Our client is now recruiting for a Research Fellow to support their Program Directors and governmental partners by providing comparative research that will help shape programs and guide development strategies. Key responsibilities include working with the Program teams to develop reliable, actionable research on human capital challenges facing our government partners in Africa. You will research and identify vendors and consultants who can provide technical support, conduct desktop reviews for country scoping missions, and research and prepare briefings on partners, policies, demographics, and governance matters. In addition you will review existing monitoring and evaluation frameworks and performance management dashboards and help evaluate program proposals and concepts notes by researching assumptions and theories of change.

The successful candidate will have excellent research, data and analytical skills having worked previously in a research role. You will have experience working in international development, public health, econometrics, data science or a similar field and will ideally have some experience of living or working within sub-Saharan Africa (although not essential). You will bring a strong work ethic and have excellent people skills, including communication and presenting skills. You will also have skills and experience working alongside external partners. It would be preferable for the successful candidate to have a graduate degree in econometrics, public health, data science, or a related field however we would also consider candidates who are qualified through their work experience.

The Children’s Literacy Charity is a specialist literacy intervention charity providing expert tuition to children from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them to close their literacy gap and achieve their full potential.

The charity has grown significantly over recent years, delivering its high impact Literacy and Reading Lab programmes to children who need the most help to catch up with their better off peers.  This includes children experiencing economic disadvantage or who may have special educational needs or have English as an additional language.

Our day centre service is currently open three days per-week offering respite, food and somewhere safe to be for anyone facing street homelessness. It provides advocacy and casework services to those who are vulnerably housed or homeless, supporting them to address their individual crisis and the underlying causes. We also provide a small year-round night shelter provision. 

APAP works in close partnership with a number of key agencies locally including drug and alcohol teams, street outreach services, local authority housing teams and the wider VCS. We are a gateway service in the community through which our clients can access a range of support. 

This role will require a keen interest in homelessness and the devastating impact this can have on people. This is a new role which would suit someone with experience of recruiting and managing volunteers. The role will entail expanding our volunteer base, developing processes and procedures to effectively support them and managing them on site. The role will report to the Senior Project Worker.

The Line is looking for an experienced and motivated fundraising professional to join its team.

The Development Coordinator will support the Head of Development (incoming) to reach the organisation's fundraising targets to enable us to deliver our ambitious outdoor exhibition and engagement programmes. The role will include writing funding applications and reporting to funders on existing grants, supporting fundraising activity, undertaking prospect research and maintaining fundraising systems.

The Development Coordinator will deliver practical and essential support to the organisation and would suit someone with a passion for arts and community with imagination, strong writing skills and an ambition to build on existing fundraising experience. About the role

This is a pivotal role within individual giving. Helping to plan and develop fundraising strategy and budget management, as well as being responsible for delivering campaigns of significant scale and generating income both now and for the future.

As part of the team generating £15 million per annum, the successful candidate will be responsible for acquisition and retention communications that talk to thousands of individuals. In addition, building relationships with supporters across a wide range of marketing channels (including face-to-face, DRTV, direct mail, digital) and different activities, and driving vital income to support the charity’s research and care objectives.

About you

You’ll have good experience of running direct marketing activity to generate income, working with suppliers and at scale to solicit funds from tens of thousands of supporters.

A well organised person with excellent communication skills, you’ll be managing relationships with key external agencies and in house stakeholders to deliver complex, multi-faceted campaigns while closely monitoring and managing significant expenditure budgets. You’ll also have a real focus on monitoring key campaign metrics to optimise performance.

Working across email, online, telemarketing, direct mail, door to door and private site, you’ll understand supporter motivations, and how to increase supporter engagement. Testing and evolving our campaigns to best fit what works for our supporters and ensuring that our brand ethos is at the heart of all communications.

The Role

Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. 

This role will be prison based. Do you have a heart to see positive change in the lives of people who are trying to make a new start in the community after prison, and a genuine belief in their ability to make such changes?  Do you have experience of working in a prison environment?

South West Community Chaplaincy (SWCC) aims to provide effective care and community support for people as they leave prison and re-integrate back into the locality, within the counties of Devon, Cornwall and West Somerset.  This includes mentoring, practical support and signposting to assist the integration of ex-prisoners into their communities, in collaboration with other professionals.

We are actively seeking to strengthen our team of Community Chaplains and specifically to appoint a new Community Chaplain in Cornwall, to work with people in the community after they have served a sentence.  The role is also a strategic one, in that it will involve extending the network of support in the county, through the development of support hubs with other service providers.

Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is a faith-based humanitarian relief and development organisation working to save and transform the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people.  Established in 1984, with an active presence in over 45 countries, we strive to make the world a better and fairer place for those affected by poverty, conflict and natural disasters. 

IRW’s International Programmes Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Faith Partnership Advisor (FPA)’ on a permanent, full time basis, to join its dynamic team based out of its offices in either Birmingham, London or where IR has an office globally. The organisation is currently operating to a hybrid working policy.

The purpose of the role:

The Faith Partnership Advisor will play a critical role within International Programmes Division (IPD) supporting the Divisions’ strategic objectives to consolidate its identity as an Islamic faith-based institution, leading our Faith Engagement Strategy, representing our approach to important multi-lateral and other institutions, ensuring the faith sensitivity and faith literacy of its programmes and securing funding for its global operations. The role will sit within the Programme Funding and Partnership Department (PFPD) within the IPD.

Building upon our many programme partnerships with other faith-based and non-faith-based actors, this role will forge new partnerships that build on the inspiring work we have developed in the areas of livelihoods, peacebuilding, forced migration, protection and gender justice. Working with major institutional donors, the Faith Partnership Advisor will form part of a collaborative team and manage the bid process from inception to submission on new programme initiatives. Specifically, the Faith Partnership Adviser will capitalise on the organisation’s faith-based approach to development. The Faith Partnership Advisor is expected to have extensive experience preparing bids which have a faith dimension to them, centred on the added value of Islamic Relief as a faith-based organisation and the industry’s need to have faith centric development and humanitarian approaches.

The successful candidate must have:

• A graduate degree or equivalent experience in development/humanitarian areas
• An in-depth understanding of international development issues
• An exceptional understanding of the principles of Islamic jurisprudence and Islamic teaching, particularly pertaining to aid and development issues
• An awareness of the various funding mechanism that are available within the industry
• Exceptional command of English with the ability to edit, summarise and compile information quickly and often within short time frames
• An ability to speak publicly and communicate confidently within groups
• An ability to lead working groups and plan strategically
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and being versed with PowerPoint and Excel
• Track record of working in a similar role with an International NGO essential
• Proven ability to secure funding for Faith Partnerships
• Must have substantial experience of having worked on successful bids/partnerships which have a faith dimension
• Well versed and with proven capabilities of understanding the faith dimension of international development and humanitarian interventions.
• Demonstrated experience of working on multiple bids with various institutional donors
• Ability to work extensively with a team and or on their own
• Knowledge of the key critical areas impacting the international development sector, including awareness of SDGs, faith-based initiatives, CHS, Humanitarian principles etc.

We are now seeking an outstanding Chief Executive to build on a proud legacy and to lead Aberlour’s ongoing development. Our next Chief Executive will be an inspiring, values-driven leader, who embodies compassion and respect. Leading a talented senior team, they will provide sound stewardship of the charity’s resources and reputation and will work closely with the Board of Trustees to steer the next phase of our development.

Principal Responsibilities

• Working collaboratively with the Board of Directors, the Senior Leadership Team and staff, develop and ensure the effective implementation of a vision and strategy for Aberlour that satisfies the core purpose.
• Provide advice and support to Board Members to ensure that the Board fulfils its corporate and statutory requirements.
• Develop and implement an annual business plan and budget that provide a framework for the achievement of organisation objectives.
• With the Chair and Committee leads, develop a reporting schedule covering all key performance indicators for Board discussion and decision.
• Build relationships with politicians, the media and government officials to advance the aims of Aberlour.
• Lead and manage the executive team, ensuring their professional performance and development needs are addressed.
• Maintain effective networks with all principal supporters and stakeholders. This will require an ambassadorial role on behalf of Aberlour, attending events, speaking on platforms and being the face of the organisation. At all times seek opportunities to expand and promote the role of Aberlour.
• Be cognisant of risks and changes in the external environment that could impact on Aberlour.
• Develop processes to ensure continuous business improvement through the implementation of effective quality management and risk systems.

The Talent Set are delighted to be working with a fantastic health charity to find their Community Fundraising Officers. One role will focus on third party initiatives, and the other on Stewardship & Partners.

The charity offers a flexible working environment, with hybrid working 3x per week from their office in North London.

As a Community Fundraising Officer you will play an instrumental part in creatively engaging supporters to get involved in our high-value campaigns, events and regular giving programme. This includes our annual matched-funding campaign and reoccuring giving programmes. The post-holder will be key in taking the Community Giving programme to the next level, providing proactive engagement opportunities and efficiently work with data to provide timely, targeted, relevant and engaging communications to our various community groups.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the first point of contact for all Community and 3rd party fundraisers wishing to learn more about the work of the charity. - Respond to community fundraising queries in an appropriate manner, via email, phone, face to face or letter within the charity’s standard time frames.

• Work with the Community Engagement Manager to manage relationships and create community engagement timelines.

• Oversee Community Support Volunteers to help add capacity and ensure supporters are supplied with fundraising materials and promotional collateral as and when required.

• Work with the Community Engagement Manager and Marcomms team to ensure all communications are updated and recorded regularly to aid effective ongoing community engagement opportunities.

• Promote campaigns and products for key target to a diverse community group to help grown long term sustainable income

• Develop and implement rich community engagement journeys that help build lifelong engaged relationships with supporters

Person Specification: 

• Experience of Supporter Care or Community fundraising.

• Experience of day-to-day management of a supporter/customer database.

• Experience of how best to use a database to support excellent supporter/customer experience.

• Dedicated to maintaining regular communication with supporters/customers to facilitate the development of long-term relationships
