Age UK Islington is developing a new befriending service in the coming months. As part of this development, we have an exciting opportunity for a part-time role as a Befriending Coordinator.

This will involve supporting all aspects of service development, partnership building, volunteer recruitment, training and management and matching volunteers to clients for home visits, telephone befriending and/or activity-based befriending. The post holder will also be responsible for case recording, monitoring and service evaluation.

The role is for 15 hours per week; this may increase to 21 hours per week dependant on the success of future funding applications. There is flexibility around when you work these hours.

Candidates must have an interest in working with older people, excellent communication skills, organisational skills, experience of facilitating training and able to maintain accurate records and produce monitoring and evaluation reports. Ideally candidates will have the ability to manage their own workload and work independently and with initiative .

As Uplift’s Senior Political Adviser, you will be a skilled advocate, strategist and communicator able to secure political commitments relating to Uplift’s mission of a rapid and fair transition away from oil and gas production in the UK. Your role will sit within Uplift’s Politics Team and you will seek to build support for ambitious climate and just transition policies within UK parliament, and UK government. Uplift currently supports the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Climate Change, and this role will also help to provide strategic support to the group. With a new government and parliament being formed due to the general election, this is an exciting opportunity to join our team to secure the UKs transition away from fossil fuels.

The role

Core responsibilities will include:

• Develop avenues for engagement within UK parliament and Government Officials.

• Using persuasive skills, and strategic communications, advocate for new, progressive oil and gas policy, commensurate with the UKs climate objectives, and rooted in the principles of a just transition.

• Close collaboration with key partners, in coalitions and the wider environmental sector.

• Engagement with stakeholders including unions, think-thanks and caucuses to build and mobilise new alliances around progressive policies relating to the just transition away from oil and gas production in the UK.

• Representing Uplift externally at events, and fora in and around Westminster. 

• Line management responsibilities within the Politics Team. 

• Support the activities of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Climate Change.

We are delighted to have secured funding to set up and establish a robust impact and data collection process and database so that clear outcomes can be measured and collected for the different areas within our adoption support services. This is a new role and the postholder will play a key part in delivering on this work.

Working alongside Adoption Support colleagues, the Database Officer will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the database, ensuring data is kept up to date as well as inputting, monitoring and evaluating data and service user details.  They will also contribute to the collection of feedback and case studies from service users.

The Database Officer will produce comprehensive and tailored reports using both qualitative and quantitative data, derived from the new monitoring and evaluation system.  These evidence-based reports are produced for a variety of audiences and will contribute to evidencing the effectiveness of PACT’s adoption support services.

We are looking for someone with previous experience in an administrative support role, with database and/or data capture administration experience.  To succeed in this role, you will be proficient in producing reports from a database with a keen eye for accuracy and detail and have strong data analysis skills with an ability to derive meaningful insights.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Programme Associate to provide programmatic support to a portfolio of Internews’ projects in the Europe & Eurasia (E&E) region. The role will be part of the Internews’ headquarters E&E Project Management

Project Background:

The Strengthening Civil Society Representation of Women with Disabilities in Ghana programme commenced in May 2024 and is a 2-year project funded by the European Union. The programme aims to strengthen the capacity for organisations of people with disabilities (OPDs), and organisations of women with disabilities in the areas of management, communication, fundraising, coordination, advocacy, gender, climate change, networking and financial accountability. Sightsavers will build the capacity of two OPDs, namely Women with Disability Development and Advocacy Organisation (WODAO), and the ABAK Foundation. WODAO and the ABAK Foundation will then cascade the capacity building areas downstream to members and partners to strengthen their ability to claim their rights and hold duty bearers to account.

Overall objective

Sightsavers is commissioning a consultant to a conduct a climate change situational analysis with a disability lens in the 33 project districts in the Bono, Bono East, Ashanti, Oti and Volta regions.

The assessment will:

• Assess awareness
• Climate change impact
• Risks
• Climate change response and adaptations
• Climate change policy environment
• Opportunities for adaptation

Duration of Project

The consultancy is expected to take up to 45 days, ideally to start as soon as possible.

Outputs and Deliverables

• An initial proposal outlining how the consultancy will be conducted, including proposed desk review sources, data collection tools, methodologies and the timelines for delivering the consultancy.
• A final report covering the project purposes outlining above and recommendations for Sightsavers, including guidelines for mainstreaming climate change into the programme and for downstream partners.

Budget and payment schedule

The consultant can invoice against the following payment schedule:

• 40% at the end of Phase 2
• 60% at the end of Phase 4 

 Minimal qualifications for a Lead Consultant/ Team Members

• The consultant(s) must provide evidence of skills, experience and knowledge in climate change (essential) and disability inclusion (desirable).
• The consultant(s) must have experience in monitoring, evaluation, and research.
• The consultant(s) should have provided evidence of conducting climate change analysis or similar assessments along with examples of reports.
• The consultant(s) must demonstrate experience of working as an external consultant(s) for international organisations, the private sector and/or national development organisations.

About the Organisation

Together We Learn is a small international development charity with a vision to break the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia by enabling disadvantaged children to access quality education.

We have been working closely with our Ethiopian partner organisation for over 25 years to achieve this. Our UK team is a small, close- knit team that supports the fundraising, international communications, and project delivery of the Ethiopian team.

Our approach is to work alongside state education infrastructure, addressing a range of needs related to access to and quality of education, as well as children’s wellbeing.

Our work with schools includes school infrastructure projects - providing safe, local schools - and supporting teachers with training and resources to inspire children to flourish in the classroom. We also work closely with the children, their families and communities to understand and address the issues they face at home and how these impact their ability to attend and concentrate in school.

We are at the start of a new strategic phase with a focus on building the capacity of our Ethiopian partner organisation to shift the power and be more locally-led in our work.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with a connection to Ethiopia, or from the African diaspora.

Project Coordinator

The Role: The Project Coordinator supports our Ethiopian Projects team deliver, monitor, evaluate and report on our various project activities. The role involves regular communication with both our regional project teams and management, supporting the team to meet project deadlines, driving continual programme improvement through monitoring, evaluation and learning, and supporting the UK Chief Executive with project reporting and funding proposals.

Reports to: Chief Executive
Hours: 15 hours per week (part-time role 40%)
Salary: £8,620 per annum (21,550 pro rata)
Location: London office, preference for hybrid working, remote applications considered, employee must be living in the UK.

Responsibilities

Supporting project delivery (70%)

• Regularly liaising with our project teams in Ethiopia to support them to monitor project deliverables alongside project plans in a timely manner and ensure changes are communicated to relevant parties
• Support with monitoring, evaluation and learning processes by ensuring monitoring and evaluation deadlines are met, collating, analysing and formatting data for review, leading discussions on impact review and supporting discussions for continuous programme development. Including managing office volunteers to support our work in these areas.
• Support the Ethiopian team to track and understand markers of good quality, sustainable projects and to continuously improve upon these.
• Supporting the Ethiopia team to develop projects, applying learning from evaluations and developing new project concepts.
• Supporting the team to include and prioritise beneficiary perspective to lead project design, implementation and monitoring procedures 
• Support the Ethiopian team to develop, include and adhere to all organisational policies and procedures, with special attention to safeguarding.

Fundraising (20%)

• Reporting to donors and funders on project delivery, ensuring deadlines for reporting are met, collating data and Ethiopian team feedback, and writing up funder reports in a timely manner.
• Supporting the Chief Executive to research potential funders and prepare and evidence funding proposals.
• Drafting template funder proposals.
• Occasionally attending funder events
• Support the UK team to communicate with supporters via monitoring the fundraising inbox, liaising with international volunteers, tour guests or other queries.

Other (10%)

• Support with building the capacity of the Ethiopian team through working practices and training in relevant areas.
• Communicate about our work with stakeholders via writing blogs, newsletter and Annual Report chapters.

Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Development and Events Coordinator on a full-time, permanent basis. 

Main purpose of the role:

This is a pivotal position within the dynamic and successful Development and Engagement team at Brighton College, United Kingdom’s School of the Decade. You will be joining us at an exciting time, as we build on the successful completion of another capital campaign, and launch a new regular giving appeal to our alumni community.

The role will demand close involvement in all aspects of fundraising and event coordination for Brighton College, with a particular focus on fundraising operations and donor care activity. It will bring the incumbent into contact with parents, staff, Old Brightonians, corporate sponsors and other supporters.

This is a varied role that would suit an ambitious individual looking to start their career in the education/charity/events sector, or for someone with transferable skills who would like to work in the third sector.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
Fundraising:
•Process all campaign and regular donations and liaise with donors throughout the giving journey.
•Support the Senior Development Officer in the execution of planned fundraising appeals and projects (e.g. capital, annual, awards, corporate sponsorship).
•Oversee the prospect pipeline on the development database (Raiser’s Edge).
•Create guest bios ahead of key school events and support the department’s annual fundraising research programme.
•Coordinate the sending of regular tailored stewardship communications to supporters and external stakeholders.

Events:
•Create event collateral for Development and Engagement events.
•Coordinate key fundraising and stewardship events.
•Act as a key liaison for event guests before and during events.
•Help to manage the event/project management systems for the department.
•Attend fundraising and engagement events as and when required.
 

Department Administration:
•Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails.
•Keep accurate records for income and expenditure.
•Update contact details for constituents on the development database.
•Manage the department diary.
•Coordinate department meetings, prepare agendas and produce minutes.
•Provide administrative support to the Director of Development and Engagement as and when required (calendar management, projects, correspondence).
•Organise arrangements for prospect and donor meetings.
•Organise travel logistics (flights, hotels, visas etc.) and produce comprehensive itineraries for overseas fundraising trips.

The successful candidate will have:
•Exceptional interpersonal skills and the confidence and ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break (37.5 hours per week). Attendance at some evening and weekend events will be required, for which time off in lieu will be offered.

Remuneration:

A salary in the range of £26,000-£27,500 per annum will be offered depending on experience.

Holidays:
23 days per annum, plus bank holidays increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after 2 years of service (of which 3 days need to be taken between Christmas and New Year when the College is closed).
