutional donor relationships, both directly and in support of other members of the Institutional Funding team. Summary of key duties:

Executive Assistance:

The Director of Development & Partnerships is a senior role responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all fundraising and partnership initiatives at Glendower Preparatory School. This role is pivotal in ensuring the school’s financial stability and growth by building and nurturing relationships with alumnae, parents, donors, and community partners. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of philanthropy, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in fundraising and relationship building.

This is an exciting time to join the school as we launch an ambitious campaign to raise funds in support of our vision for Bursaries and implement our second year of our Development and Partnerships programme. 

Surrey Community Action exists to support Surrey’s voluntary sector, the diverse communities of Surrey, and other organisations who seek to work with both.  We do this in three main ways:

• Advocacy and Representation - ensuring that non-voluntary sector stakeholders understand the value of our sector and how to work together to achieve shared objectives.
• Services to the Voluntary Sector - providing services to Surrey’s voluntary sector that increase their effectiveness or fill gaps in their capability, capacity, and resilience.
• Services to the Surrey’s Communities - providing services directly to Surrey’s communities that support community action and address unsupported needs.

Much of our work is with other community organisations, including community building management groups, voluntary car scheme organisers, councils, and others, but we also run projects and activities targeted at individuals within communities, such as fuel poverty advice, and support to Surrey’s Gypsy and Travellers.

We have some income generating services, predominantly to other voluntary sector organisations.  We seek to offer excellent service to our clients, whether managing payroll, conducting DBS checks or delivering training and events.

We also manage the “Astolat” charity offices, providing high quality office accommodation and support to eight other VCFS organisations.

About The Role

To realise our ambitions to provide the best possible support to Surrey’s communities and voluntary sector, we are looking for a Head of Communities and Development that can:

• Help us secure funding for Surrey Community Action’s core activities and projects.
• Develop, support, and inspire a team of project officers to deliver our projects and activities.
• Contribute to the running of the organisation as part of the management team.
• Create and develop projects and services that meet unmet needs in Surrey

Securing Funding

You will help us secure funding for Surrey Community Action’s core activities and projects, working with all staff to prepare high quality funding proposals to Local Authorities, trusts, grant giving bodies, corporate partners and major donors.  You will also lead on negotiating renewals of funding and maintaining good working relationships with current commissioners and funders.

You will be comfortable working in collaboration with partners from across the voluntary and statutory sectors, always focusing on making the biggest difference to the people of Surrey.

Leadership and line management

This role looks after some of our community project officers who in turn provide information, advice, guidance, and support to a diverse range of stakeholders, including community buildings, rural housing enablers, Good Neighbours Schemes, Community Champions, Gypsy Roma and Traveller communities, and people in fuel poverty.

You will provide effective line management to our community project officers, focusing on developing them to excel in their roles and broaden their skills, making sure to lead by example and develop yourself alongside them.

Running the Charity

You will form an integral part of the management team, working in tandem with the Chief Executive, management team and Board of Trustees, supporting the charity in strategic leadership, performance management and development our projects and services.

Develop new projects and services

To succeed in this role, you will need to have or build a deep understanding of Surrey’s voluntary sector and communities.  You may design and conduct consultations and market research to deepen your knowledge and share it with peers and other stakeholders in ways tailored to our audiences.

The environment in Surrey is complex and changeable, so we are looking for someone who can flex themselves and this role so that Surrey Community Action can do better every day, who can recognise ways we can improve and provide even better support to our stakeholders, from local authorities, to charities and community groups, to individuals in need.

The Nuts and Bolts

Our offices are in Burpham, Surrey (GU4 7HL).  This role can be delivered from the office, or as a hybrid role with 2-3 days in the office per week.

You will report directly to the Chief Executive and be responsible for 5-6 project officers.  You will be an equal part of our small management team and contribute to our trustee board meetings.

We are committed to continued professional development and will support you to develop your skills even further.

You may have to travel across Surrey and sometimes beyond, so access to transport would be an advantage where public transport is not an option (we can support you into Access to Work scheme as needed).

This is a full-time role (35 hours per week), but that time can be flexible to accommodate family and caring commitments.

Job purpose

As part of the bid writing team be accountable for writing multi million pound winning bids for agreed contracts, tenders and frameworks in line with the agreed operating model, enabling United Response to retain and grow income in a sustainable way.

Key responsibilities

Bid writing

· Writing high quality and innovative responses in tenders and framework that are representative of United Response work in collaboration with Operation colleagues and Relationship Managers that will lead to winning multi million pound partnerships

· Working closely with the Principle Commercial Bid Writer, Heads of business development, operational subject matter experts to ensure that all tenders, are written to an excellent standard and meet necessary criteria within internal and procurement timeframes.

· Editing and copywriting content to provide consistent and engaging written submissions.

· To articulate and illustrate information provided to you as well as work up concepts into creative and innovative ideas, in line with The United Response strategy and brand. This will include research, example gathering, development of new initiatives and engaging internal and external stakeholders, to include in model development and submissions which will lead to significant increases in income.

· Working with the Principle Commercial Bid Writer to develop a library of sector leading stock responses ensuring tools, examples and information are kept up to date and properly represents the work we do

· Write excellent bids, that bring our offer to life and win UR the contracts

Budgets and Critical Analysis

· Develop comprehensive blue prints for each of our contracts, which will include:

o Rigorous and comprehensive cost benefit analysis for all of our services and bids.

o Experience of developing significant comprehensive budgets for bids to ensure that the ROI is met ensuring sustainable contracts.

o A full risk assessment for the contract to inform decision making for a bid no bid scenario.

Best Practice and Learning

· Keep abreast of latest innovations and research to include in responses.

· Work with colleagues in Operational, Quality and Practice teams to ensure the best practice is shared and knowledge and management information is both used in tenders and available to the organisation.

· Research and data collection for bids, contributing as actively to bespoke model design and innovation development.

· Evaluate and improve future submissions utilising bid feedback and good practice from successful bids, taking a lead and ownership of the Response Library.

Summary of role 

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a pivotal role for our Alliance, acting as deputy to the Executive Director (ED) and leading on operationalising our strategy to protect children from sexual exploitation and abuse online.
The successful candidate will oversee broad areas including people management; financial management; organisational culture; diversity, equity and inclusion; safeguarding; risk management; legal and compliance; and governance structures. They will work closely with the Executive Director and wider staff team to ensure highly effective internal processes, systems, controls, policies and procedures are in place to enable the impactful delivery of our strategy.
We require a highly experienced operational leader with a broad skillset and a demonstrable commitment to the values of WeProtect Global Alliance.

About WeProtect Global Alliance 

The internet was not created with children in mind and can be unsafe for children to explore. Every phone and computer is a potential gateway for offenders seeking to sexually exploit children. Our Alliance generates political commitment and practical approaches to make the digital world safe and positive for children, preventing sexual abuse and long-term harm.   

Our Alliance’s geographical reach is unprecedented: 102 countries are members along with 73 private sector companies, 113 civil society and 10 intergovernmental organisations. WeProtect Global Alliance is supported by a high-performing secretariat of eleven staff based in the UK and Belgium and is guided by an influential Global Policy Board. 

Job description 

1. Organisational leadership and people management

• Work with the ED and SMT to ensure a values-led and positive organisational culture is reflected throughout ways of working, internal communication, policies and processes, and all team activities.

• Line-manage Senior Management Team (SMT) members, operational roles and other roles as necessary (currently Head of Development, Head of Communications and Engagement, Head of Policy, Advocacy and Research, and Operations Manager).

• Chair weekly SMT meetings.

• Oversee human resources and people management processes, ensuring alignment with best practice in areas including recruitment, induction, performance management, safety, wellbeing, learning and development, and benefits.

• Ensure diversity, inclusion and equity (DEI) considerations are at the forefront of all work and decisions, working alongside our expert DEI Consultant.

• Oversee the bi-annual, in-person team retreat.

• Be a key point of contact for all team members, holding regular meetings across the staff team, to understand team members’ individual perspectives, priorities, ideas and interests.

• Provide wide-ranging advice, recommendations and high-level support to the ED.

• Deputise for the ED, leading the organisation in their absence.

2. Operational management

• Oversee the annual planning process, project management, and ongoing monitoring of the organisational Action Plan.

• Lead on the drafting, regular review, and effective implementation of wide-ranging organisational processes and policies, working with expert advisors, as necessary.

• Oversee effective contract management for partners, suppliers and consultants.

• Work with the Head of Development on proposal development, grant management and reporting, and ensuring ongoing compliance with donor requirements.

• Work with the Operations Manager to oversee functions including IT, information management, and equipment.

​2. Financial oversight

• Work with the Operations Manager (responsible for day-to-day financial management), budget holders, outsourced accountancy provider, external auditors in the UK and The Netherlands, and other financial specialists on areas including:
  • Financial systems, policies and controls
  • Annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasting and monitoring. 
  • Monthly management accounts

4. Risk management, governance and compliance

• Oversee organisational risk management, maintaining the Risk Register and ensuring robust controls are in place.
• Lead safeguarding work as the SMT Safeguarding Lead; working alongside the Participation Manager and Board Safeguarding Lead to ensure robust safeguarding policies, processes, training and a strong safeguarding culture, ensuring it is a key consideration throughout all organisational activity and decision-making.
• Lead on legal and regulatory compliance issues, seeking advice from lawyers in the UK, Belgium and The Netherlands, and other experts, as necessary.
• Ensure governance structures and processes are robust and compliant.
• Ensure adequate insurance cover is in place in all jurisdictions.
• Oversee data protection and cyber-security systems, policies and processes, ensuring compliance with best practice and legal obligations.
• Oversee crisis management processes, and work as a key member of any crisis management committees.

5. Stakeholder engagement

• Liaise with the Management Board and Global Policy Board on operational and governance issues, producing reports and presentations as required.
• Maintain strong and effective relationships with a broad range of external stakeholders including Alliance members, partners, consultants, service-providers, donors, lawyers, auditors, regulators, and advisors.
• Represent the Alliance at external events when required.

6. Wider organisational responsibilities

The Head of Fundraising is an exciting new role developed for the Society to increase fundraising and develop additional income streams to enhance the sustainability of the Society. They will help deliver the Transformation Plan, an exciting new project for Scotland’s oldest learned antiquarian Society to help deliver the Society’s vision: “Scotland’s past is for everyone to research, share, enjoy and protect, home and abroad”.

The Transformation Plan includes the acquisition and redevelopment of a B-listed building in central Edinburgh to co-create the most inclusive, low-carbon and heritage-rich space to work, visit and participate. This will become a heritage hub for Scotland’s past, helping to bring heritage alive for a wide range of public audiences. This role will provide the necessary vision, leadership, and fundraising skills which will enable the Society to achieve its fundraising targets and enhance its development program.

They will be an effective fundraiser and key contact for grant giving organisations, personal donations and legacies. They will report directly to the Director sharing collective responsibility to deliver the Society’s strategy and vision.

Initially on a 2.5-year fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension subject to funding, the post will work as part of the senior management team and liaise directly with staff, Councillors (trustees), members (known as Fellows) and other organisations and individuals to ensure the successful delivery of their responsibilities.

The post will have the following immediate priorities:

· Helping develop and submit a major stage one Development Phase National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) grant application in collaboration with the Director and others, creating an engaging and successful proposal and case for support (part of an overall c£6m Transformation Plan project)

· Development and delivery of a major fundraising campaign based on personal giving, grant applications and other fundraising activities

· Working with staff and Councillors to develop the required transformation of the Society to deliver maximum public benefit in line with the Society’s vision and mission

Main Responsibilities

Strategy and planning

· Development and delivery of a fundraising campaign (including grant funding, individual and organisational donations, and other fundraising activities) for a c£6m project, setting targets in collaboration with the Director and meeting them, creating engaging and successful proposals and cases for support

· Lead the annual fundraising planning process to produce effective strategies to achieve income targets across a range of revenue streams

· In cooperation with the Director, lead the development of a long-term fundraising strategy to achieve agreed long term Society goals and vision

· Identify new potential income streams and produce strategies to access these funds

Fundraising

· Build and manage an effective fundraising team (across the Society staff and volunteers as required) that delivers fundraising income meeting set targets

· Oversee the management of a grant and trust income programme, supporting staff as necessary and ensuring production of effective, high-quality proposals and reports

· Oversee the management of an individual giving programme, supporting staff as necessary and ensuring production of effective, high-quality donor development and reports

Senior Management

The Head of Fundraising is a member of the Society’s Senior Management Team (SMT) and as such the post-holder will be expected to play a proactive role in the management of the Society including:

· Organisational strategic planning and development

· Income and expenditure budget planning and management

· Advising members of SMT on the availability of funds and the viability of obtaining funds to support initiatives

· Contribute to leadership decisions on all aspects of policy, development and organisation

· Playing a significant role in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of Society strategy and action plans

· To participate as an active member of the SMT, attending meetings and producing reports as required

· Attending Finance, Audit and Risk Committee meetings to report and give advice on fundraising matters

Person Specification

The Head of Fundraising will have substantial fundraising and management experience, a talent for building relationships and a proven track record in securing funds from statutory sources, foundations, trusts and major donors. They will be a key contact for grant giving organisations, personal donations and legacies. They will report directly to the Director sharing collective responsibility to deliver the Society’s strategy and vision. As such they will need the following:

Requirements - essential

· At least three years’ experience in a similar role

· Demonstrable record of major capital fundraising leadership and delivery, ideally within a charitable organisation but others will be considered

· A track record of successful fundraising, including sizeable NLHF applications

· Experience of utilising the strength of an organisational brand for charity/business development

· Proven track record of meeting challenging income targets

· Proven ability to build, manage and develop key stakeholder, client and donor relationships including developing and managing individual donors and development of legacy giving

· Experience of developing and implementing strategic and business plans

Further Information

This post is an initial 2.5-year (30 month) full-time contract which will be extendible subject to funding. There will be a short probationary period during which time your skills and suitability for the position will be assessed. Development of fundraising for the Transformation Plan will be the immediate priority. A lot of work has already been undertaken by the Society in preparing for an NLHF application as part of this, but the skill and experience of this post will ensure it has the maximum chance of success. This will include liaising with others, including NLHF staff and our consultants, the More Partnership.

The tasks and role will develop in line with the requirements in that application and the implementation of the Transformation Plan and will be reviewed after the submission of the initial NLHF bid. However, the core responsibilities will remain the development and delivery of successful fundraising strategies, increasing income to the Society.

Background: Muslim Charities Forum (MCF) is the UK network for British Muslim-led Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations. MCF seeks to support, connect, and represent these organisations so that they can all experience the blessings of the collective. Through our network we support almost 300 charities and community organisations.

We aim to collectively build a more accountable, transparent, and efficient British Muslim-led Voluntary and Community Sector, to improve our ability—both as individual organisations and as a sector—to contribute to a more just and sustainable world. MCF has a small team, but our impact is far-reaching. Following a period of expansion, MCF is seeking an innovative, motivated and passionate individual to lead on its advocacy capacity building work, sector-wide advocacy work, and delivery of its strategic policy work.

The primary purpose of the role is to build capacity in Muslim-led Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations with differing scales of operating and programmatic focus areas. There will be a particular focus on those Muslim led organisations based in London.

You can expect to be leading on some of the areas as a priority in this role:

• Engaging in outreach with Muslim-led Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations.

• Producing relevant policy and advocacy capacity building materials suitable for those involved in Muslim-led Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations.

• Delivering capacity building engagements with those involved in Muslim-led Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations.

• Hosting roundtables and other group engagements to learn more about the policy and advocacy priorities of Muslim-led Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations.

• Strategically Managing a programmatic budget to outsource elements of MCF’s policy and advocacy capacity building initiatives.

• Provide guidance to MCF members and other organisations on navigating policy issues.

• Host and participate in MCF member roundtables, working groups and other events to learn more about their policy priorities and provide guidance where relevant.

• Coordinate research projects to develop bodies of evidence on matters relating to the Muslim-led Voluntary and Community Sector.

• Support the delivery of MCF’s advocacy campaigns and associated campaign activities.

• Commission external research and analysis to gather evidence to support MCF’s campaigns.

• Represent MCF in media engagement opportunities or requests for information from media stakeholders.

• Represent MCF at a range of events and other external engagements. 

Please note: This role is based in our office in London SE1 (closest Tube station Lambeth North) Monday to Friday.
