About the role

We’re looking to recruit a Philanthropy Manager to join our dynamic Philanthropy and Events team within our Supporter Income & Engagement directorate. The successful candidate will support the continued growth and development of the highly successful 2030 Circle - a giving club bringing together likeminded supporters around a shared goal: to help halt the loss of the natural world by 2030.

This is an exciting time to join the team at a really pivotal moment – five years since the Club was launched and with five years left to halt and reverse nature loss.  

You will work with the Senior Philanthropy Manager to maintain and build long term, effective relationships with a range of philanthropic donors, including individuals, families, trusts, foundations and SMEs.

You will share our passion for protecting the future of our planet for people and nature and be skilled at inspiring supporters both in person and in writing. You will have responsibility for day-to-day communications with our highly engaged members and contribute to all aspects of our curated donor journey, from impact reporting to supporting a varied engagement and stewardship calendar of high-level events and field trips. You will also proactively drive growth in the giving club membership through effective data management, warm approaches, peer introductions and lead generation activity. You will work collaboratively with fundraisers and different teams across the organisation to ensure we maximise opportunities to enhance the experience and build support from 2030 Circle members.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Experience of managing a portfolio of trusts, foundations and individuals

• Experience of working with high-net-worth individuals.

• A track record of delivering against income targets.

• Demonstrable experience in identifying and tracking new funding opportunities.

• Experience of using fundraising databases/CRM systems.

• A good understanding of the philanthropic sector and of major giving clubs.

• Excellent communication, relationship building & interpersonal skills.

• Desire to embrace and encourage collaborative working.

As an Admissions Manager, you'll provide vital support to the Head of Admissions, overseeing day-to-day operations, managing the Admissions team, and ensuring all processes are efficient, fair, and customer-focused. Your new role

• To provide management support to the Head of Admissions around the admissions business process, and in the development and documentation of agreed processes, procedures and policies.
• To take operational management responsibility for student admissions in relation to all applications across the University (FE, UG & PGT & PGR), including the provision of training to admissions practitioners.
• To act as line manager to Admissions Officers.
• To ensure all admissions processes, policies and procedures are being followed throughout the University within agreed Service Level Agreements.
• To have responsibility for the liaison with Programme Directors and Deputy Deans to resolve the legitimacy of rejects, alternative course offers and APEL decisions.
• To regularly generate reports and analysis to inform the progression and development of the admissions team, and to provide ad-hoc statistical analysis when requested from the Head of Admissions or other stakeholders.
• To work closely with the Student Recruitment & Engagement team to ensure a seamless student journey from application to enrolment.
• To develop, manage, monitor and report on applicant communications using the SITS student record system and the CRM system.

• In addition, the Admissions Manager will be responsible for maintaining successful operational relationships between Academic Staff, Registry, Student Services and Finance.
• To act as an ambassador during Open Days and external Marketing & Student Recruitment events on behalf of the university, both within the UK and overseas when required.
• To manage the day-to-day delivery of the admissions process, developing a culture of excellent customer service.
• To develop and monitor agreed customer service standards (e.g. turnaround times, customer journey, application workflows etc.)
• To support the process for developing and agreeing entry criteria, offer-making strategies and communication plans.

We’re looking for a Stories and Media Manager to join our team

Salary: Circa £40,000

Base: Central Edinburgh/hybrid

Hours: Full time and permanent.  Working 35 hours a week over core working hours of 10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. The office is open 8am - 7pm daily and our hybrid working policy requires all full-time employees to work at least two days a week in the Edinburgh office.

Job Purpose

As Project Manager for the BSR registers you will ensure the continued success of BSR’s biologics and biosimilars registers and support BSR’s Registers and Research Committee. This role requires someone who is highly organised with a keen eye for detail, strong financial and commercial acumen, and the ability to develop relationships with stakeholders from across a range of different sectors.

About the BSR registers: The BSR registers are a vital source of rheumatology data, which we encourage the rheumatology community to access and analyse for research purposes. BSR’s three active patient registers covering rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis are open for recruitment. Our ankylosing spondylitis register, although closed for recruitment, is available to access for academic research and is contributing data to research questions coming out of the EuroSpA research collaboration.

Main Responsibilities

Management of the BSR registers

• Hold overall responsibility for management of the BSR registers including all legal, contractual and financial matters
• Work with BSR’s delivery partners and registers funders to ensure that contracts, protocols and other agreements are implemented, upheld and administered effectively
• With support from the Head of Publishing and Director of Practice and Quality, negotiate, agree and manage contractual agreements with partners and funders
• Proactively and diplomatically manage contractual and legal risks and issues as they arise
• Ensure the rights and obligations of the BSR (including intellectual property rights and patients’ data protection rights) are upheld and met
• Monitor emerging issues and changes to policy and regulatory frameworks that impact BSR registers, ensuring that colleagues and partners receive timely updates and that BSR responds promptly, ethically, and transparently

Relationship Management and Communications

• Develop and maintain strong and productive relationships with BSR’s delivery partners and funders
• Support the delivery partners to maximise recruitment to the BSR registers
• Oversee and facilitate communications about the registers between BSR, partners, funders and stakeholders
• Develop relationships with relevant stakeholders, including regulatory and oversight bodies
• Collaborate with BSR’s communications team to drive registers awareness and engagement and develop content for social media, website and member communications
• Collaborate with other BSR teams to ensure joined up working, share good practice and evidence

Management of BSR’s Registers and Research Committee

• Provide secretariat to the BSR Registers and Research Committee through organising three meetings per year, preparing agendas and papers, note and minute taking and managing the committee membership, working closely with BSR’s membership team
• Support the Committee to develop and deliver its workplan

Person Specification

1. Experience in a programme or project management role
2. Knowledge of the health care and/or life sciences sectors
3. Strong commercial acumen, with experience of contract and supplier management
4. Budget management and financial reporting skills

This role will be a job share with our existing Therapy Services Manager. The Community Therapy team deliver trauma informed therapy to survivors and their loved ones. The managers will work with the Community Services Manager and Senior Practitioners to ensure a smooth-running service and good clinical governance. There will be a small caseload as part of the role.

Role Purpose To manage specific services and teams, ensuring the provision of quality assured support services to male survivors and their loved ones. This role will be up to 12 months providing Maternity Cover to the existing Service Manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To manage the operational and clinical duty of care for support services

• To maintain the safe and inclusive provision of spaces for all clients

• To provide Line Management, guidance and professional and pastoral support to all client facing services staff and volunteers

• To effectively lead and successfully manage the provision of client services, as designed, and governed by the organisation, including ensuring KPIs are met, and data handling and reporting is accurate.

• To ensure that all services managed, effectively recorded, and identify threats and trends that will result in responding effectively to meet client’s needs.

• To maintain and deliver relevant services to a small caseload of clients.

• Manage and deliver specific projects as directed and agreed by the Executive Team.

• To support the further development of the services that meet client’s needs.

Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years’ experience of partnering with women in the sex industry, to see them safe from coercion, violence and abuse.

Our ‘Direct Work’ is central to the organisation, providing trauma-informed, holistic support, to women who are/have been involved in selling sex.  Whilst the service has been established for over 10 years, we are entering into a period of change, and are seeking an experienced manager, to lead the team through this transition.

Working as part of a team in our East London office, you will be responsible for providing oversight and support for the day-to-day operations of the team, who provide regular telephone support to a caseload of women.

These calls will be often the first point of support for women involved in the sex industry, offering a listening ear for them to process some of their feelings and experiences and providing emotional support; as well as providing more practical assistance to overcome the barriers they face in accessing support.  This could be through advocating with external agencies e.g., mental health, housing, problematic substance use, homelessness, poverty, domestic abuse, sexual violence, the criminal justice system; and to make positive steps forward with their lives.

You will also have responsibility for maintain relationships with our small team of volunteer therapists, who provide free counselling to the women we work alongside.
