Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.
We are now recruiting for a new role in the Resources Team, Crisis at Christmas to support with coordinating the material donations needed to set up and run Crisis at Christmas centres and services. Every year, Crisis at Christmas opens its doors to people who need our support, offering warmth, accommodation, healthcare, food, and specialist advice. Last Christmas we worked with over 6,600 people facing homelessness through our day centres and hotels in London, and Crisis Skylight centres across Britain.
Contract: Fixed term contract from 10 September 2024 to 28 February 2025
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week. Core working hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday, but due to the nature of the project some weekend and evening work may be required.
Location: Canning Town Warehouse, Unit 4 SEGRO Park, London E16 4ES - three days per week onsite
About the role
As a Project Coordinator – Resources your role will involve building relationships with current and new corporate donors to ensure we can resource all the required material donations we need to run the Crisis at Christmas centres in London. Gift in kind donations we require range from food and beverages to clothing, hairdressing equipment and minibuses. This is a varied role that involves researching donors, communicating with large corporate companies, managing volunteers, and running community donations.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of helping people with multiple support needs such as health conditions, housing issues, social isolation, substance misuse and criminal records. We have a very exciting new role with a health charity in Gloucestershire, ideal for someone with project management skills and experience, particularly in a marketing environment.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be either a Part Qualified or Qualified Accountant with proven Systems Accounting experience, Ideally, you will have experience of using Workday Adaptive or UBW / Unit 4 / Agresso and Power BI reporting or Cognos experience.
Alternatively, Systems Accountants with experience of using large ERP systems such as SAP will also be considered. You will have Advanced Excel (VBA) skills and the ability to engage and influence with your key stake holders such as Finance Business Partners, in providing innovative solutions.

International Finance Manager, an excellent opportunity to join an International Welfare Charity, based in the UK.

As the International Finance Manager, working in collaboration with the Director of Finance, you will manage the finance functions and oversee the financial management of the charity and its international subsidiary. Responsible for providing a financial and management accounting oversight role for the subsidiary partner, along with managing the relationship with outsourced bookkeepers, banks, and other service providers.
In collaboration with the Director of Finance, you will hold specific financial management responsibilities which include:
- The implementation and ongoing oversight of financial policies, practices, processes and systems
- The production of the budget and quarterly management accounts.
- The management of the external audit and production of consolidated year end statutory accounts.
- Maintain the relationship with banks, HMRC and outsourced financial services providers.
- Provide comprehensive finance support to staff, budget-holders and the Leadership Team on budgeting and reporting.
- Support the Director of Finance in providing comprehensive financial analysis and reporting to the Board, Resources Mobilisation and Communications and Leadership Team.

- Undertake the financial due diligence review of new and existing members in accordance with the charities Due Diligence Framework.
To be successful in this International Finance Manager role, you will have prior experience and knowledge of;
- Working in a Finance Management or Management Accountant role, within an international charity and knowledge of relevant charity accounting standards and regulations.
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CA qualified
- Experience of leading across the finance function is key (or at least leading on multiple aspects of the finance function)
- Experience of leading/managing the external audit process, as well as a practical experience of annual accounts preparation, reconciliations and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Experience of restricted fund project accounting and donor reporting.
- Experience of foreign currency transactions
- Working in a multicultural setting or working as part of an international team across different timezones.
- Knowledge and experience of control systems and processes.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a health membership charity for a Head of Finance and Operations on a full-time, permanent basis. Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for developing the DENS Business Partnership Programme, building a pipeline of high-value prospects, increasing engagement, and influencing the involvement of local businesses to support DENS ambitious 5-year growth plans.

Harris Hill are partnering with a fantastic charity, passionate about building better futures for people working in horticulture, in their search for a Gardens Commercial Development Director.
Location: The role is home-based with regular travel across the country (Herefordshire, Yorkshire & Suffolk)
Salary: Circa £70,000
The 3 existing gardens in the portfolio, are effectively the ‘shop window’ to the charity. As such, the continued development of the gardens as profitable visitor attractions is an integral part of their 5 year strategy and critical to their future.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team across the totality of the organisation including collaboration with the Board, the Chief Executive and Senior Managers to define scope, goals and project deliverables.
- The development and execution of a strategy for each garden and aligned operational plans ensuring projects align with the charity’s strategy.
- Working in collaboration with Marketing & Fundraising team and the respective garden managers, to set and work towards achieving sales, membership and visitor targets.
- Taking overall accountability for the day to day running of the visitor attractions including but not limited to the management of the cafés, shops, memberships and events to maximise profitability.
- Effective team management fostering a collaborative environment and optimising team performance.
- Managing resources and considering how they can engage effectively with the local community, the public and other local organisations.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in the management of a visitor attraction (preferably in a horticultural setting), with the ability to think clearly and strategically. Commercial acumen with a proven track record in the development of existing income streams and the identification and maximisation of new ones is crucial, as is a detailed understanding of best practice associated with visitor attractions and the ability to analyse data to make informed decisions and develop innovative solutions. Exceptional management and team working skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels and build towards a shared vision is also a must.
