About the role

The Faculty Impact Manager will take a lead role in the development, coordination and delivery of research impact activities within King’s Business School (KBS) and the Dickson Poon School of Law (DPSoL), working closely with the faculties’ Associate Deans (Impact) and an Impact Officer for both faculties, line managed by this position, as well as colleagues in the Research and External Engagement teams.  The role-holder will provide input into both faculties’ impact strategies and ensure their implementation by:

Providing expert support and advice for academic staff and faculty-based research centres in planning their impact activities at all stages of a research project’s trajectory.

Supporting the College Impact Committee and working closely with academic colleagues in both faculties to lead on the development and support of impact case studies for REF and other HEI assessments involving impact (for example, KEF).

Working closely with relevant academic and PS staff colleagues within the two Faculties and the wider College to enable strategic collaborations and knowledge-sharing for greater impact possibilities.

Leading strategic initiatives to maintain and enhance the impact culture of both faculties.

Role Overview
This role will co-create, develop and evaluate different governance tools, frameworks, methods and metrics for promoting Good Work through technological disruption and the innovation lifecycle. This will include approaches which involve, anticipate, mitigate and evaluate systems ‘in the wild’.

Working with the wider team the Researcher will deliver action-research projects which evaluate the impacts of algorithmic systems, supporting industry Learning Partners using a range of methodologies.

The successful candidate will have enthusiasm to work at the intersection of social, legal, technical and economic questions. Strong oral and written communication skills, and an ability to maintain respectful, mutually beneficial relationships with industry partners is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Advance the mission, goals, and ethos of our organisation
• Understand the importance of Good Work as an ethical and legal framework guiding the implementation of responsible AI
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with industry partners through action research projects
• Support, collaboratively conduct and lead high quality research, including survey research and analysis and action research projects
• Undertake and participate in additional research projects on workplace impacts of AI and AI governance
• Write blogs, research papers and reports and deliver presentations with an understanding of different audience needs
• Develop, lead and deliver training to professionals working in AI governance where appropriate
• Support the wider team in identifying potential funding opportunities and developing funding proposals and meeting funders
• Respond to relevant items of public policy, and engagement of our network at events
• Supporting and/or coordinate meetings, workshops, roundtables and parliamentary activities relating to workplace governance of AI
• Support the establishment and development of the Sandbox architecture through the drafting and revision of key governance documents and agreements
• Tracking and reporting to the relevant team/people on individual work that contributes to the impact of IFOW’s work

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Knowledge of policy and practices relating to governance of algorithmic systems
• Applied or academic experience researching the social, economic, legal and ethical impacts of algorithmic systems
• An interest in the relationship between governance, political economy and job quality
• An understanding, through academic or professional training, of the basic workings of algorithmic technologies
• Good face-to-face communication and the ability to be at ease with people from a wide range of backgrounds
• A strategic mindset and the ability to offer and receive constructively critical feedback
• The ability to work both collaboratively and independently, comfortable with making decisions at pace and sometimes in a changing and uncertain environment
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to stay on top of many large and small tasks simultaneously, as well as a commitment to quality and attention to detail
• A strong commitment to the goals and ethos of IFOW

Location: London, hybrid. One day per week the team co-work at Somerset House.

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum

Coordinate and support the Scottish Peer Educator project aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of deceased and living organ and tissue donation amongst South Asian communities across Glasgow, Edinburgh and surrounding areas. The peer educator co-ordinator will manage a group of South Asian volunteers to attend events and deliver messaging on kidney health, disease and organ and tissue donation in partnership with the policy lead (Scotland).
 
The Scottish Organ and Tissue Donation Peer Educator project is a long-standing partnership with the Scottish Government. The project aims to increase awareness of deceased organ and tissue donation, and living kidney donation, among people within the South Asian communities in and around Glasgow and Edinburgh, covering the Hindu, Muslim and Sikh faiths. The project involves working with peer educators (volunteers) from South Asian communities who attend events and talk to the communities about organ and tissue donation.
 
The successful candidate will have an awareness of organ donation and experience in effective community outreach and engagement with South Asian communities. You will be an excellent empathetic communicator, both written and verbal as well as being receptive and approachable with a “person-centred” approach.
 
You will have knowledge and awareness of the geography of the South Asian communities in Glasgow and Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. In addition, you will need to have a full driving licence and access to a car.

The IT Service Desk Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the IT strategy and operational plans which supports the charity’s vision, mission and objectives. 

This role will be responsible for ensuring that all IT Support services are successfully delivered across the charity by fulfilling line management responsibilities for all IT support team members, implementation and development of service level agreements (SLA) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), implementation of service desk best practices, documentation of support processes, working with Head of IT on the creation and management of policies, monitoring of IT Policy adherence, creation of user facing communications and documentation, root cause analysis, trend analysis, creation and presentation of IT metrics, creation and ownership of a service catalogue, ownership of ticket management and associated processes, ensuring adequate onsite IT presence in our Cambridge office.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Ticket management and ownership

· Creation and implementation of SLA’s

· Responsibility of all tickets ensuring they are actioned in a timely manner in line with SLA’s

· Ensure ticket progress and closures notes are well documented with troubleshooting and full resolution details

· Conduct route cause analysis

· Conduct major incident reviews

· Feedback to team on ticket trends and common issues occurring

· Reporting of any potential security threats

· Line management of IT support team members (1st and 2nd line support Analysts)

Policy Management

· Creation and adaptions of IT policies subject to Head of IT sign off

· Monitoring and championing of IT policy adherence

Documentation

· Creation and management of IT support process documentation

· Creation of user facing guides, instructions and media to aid service delivery and user education

· Creation and management of a service catalogue

Metrics

· Creation and sharing of regular IT support metrics with IT management.

· Creation, definition and implementation Key Performance Indicators for IT Support team

General

· Implementation of ITSM best practices and framework e.g. ITIL

· Input into budget planning with Head of IT

· Collaboration with System and Security Manager to feed into continuous service improvement

What we are looking for:

· Relevant formal qualifications or relevant experience

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Support Services Manager

As the Foodbanks Support Services Manager you will be delivering the foodbanks advice services, managing the relationships with partner organisations referring to the Foodbank and managing and developing the the Foodbank’s school & family support activities.

Key Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for the orientation of new organisations who will be referring to the Foodbank and the delivery of high-quality training on the referral process to all partners as needed.
• Through regular engagement with those organisations, you will forge strong relationships to ensure they provide an advice-first approach, maximising the level of help local people get before being referred to the Foodbank.
• You will develop, monitor and co-manage a team of volunteer signposters who provide support to the Foodbank’s clients
• You will manage the Foodbank’s Family Engagement Lead, working in and with local schools
• Working closely with the Cirencester Foodbank’s Citizens Advice team and their Citizens Advice manager, you will ensure Foodbank clients are prioritised in obtaining further advice, monitoring the advisors’ caseloads and ensuring regular reporting
• Ensure that Foodbank clients are consulted and feedback gathered to make our services efficient, helpful, relevant, and respectful. Additionally, collect stories from clients to help illustrate the charities impact, issues that lead people into food poverty and enable further advocacy.
• Maintain the Foodbank’s client database with details of support provided
• Produce reports to agreed deadlines

Key Skills and Personal Attributes:

• With excellent written and verbal communication and relationship management skills, you will inspire and motivate existing and prospective partner organisations to share the Foodbanks vision to end the need for Foodbanks.
• You will have strong IT skills which will enable you to take advantage of the Foodbanks database, project and team management systems

• You will be tenacious and able to embrace, innovate and shape the role and the Foodbank’s support service.

Fundraising Manager

We’re at an exciting stage of expansion and are looking for a passionate and driven individual to lead our income generation strategy. In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate closely with the CEO and leadership team to shape and execute a dynamic plan that ensures sustainable growth and long-term impact.

Role Description

The role holder will be a confident natural leader able to clearly set out and communicate a compelling future income generation direction for TDS. Additionally, the role holder will be a critical thinker who utilises real time data and past and future trends to make informed decisions, analyse past and current results in order to identify emerging opportunities, and embraces a continuous learning mindset that values both successes and failures.

Role tasks

• Update and oversee TDS’ fundraising strategy, plans and related targets by consulting with and securing the support of our Fundraising group.

• Work closely with the CEO to explore new fundraising initiatives and then evaluate and monitor progress vs goals.

• Support the CEO in identifying, developing and writing bids and grant applications. • Identify, develop and maintain relationships with community and corporate partners that support fundraising, pay as you earn, gifts-in-kind and volunteer engagement.

• Oversee fundraising events and activities undertaken by community and corporate partners, groups and individuals.

• Inspire the TDS fundraising staff and volunteer team, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability for income generation.

• Drive a refreshed telemarketing campaign to identify, acquire and engage corporate partners.

• Manage a team of volunteer Fundraisers who will help to deliver against actions in the fundraising plan.

• Review, refresh and guide TDS’ external communication strategy.

• Working closely with the CEO to represent Together Dementia Support across agreed public events and platforms.

• Develop and maintain supportive relationships with the Board of Trustees and lead interactions with the Fundraising and Communications groups.

• Create a positive TDS supporter experience that encourages sustained engagement through good stewardship.

• Work in a manner that always facilitates inclusion and empowerment, particularly of people with dementia and their carers.

• Provide reports for the CEO and the Board of Trustees.

•Any other role-related tasks as required by the CEO.

About the Role

Regional Managers are responsible for leading our work which involves growing, developing and maintaining the employer and education partnerships that deliver the Career Ready programme. This includes the Local Advisory Board, local authorities (key stakeholders), schools (we have a member of staff in each school who coordinates), the Developing the Young Workforce Regional Group, and the many employer organisations and their people who volunteer as mentors, provide paid internships and deliver masterclasses.

We are working in partnership with RABI who, at the heart of farming, provide practical, financial and mental health support across England and Wales and are seeking a Regional Manager to be the RABI lead for volunteering and community engagement across the North West region. 

RABI’s grants empower farming people to become financially resilient, so short-term monetary problems don’t create negative life-changing impacts. Their mental health support builds emotional resilience to meet the many challenges that farming brings.

The Regional Manager’s responsibilities include the researching, developing and supporting local community fundraising across the region. Working closely with volunteers, county committees and local partners – developing, delivering and evaluating new initiatives to reach new audiences, grow support for RABI and make a difference for the farming community. 

You will:

• Demonstrate relevant experience and proven track record within volunteering and community engagement / fundraising.
• Have a good understanding of volunteer motivations, with the ability to manage and work with volunteers and / or local communities.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written, a clear and confident presentation style, and the ability to carry out public speaking, handling press / media enquiries and use of social media.

As Talitha Arts’ Therapeutic Arts Programme Manager, you will be responsible for managing Talitha Arts’ programmes, partnerships and practitioners, working with a wide range of stakeholders. You will come from an arts, management or therapeutic arts background (in any field) and have experience developing programming, managing people/volunteers, and growing partnerships.You will be committed to growth and development and passionate about the power of the creative arts to bring healing, restoration and transformation. You will have experience and a heart for working with vulnerable people, devising and developing creative arts workshops and training sessions, and will be willing to work flexibly with therapeutic intent but outside a clinical framework.

This position is home-based with regular travel within London for workshop, training and meetings (travel costs will be reimbursed). Working hours are flexible throughout the week and can be either part time or full time depending on the candidate (maximum of 30hrs per week).Talitha Arts also provides learning and development opportunities, travel for work within London and 3 extra days at Christmas.

Talitha Arts is creative arts charity that delivers creative arts workshops that benefit the mental health and wellbeing of those who have experienced trauma (through trafficking, living with dementia, domestic and sexual abuse, homelessness) and/or are living with mental health problems, addiction or disability. We are a small team comprising our Artistic Director (Executive), Fundraiser and Therapeutic Consultant. You will be managing 15 self-employed practitioners who work on a freelance basis.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Managing and developing all aspect of Talitha Art’s therapeutic arts workshop programming 

• Overseeing all programming, coordinating teams and managing Practitioner Coordinators

• Overseeing the planning and evaluation process of all programmes, including liaising with partners, monitoring and reporting

• Advising on creative and therapeutic processes

• Helping to create and develop new programme strategies in collaboration with the Artistic Director to ensure best practice

BACKGROUND 

The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to 2.7 million* means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.  When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.  

Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma.  Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK. 

The new UK government’s Children’s Wellbeing Bill outlined in the King’s Speech, includes a requirement for free school breakfast clubs in every English primary school. This is a fantastic start towards ending child morning hunger. Magic Breakfast’s influence will be instrumental to ensuring school breakfasts are introduced in a way that is hunger-focused and barrier free. In 2021, the Scottish Government, pledged a not yet enacted promise to provide breakfast to primary children. 

Thousands of secondary school children are at risk of losing their free school breakfasts from September next year. For many of these students, this is their only opportunity to have a nutritious meal before facing a demanding school day, including taking exams. 

Solutions across all UK nations are currently either not yet actioned or are severely underserving the current need. JOB PURPOSE 

Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good. The role of the Policy and Public Affairs Manager is to support us to deliver on this mission through influencing governments to address child morning hunger and the underlying systemic causes, in order to give every child the opportunity to reach their full potential. 

The Policy and Public Affairs Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping policy initiatives and influencing decision makers across Westminster and Whitehall. Specifically, you will help ensure the new Early Adopters Programme – the government’s pilot breakfast scheme in England – is hunger-focused and puts children and young people at its centre. This in turn, will inform the national rollout of primary school breakfast provision across England from September 2026 – a policy which you will also work to influence. In tandem, you will be responsible for informing and shaping how breakfast is included and positioned in the Children’s Wellbeing Bill.

More widely, you will keep abreast of political developments relevant to Magic Breakfast, identifying opportunities to respond, influence and shape the debate. You will be able to put complex policy ideas across in simple and effective terms both in person and through reports and briefings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and lead Magic Breakfast’s influencing strategy to shape and inform school breakfasts within the Children’s Wellbeing Bill 

• Engage thoroughly in the legislative process to shape how breakfast is positioned, to ensure the law protects and supports children and young people at risk of hunger 

• Influence and shape the scope of the Early Adopter’s Programme to inform long-term school breakfast policy across England 

• Work with ministers, politicians, civil servants and advisors to help shape the national rollout of school breakfasts across England 

• Identify and produce high-quality evidence-based responses to new policy developments, sector reports and consultations from Government, advisory bodies, other political parties and membership organisations
