Community Fundraising Officer (South)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Fundraising Officer to join our team, covering the South region. Based within easy reach of our London Head Office, you’ll play a vital role in generating income and building lasting relationships to support families in need.

Our charity

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that provides a welcoming ‘Home from Home’ where families with a sick child in hospital can stay. But we’re more than bricks and mortar, our friendly, caring staff are there to support families when they really need it.

Hospital can be a lonely and scary place for anyone, but especially a child. Providing around 3,500 families a year with somewhere to stay together just minutes from the hospital means that they can be by their sick child’s side and have one less thing to worry about.

The Role

This is a varied and rewarding community fundraising role, focused on building strong relationships and delivering income growth across the South.

You will engage and support individuals, schools, community groups and local businesses to fundraise, delivering excellent stewardship and supporter care.

You’ll recruit participants for both ‘run your own’ and third-party events, while developing long-term relationships including with families connected to the charity.

Working collaboratively with House Teams and colleagues, you’ll help increase awareness, manage supporter activity, track income, and maximise opportunities through partnerships and communications.

You’ll also represent the charity at events and within the community.

This role requires a proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet income targets.

 About you

 We’re looking for someone who is passionate about community fundraising and motivated by building meaningful relationships.

You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will equally be as comfortable supporting families who stay with us who want to fundraise, as you are presenting to a room full of students, or potential volunteers.

You have good organisational skills and are comfortable working to objectives and targets. You are able to work with a level of autonomy and innovation to develop your fundraising portfolio and to increase our profile particularly in the areas close to our houses.

Ultimately this is a great role for anyone who loves community fundraising and understands that no two days are the same.

Project Manager (Cascade Wellbeing Project)

Part Time – 21 hours (3 days) per week

Salary £24,000 (£40,000 FTE)

 

We are seeking a Project Manager to deliver the Cascade Project – a partnership between the St Benedict’s Centre and the Diocese of Rochester. The project aims to develop a programme of initiatives and interventions to support frontline church leaders (lay and ordained, including Headteachers of church schools) with their wellbeing.

The project has been under development for the past year. The Project Manager will lead the project from development to implementation. Funding has been committed by the Church Commissioners for the first 4 years of the implementation period.

The Project Manager will provide overall leadership for the Cascade project, taking responsibility for setting culture and strategy and vision, developing strong and successful relationships with key external partners, delivering an imaginative programme (in person and online) to support the wellbeing of lay and ordained church leaders (including Headteachers of Church Schools) in the Diocese of Rochester and beyond, and ensuring that there are sufficient resources available for Cascade to flourish.

Candidates should have experience of leadership in a church setting with project management experience.  You should have an understanding of wellbeing issues for frontline workers and knowledge of a variety of therapeutic processes and other interventions.  You will have excellent organisational and communications skills.

As Fundraising Lead- South, you will lead Philanthropy and Corporate fundraising across your region, developing relationships with high‑net‑worth individuals, senior business leaders and corporate partners. 

You will manage Centre Fundraising Managers, and support them on planning and prioritisation, work with Fundraising Boards as appropriate, and share best practice across Maggie’s. You will also help develop new fundraising opportunities. 

This role requires a confident and collaborative leader who can coach teams, manage multiple stakeholders, work independently across a large region, representing Maggie’s with clarity and credibility.

There are four fundraising leads covering Scotland, North and North Wales, Midlands and South Wales and South. This role will work closely with the following centres: Barts, Royal Marsden, West London, Royal Free, Cambridge and Southampton (Kent, Poole, Bristol – not yet open).

As Crimestoppers’ Regional Manager for the South of England (Devon & Cornwall, Avon & Somerset), you’ll play a pivotal part in helping protect the public, empowering local people, and supporting the agencies working to prevent and solve crime.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Regional Manager to represent Crimestoppers across the area. You’ll work closely with law enforcement and community partners to design and deliver meaningful crime‑prevention campaigns, while also coordinating cross‑border and national initiatives with organisations such as ROCUs and the NCA. You’ll empower local volunteer committees to thrive, act as a spokespeople for Crimestoppers in local and regional media, and drive funding opportunities that help expand our impact.

This role variety, and the chance to genuinely make a difference. We’re seeking someone with strong project and budget management skills, confidence under pressure, and the ability to build strategic relationships. Experience in or significant knowledge of the voluntary sector, media campaigning, or policing practice would be an advantage. The Role

You’ll work closely with the Head of Income Generation to grow income through:

You’ll also line manage our Fundraising & Partnerships Officer and help strengthen the overall supporter and client experience across the organisation.

This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same.

What You’ll Be Doing

Business Development & Income Growth

• Growing income through corporate partnerships and business development activity
• Increasing bookings and commercial opportunities across our conferencing and catering offer
• Supporting the promotion and development of HomeGround Café and other YMCA social enterprise initiatives
• Identifying and developing new income streams and partnership opportunities
• Building strong relationships with local businesses and regional partners

Corporate Partnerships & Fundraising

• Developing and managing a pipeline of corporate supporters and prospects
• Securing sponsorships, CSR partnerships and employee fundraising opportunities
• Building long-term, high-value relationships with businesses and supporters
• Working collaboratively across teams to maximise opportunities and impact

Stewardship & Supporter Experience

• Delivering an excellent experience for corporate clients and supporters
• Building long-term engagement and retention
• Using Donorfy CRM to manage supporter information and reporting accurately

Leadership & Performance

• Line managing and supporting the Fundraising & Partnerships Officer
• Monitoring performance, income targets and KPIs
• Using insight and reporting to improve performance and decision-making

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

• commercially minded but values-driven

• comfortable managing multiple priorities
• passionate about making a difference to young people and communities

You’ll ideally have:

• experience in fundraising, sales, partnerships or business development
• experience building and managing B2B relationships
• a track record of achieving targets and delivering results
• strong communication and relationship-building skills
• the ability to spot opportunities and turn them into action
• experience working collaboratively across teams

Experience within the charity sector is helpful but not essential. We are open to candidates from commercial backgrounds who are motivated by purpose and impact.
