We're looking for a proactive, adaptable and engaging individual with proven experience of delivering excellent customer or supporter care to join our team as a Central Community Fundraising & Engagement Assistant!
You'll get to work with our fundraisers and teams across the Fundraising & Marketing Division to help build lasting relationships with our supporters, plus enable the Regional Fundraising & Engagement team to deliver exceptional support to individuals, groups and corporate partners who raise vital funds and awareness for our work.

About the Role
As Central Community Fundraising & Engagement Assistant, you will be responsible for the delivery of central fundraising and engagement support to regional supporters. You will be the first point of contact for incoming enquiries and will proactively communicate with supporters across the department, using relationship fundraising techniques to provide an excellent supporter experience and build long term relationships. Our successful candidate will also ensure processes and materials are in place to enable staff and supporters to carry out their fundraising in a compliant and effective way.
You will:
- Be point of contact for regional supporters and provide an excellent supporter experience across multiple channels
- Be responsible for maintaining and updating supporter records, fundraising activity and communication history
- Ensure supporters have the fundraising materials needed to deliver successful, enjoyable and compliant activities
- Assist in the creation and delivery of regular and engaging communications to both internal and external audiences, ensuring data is accurate and contact preferences are adhered to
- Maintain oversight and accurate recording of income and expenditure for the team, including regular reporting of the performance of our supporter's online giving platforms, donation coding and tracking team expenditure
- Provide central support to the regional teams, incl. coordinating logistics for departmental meetings and events
- Support the Challenge Events team in supporter stewardship and event delivery
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Proven experience of delivering exceptional fundraiser/customer care
- Experienced relationship manager, able to quickly build successful relationships with colleagues, supporters and suppliers
- Excellent project management skills and highly organised
- Impeccable attention to detail and the ability to work independently without supervision
- First-class interpersonal, prioritisation and communication skills, both verbal and written
- The willingness to carry out duties outside office hours in the case of an emergency appeal

- Lead the Events team to review and overhaul our current events programme so that we are maximising net income and ROI as well as meeting the needs of our supporters and local community, and building connections and long-term relationships with our events supporters
- Work across the Retail, Fundraising and Communications directorate to maximise opportunities for contact mapping, cross-sell and support the activity of other teams within the directorate (including but not limited to stock donations, sponsorship of committee-led events, pro bono support, gifts in kind etc.)
- Be responsible for the implementation of the budgets and delivery of income and expenditure against the plans
- Bring the Events and Partnerships teams together to ensure that we are seizing opportunities to integrate the programmes, for instance through corporate sponsorships of events, employee volunteering or participation, donated goods for raffles and auctions, match funding and more
- Develop relationships with colleagues across the Public Fundraising Team, wider directorate and organisation to ensure that opportunities for engagement, integration and promotion of events and partnerships are maximised and publicised

MAIN PURPOSES OF THE JOB
The Stella Maris (SM) Regional Port Chaplain will promote the vision, mission and values of SM in caring for all seafarers and fishers by helping to meet their pastoral and spiritual needs. They will recruit, train and support SM staff and volunteers for the port and will maintain good relations with local parishes and the local diocese. They will work ecumenically with members of other Christian maritime societies with whom SM works.
1. To meet the welfare and pastoral needs of all seafarers and fishers equally according to their needs and wishes. To be an advocate on their behalf, upholding the dignity of each. Through regular and frequent ship visiting, to understand the working and living conditions of the seafarer and fishers and be able to work for justice and for the well-being of all crew members without distinction.
2. To address the communication needs of seafarers, providing transport, news, and access to telephone and internet facilities.
3. To address the welfare needs of seafarers and fishers, including support with money transfers, hospitality, and crisis support, e.g. abandonment, injury and death, detainment, bereavement, advice and access to medical care.
4. To meet the ecclesial, spiritual, and sacramental needs of Catholic seafarers and fishers; to facilitate the religious and spiritual needs of others and to be a pastor to all, sharing one’s faith as appropriate.
5. To participate in SM conferences, ongoing formation and other professional courses as required.
6. To supporting seafarer centre functioning.
7. To recruit, train, develop and retain a SM ship visiting volunteering team.
8. To represent SM on the local Port Welfare Committee(s), to include attending such meetings and submitting reports.
9. To liaise and maintain good working relationships with all port stakeholders, including the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, the International Transport Workers’ Federation, port health, harbour masters, dockers, security, and shipping agents.

Stella Maris UK is a well-known and respected charity within the maritime industry We are the largest ship visiting network in the world. As a Regional Port Chaplain, you will be responsible for being the face of the charity when visiting ships, seafarers, fishers and their families. You will also be representing the charity at meetings, conferences, events and any other required functions. You will need to be effective, efficient, well organised, confident and comfortable in working with all other stakeholders, organisations and charities whilst undertaking various tasks in and out of the port environment.
The role will also require interactions and communication with various staff members at head office, the Senior Area Port Chaplain and other members of the team, as well as communicating and building relationships with local Catholic parishes. You may also be asked to attend various meetings or gatherings where you would be asked to give a presentation on the work of Stella Maris.
It will be vitally important to be flexible whilst working within this role and environment using as much effective time management as possible, but remaining creative and using initiative, when necessary, in certain situations and circumstances.
The role of chaplain can often be a lonely and sometimes isolated role that may require some out of hours working. Things do not always go according to plan and sometimes you may not be welcomed onboard. The role can be challenging mentally, emotionally and sometimes physically (long, steep gangways to board ships). You will be part of a team that has chaplains spread out through the South of England and Wales, as well as being part of a larger team of chaplains in the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Chaplains in the South of England and Wales gather together for a retreat and social time once a year, and the whole organisation will also meet annually for a retreat and staff conference.

The Baobab Centre is a non-residential therapeutic community that supports young asylum seekers and refugees who have experienced human rights abuses and have sought asylum in the UK as unaccompanied minors. Our two focus areas are rehabilitation and justice.

Role Outline
The Head of Fundraising will be instrumental in the instigation, implementation and completion of the Trust’s long term funding strategy. This important role leads on the Trust’s approach to individual giving, legacies, campaigns and community fundraising. The role plays an important part in raising vital unrestricted income and will act as the connection point with our loyal supporters. The role will lead and develop a fundraising team, working closely with the Community and Heritage team and volunteers.

The Fundraising team plays a vital role in income generation and is responsible for raising funds to cover the cost of providing our care. Along side this we work closely with the marketing team and use fundraising functions such as our events to raise awareness of the Hospice and the work we do, securing as many new supporters as possible.
The Fundraising Events Officer will be responsible for planning, organising and delivering a calendar of fundraising events with a key emphasis on income, supporter experience and supporter recruitment. Collaborate closely with our Senior Fundraising Manager to identify funding opportunities, develop compelling proposals, support individual giving and contribute to bid writing for projects that align with CSE’s strategic goals.
Pay and conditions
- The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) but will consider a minimum of 30 hours.
- The salary for the role will be £27,121 to £32,486
- You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
- Write compelling funding pitches for projects or fundraising campaigns.
- Represent CSE at external events to promote our work, support horizon scanning and identify future partners for the fundraising team to work with.
- Maintain accurate and up to date fundraising content on website, all other CSE communications channels and third-party platforms.
- Support the running of online and in-person events to raise awareness of CSE’s work with key stakeholders and potential funders.
- Steward current individual supporters, building engagement through a supporter journey.
- Develop campaigns and appeals to engage with new audiences and encourage new supporters.
- Ensure all income and donations are processed, and acknowledged appropriately, including using systems for accurately managing supporter data.
- Research Trusts and Foundations to identify prospects with objectives which align with CSE’s strategic goals. Collate this information in an appropriate, accessible format.
- Develop creative ways of presenting CSE to engage corporate partners leading to mutually beneficial relationships with social purpose.
- Write content for sections of bids.

Essential attributes for this role include:
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
- Competence with MS Office programmes – in particular Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Excellent verbal and written communication expertise, able to communicate complex ideas to a range of audiences.
- Empathetic and communicative – able to nurture and build relationships with a wide range of donors and supporters.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and with limited supervision and as part of a team.

We are looking for a driven, articulate professional with a passion for making a tangible difference in the lives of disabled children and young adults. This role is crucial in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support our mission and ensure financial stability. About this role
Due to the significant growth phase, we require vital cornerstone funding from a new Major Gifts function that has just been established, to secure donations from high-net worth individuals, that will enable us to achieve our mission and help thousands of women to transform their lives.
The Philanthropy Manager is an exciting new role that provides an opportunity to build a new major gifts programme from scratch, raising £150,000 income by end of March 2025. Supported by the Director of Partnerships, you will work closely with the Board and our network of 750 volunteers, to develop a giving strategy that will engage and grow a new pool of crucial supporters for Smart Works.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building a new portfolio of major donors, including conducting prospect research, developing bespoke stewardship materials, and securing five-figure and six-figure repeat gifts.
We seek an excellent communicator, with significant experience in influencing, negotiating and exceeding set targets. Creativity, an understanding of women’s fashion, and knowledge of wealth circles would also be advantageous.

The employer is an independent charity that provides emotional and practical support to cancer patients. It was named after one of its patients Alan Dumbell.
