About the role
The Development Manager is a new and important role at The NewBridge Project, which will support the effective management of fundraising and reporting across our work.
You will support the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy and evaluation framework, and work alongside a small and committed staff team to understand, evaluate and champion our work through compelling written reports and applications to new funders.

About The NewBridge Project
The NewBridge Project is an active artist-led community that supports artists, curators and communities through the provision of space for creative practice and an ambitious artist-led programme of exhibitions, commissions, artist development and events.
Our programme builds solidarity with the people around us, and is community-centred, experimental, collaborative and socially conscious at its heart. We work with our studio members, the wider artistic community and our neighbours to create a programme that responds to their needs and those of the local environment.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Fundraising
- Work closely with the Director and Programme Director to oversee the review, development and delivery of our fundraising strategy.
- Undertake research to identify potential new sources of funding from a variety of sources.
- Support and where appropriate lead on the writing of funding applications for core and project funding.
- Develop written case for support documents (such as case studies, needs-based analysis) that can be used for a variety funding applications.
- Input into the development and ongoing review of an ethical fundraising policy, in line with NewBridge’s values and ethos
- Work closely with the Director, Programme Director, and external evaluators, to embed and implement an evaluation framework into all strands of NewBridge’s work.
Funding Management & Reporting
- Oversee NewBridge’s obligations to funders and partners, through the production and submission of reports across multiple grant/reporting platforms. At present this includes:
- Arts Council England
- Newcastle University
- Newcastle Culture Investment Fund
- North East Combined Authority - Skills for Growth Project (see more detail below).
- Manage and update reporting and evaluation timelines, working with staff to ensure we meet external deadlines.
- Manage, update and prepare up to date budgets for funders and partners when necessary.
- Write reports on progress/delivery for funders and partners, that demonstrate impact and progress against outlined objectives
- Work with Communications Producer and relevant staff to ensure funders and partners are correctly credited across communication platforms and public spaces where appropriate.
Management of North East Combined Authority Reporting & Operations.
- Lead on quarterly and annual reporting for North East Combined Authority, this will include:
- Processing quarterly financial claims
- Revising budget/cashflow on quarterly basis
- Submitting written progress report, and updates on key performance indicators and milestones
- Work with project partners Newcastle University, including;
- Preparation for bi-monthly steering group meetings and monthly operations group meetings, including:
- Scheduling and set up for in-person, hybrid and online meetings
- Taking and sharing meeting minutes and follow-up actions from above meetings
- Leading on the assembly and dissemination of papers for meetings.
- Gather necessary information from university to be inputted into reports/evaluation.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Work in collaboration with team at NewBridge to capture qualitative and quantitative data on audiences, participants and collaborators (including social impact reporting, equalities and diversity monitoring, environmental impact, and audience data).
- Lead on evaluation administration, including review and implementation of systems for recording data/feedback and completing data entry.
- Attend events and activity at NewBridge in order to support with monitoring and evaluation.
- Work with external evaluators where applicable – at present this includes working with Ortus Economic Research to evaluate our North East Combined Authority Skills for Growth project.

Programme Manager
The Church Urban Fund is seeking a pro-active and professional Programme Manager, for a part time (21-28 hours a week), 6 month fixed term contract to cover parental leave.
The Wayfinder programme, is a Community-led homelessness prevention programme launched in 2022. It is specifically designed to help people in insecure housing or at risk of homelessness to move forward in life. The programme, run through community partners in Manchester, Leicester and Nottingham, aims to support clients would benefit from support from volunteer community mentors and/or case workers to overcome social isolation and related barriers to tenancy sustainment. It connects people with activities and opportunities in their community and provides practical support through the ups and downs of recovery from homelessness or insecure housing.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for the management, and development of the programme. This includes maintaining strong partnerships with delivery partners, funders, referral agencies, external evaluators, internal stakeholders, and support functions to maximise the positive impact of our work. They will develop and maintaining the educational content and supporting tools and support regional coordinators (managed by and embedded with our regional partners) to ensure the programme maintains its high standards while increasing its reach.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in poverty alleviation, preferably within the homelessness sector, or experience in a volunteer management role within a multi-agency environment and developing partnerships.
This home-based role offers flexibility but will require occasional travel to key locations including London, Nottingham, Manchester, and Leicester. Job Purpose
Our mission is to inspire, involve and empower older people in Scotland, and influence others so that people can enjoy better later lives. To help us achieve that, our Individual Giving fundraiser will aim to acquire new donors and maximise income from existing donors.
As an Individual Giving Fundraiser you will plan, develop and implement a programme of individual giving campaigns to acquire new one-off cash and regular donors, secure repeat donations from our warm database and upgrade donors to maximise and grow our induvial giving income.
You will analyse and monitor performance of campaigns and make tactical and strategic recommendations to enhance results using the full marketing mix. You will lead on developing donor journeys for our existing and new supporters ensuring donors feel valued and understand the impact their donations make.

What you’ll do
Individual Giving
· Using a storytelling technique develop and deliver all aspects of direct marketing appeals ensuring effective and emotive copywriting and by working collaboratively with colleagues and external suppliers to deliver within budget and meet income targets.
· Co-ordinate all aspects of Age Scotland’s donor acquisition programme to develop and build our individual donor base using traditional and digital channels.
· Lead the creation and implementation of donor journeys to recruit, retain, upgrade and re-activate donors. Review and make recommendations where appropriate.
· Explore, develop and test new ways of recruiting new donors and generating income.
· Lead the creation of a strategy to re-activate lapsed donors.
· Develop and implement plans to recruits payroll giving donors.
· Work with colleagues throughout the organisation to identify, engage and cross-sell individual giving opportunities to key stakeholder groups.
· Evaluate all campaigns and prepare reports and recommendations for the development of individual giving based on data and insight.
· Provide expertise and guidance on all matters relating to Gift Aid, including maximising income, and work closely with the fundraising and database administrator to ensure gift aid declarations are processed timely and accurately.

Fundraising administration and processes
· Work closely with the Fundraising & Marketing Assistant to warmly thank donors for their support and ensure an exceptional level of donor care.
· Capture monthly income from the different individual giving income streams on the fundraising database.
· Lead on tracking individual giving income to meet targets and ensuring costs are within budget.
· Project and forecast income and contribute to annual operating plan.
· Ensure the website is up to date with individual giving fundraising activity.
· Ensure all individual giving activity is run in compliance with the Chartered Institute of Fundraising codes of practice.
· Maintain accurate and up to date records and accept responsibility for the safe and secure handling and storage of confidential information, and in accordance with GDPR and Age Scotland’s own data protection policies.
· Work with the fundraising and database administrator to ensure gift aid claims are processed accurately and timely.
Other Duties
· When required, support in taking donations or setting up regular donations over the phone.
· During peak campaign periods support in the processing of donations.
· Attend, present and participate in events and meetings, as appropriate, to represent and promote Age Scotland’s interests.
· Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that each income stream feeds into and supports others so that funds are maximised.

Summary of Role
The Regional Head of Middle East Programmes supports the organisation’s programmatic efforts with a focus on developing and implementing strategy for the Middle East region whilst also providing hands-on support to day-to-day grants management, partner management and donor coordination and reporting.
The following role works closely with the Director of Programmes and Head of Programmes (Protracted Contexts). The role will also regularly work as the intermediary lead with the established Collective for Refugee Leadership in MENA (CRLM), which is a group of donors and thought partners focused on advancing refugee leadership and support for refugees across the Middle East and North Africa.
You will be highly flexible and adaptive, able to respond effectively and in line with our emergency protocols to humanitarian crises as required, whilst also supporting longer-term protracted programmes work. You will have strong project and grants management experience and highly effective administration skills. You drive efficiency and innovation and provide senior management guidance on international projects, as well as high-quality implementation. You will address challenges and issues in all aspects of project implementation and ensure timely and appropriate solutions, including the identification and mitigation of programmatic risks. You will also demonstrate strong people management skills, with an ability to provide both task management and strategic guidance (in addition to more holistic line management support) to several team members.
Responsibilities
Grant Management
● Manage the Choose Love Middle East team to ensure smooth and efficient grant-making for our work in the Middle East
● This includes leading on, and managing a small team, to:
▪ Work closely with partners to gather, review and track due diligence documentation required for granting to partner organisations.
▪ Support the maintenance of grants systems to track grant making progress e.g start and end dates, reporting deadlines, no cost extensions etc.
▪ Draft and/ or review grant agreements between Choose Love and partner organisations and ensure any grant amendments or addendums have correct and accurate information
▪ Review reports from partner organisations to ensure effective use of Choose Love funds
▪ Work with the Data Lead (Programmes) to review Middle East reporting data received from partners and assess outputs, impact and successes from grant-making in the region. This will include being closely involved in impact reporting within the CRLM initiative.
▪ Working with the Director of Programmes / Head of Programmes to attend monitoring trips to the region
▪ Support the Safeguarding Lead on Safeguarding organisational development for the region as needed
▪ Problem-solving with partners on how to get funding into challenging contexts
Partner Relationship Management
● Build meaningful, effective ongoing relationships with new and existing partners.
● Lead partner calls and track key takeaways and actions to share internally.
● Lead on regular check-ins with existing, long-term partners.
● Respond to ad hoc needs arising from partners - including clarification/support on the application process and support with reporting.
● Maintain up-to-date understanding of the needs of partners.
● Supporting Choose Love Fundraising
● Support with narrative reporting to donors - capturing the work of our implementing partners in the region
● Support with developing proposals for donors to Choose Love
● Respond to ad-hoc requests for information from prospective and existing donors
● Support with organising and hosting donor trips to the region
● Support the Partnerships team in presenting Choose Love’s work at events etc when appropriate
● Build and oversee relationships and liaise with CRLM grant partners, bilateral funders, and other key stakeholders to ensure CRLM strategy and approach are aligned to needs and trends in selected contexts
Regional Strategy
● Working closely with the Director of Programmes and the Head of Programmes (Protracted Contexts) and ELT, to develop and implement the regional strategy for Choose Love’s programmes in the Middle East as part of the wider Choose Love Strategy.
● Consulting with key advisors and stakeholders on recommendations for the Middle East strategy
● Championing and supporting opportunities to promote funding to refugee-led and lived-experience led organisations
● Working with the team to implement the regional strategy and adapt the approach in response to contextual changes or humanitarian emergencies
● Maintain an up-to-date expert understanding of the changing context and needs in the region
● Lead on Choose Love’s involvement in CRLM, including inputting and implementing the new strategy, processes, and systems
● Participate in relevant sector / regional meetings
● Work with the Director of Programmes and Head of Programmes to develop a network of peers working in the region
People Management
● Thoughtfully manage the existing team that supports Choose Love’s Middle East work by providing day to day support, meaningful 1:1s and annual reviews and identifying any learning and development needs
● Collaborate closely with (2) other Regions Heads on wider team initiatives and tasks, and be willing to provide surge management support for other regions during absences or periods of annual leave
● Support CRLM in recruiting and utilising advisors and consultants
Internal Communications
● Facilitate the sharing of regional strategy and updates across the wider Choose Love team to feed into wider fundraising efforts
● Communicate partner activities / asks to the rest of the team, including presentations on team calls and email updates to the team
● Support the ELT with information to feed back to the board about Programmes work.
● Capture information on specific contexts and summarise quickly and efficiently to the Communications team, as well as for external stakeholders/funders.
Essential Criteria
● Fluency in Arabic and English (both in written and speaking)
● Experience working in a programmes or grants-focused role related to the Middle East region
● Experience in the humanitarian sector, ideally with people who have been displaced
● Have permission to work in their country of residence
● Ability to travel within the Middle East region
● Line management experience, with remote line management experience highly desirable
● Experience liaising with donors and external stakeholders
● Report-writing skills
