Job Title: Eastern European Floating Support Worker 

Location: Hybrid working with a requirement to occasionally work at Head Office (Vauxhall, London) and co-locations across London
Salary: £28,857.12 per annum inclusive of London weighting if applicable
Contract type: This post is Fixed Term Contract until March 2026. There is a possible extension of contract depending on funding

We are recruiting for Floating Support Worker who will support the Ascent Pan London Service in building sustainable referral pathways and joint working protocols with a range of partners working with survivors of domestic abuse

You will provide capacity-building in the form of advice, advocacy, support, and briefings across the London boroughs to statutory agencies and community organizations around the needs of Eastern European domestic abuse survivors, to embed best practice across our communities. 

It is desirable for candidates to be proficient in one or more Eastern European languages.

You will have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to women as well as up-to-date knowledge of legislation relating to survivors of gender-based violence. You will have excellent casework skills, good written and verbal communication skills, clear professional boundaries and be a proactive team player. All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the feminist values of empowerment and equality which underpin all of our work. 

The post holder will provide a high-quality personal welfare support service to Eastern European survivors of domestic abuse and other forms of violence and abuse and their children. The post holder will empower Eastern European survivors by providing them with emotional and practical support, including support to access safe accommodation. 

The post holder will provide capacity building in the form of advice, advocacy, support and briefings across the London boroughs to statutory agencies and community organizations around the needs of Eastern European domestic abuse survivors, to embed best practice across our communities.

The post holder will lead Refugee Support Devon (RSD) in achieving its mission and strategic goals. Previous skills and experience in working with a wide range of stakeholders across the statutory and third sector
Comprehensive relevant commissioning knowledge and experience from the statutory or third sector.

We are looking for an experienced and inspired fundraiser to develop and manage fundraising projects designed to meet Friends of the Earth’s income targets through multi-channel direct marketing campaigns to acquire new high-quality supporters and develop, retain and increase value from existing supporters.

As Individual Giving Officer you will also monitor performance of fundraising projects and make tactical and strategic recommendations to enhance results. You’ll join a passionate team and contribute to the development of individual giving annual plans, manage budgets and work with Friends of the Earth many internal teams, external suppliers and agency partners.

Key Skills and Attributes: 

This role requires a confident fundraiser and project manager with a solid grasp of fundraising from individuals, either donor recruitment or retention, or in direct marketing within the charity or commercial sector.

Experience of developing and managing multi-channel fundraising projects is essential using a range of media channels. These include telemarketing, print (supporter magazine, cash appeals, retention mailings, inserts and cold mailings), paid social media, Display, YouTube, PPC  and email.

You’ll need to demonstrate a good level of organisational, time management and project management skills, and show a great attention to detail, leading on the monitoring and reporting of projects.

You’ll provide strong creative thinking, and work alongside the internal Content and Creative teams to ensure that content is accessible, inclusive, and honours our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion 

You’ll gain support from the Senior Individual Giving Officer on using the latest CRM database and create mailing selection lists and help take part in quarterly reforecasting. The Individual Giving program has evolved hugely over the past few years, with a big increase in our digital activity and collaboration with campaign teams to create compelling and integrated plans. Each Individual Giving Officer manages a selection of projects across recruitment or experience, rotating project management to support development and learning across the team.

Knowledge of relevant compliance including Fundraising Code of Practice, CAP code, UK data protection law and complaints handling requirements in relation to individual giving is essential.

Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) has secured funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to expand the Thrive Together programme (formerly VPPP) across the South East. This initiative connects veterans' support agencies, ensuring seamless pathways, safe spaces for veterans, and training for volunteers and staff working in veterans' mental health. They are now seeking a Families & Carers Outreach Officer to explore the challenges of reaching out to families and carers of veterans to improve the way that this support can be delivered.

VOS is an award-winning charity that offers welfare, wellbeing and mental health support and services to veterans of the UK Armed Forces and Merchant Navy in Portsmouth, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight. VOS provide a drop-in model of support, a welfare advice service, peer-supported wellbeing activities and social groups, with access to psychology, psychiatry, and therapy services.

The Families & Carers Outreach Officer will collaborate with the Thrive Together Portfolio Manager and VOS team to identify and improve outreach to families and carers of veterans, many of whom may not know they’re entitled to support.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience with identifying, planning, running, and evaluating pilot projects, research groups, and focus groups, while managing timelines. 
• Skills in sharing learnings and recommendations based on feedback, creating ways to measure service effectiveness, and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
• Comfortable working with diverse communities, understanding their needs, and building solid relationships. Knowledge of or experience with the UK veteran community would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Experienced in planning and leading community workshops, guiding discussions, and encouraging participation from group members.

Role Overview:

The Talent Set is thrilled to be working with a fantastic membership organisation as they search for an experienced and proactive Senior Press Officer to join their media team. This is an initial 6-8 month fixed-term contract, with the potential for a permanent position.

This role will be pivotal in managing media relations, enhancing the organisation’s reputation, and supporting key policy initiatives. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with a base in Oxfordshire and occasional travel requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage both proactive and reactive media relations to ensure effective press office processes, monitoring, and reporting.
• Draft and distribute high-quality press releases, media statements, and editorial content to secure impactful coverage.
• Develop and implement media plans that support organisational campaigns and strategic objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media contacts, and key external stakeholders.
• Provide expert advice and media briefings to internal spokespeople, ensuring consistent and strategic messaging.
• Collaborate on digital media strategies and contribute to content creation for social and online platforms.

Person Specification

• 3–5 years of proven experience in media relations, PR, or press office functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling press materials.
• Strong media contacts and the ability to secure coverage across a variety of platforms.
• Experience working in a fast-paced press office, managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in digital media platforms and social media engagement.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in written communications.
• IT literate, with experience using media databases and distribution platforms.
• Willingness to travel and attend events outside standard office hours if required.
