Purpose of the Job 

Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow Mind deliver a range of services for children and young people from 5+. We have two Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs), and some specialist inclusion, community, creative and partnership work. We are looking for someone to look after and manage our programmes that support inclusion for children, young people and families throughout our boroughs for a one year maternity cover (depending on start date).  You will ensure that our specialist inclusion services continue to grow and work to support the development of new inclusion programmes. Children and young people with special educational needs, neurodiversity and disabilities will continue to be the priority for this role, and you will work closely with our existing services to ensure they meet the additional needs of the communities we serve.

Job Summary

The role includes:

• Line management to specialist ASC/LD practitioners; assistant psychologists and music/creative based programme team
• Support the wider team and organisation to ensure all provision is inclusive and meets additional needs
• Develop our SEND and inclusion programme within the MHST, and throughout CYP Services
• Overseeing and developing our trauma-informed approach to work
• Build and hold relationships with the Local Authority (in particular Hammersmith and Fulham), local schools (especially SEND and alternative provision) and communities who may not access mental health services.
• Tailor services to reach young people who may be disengaged from school, have specific additional needs or diagnoses.
• Liaise with commissioners within the NHS and other funders
• Write reports for commissioners and other stakeholders (e.g. monitoring reports, Key Line of Enquiry documents)
• Work closely with the Mental Health Support Teams (schools) service manager and clinical lead
• Ensuring service meets all targets.
• Building on an existing programme and expanding the service to meet additional identified needs  

Person specification:

Knowledge & Experience

• At least 3 years’ experience of supporting young people with a variety of needs, including neurodiversity or learning disabilities, ideally within a mental health context
• A related professional qualification and registration (but please consider applying without this qualification if you have extensive experience)
•  At least 2 years’ of management experience within a relevant service
• Detailed understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people from a range of under-served communities
• Experience of working on (ideally managing) a commissioned service within a Third Sector Organisation
• Experience in delivering a service within budget and meeting all KPIs and contract requirements.
•  An understanding and commitment to trauma-informed practice (ideally with a related qualification)

Role Overview

Around 75% of your time will be devoted to securing funding from trusts and foundations. This includes researching, identifying new opportunities and crafting compelling, tailored funding applications. The remaining time will be dedicated to building and nurturing relationships with new, lapsed and existing major donors and developing creative and engaging stewardship plans to inspire and secure high value gifts.

About you

This is a great role for someone with previous experience of both Trust Fundraising and Major Donor Fundraising. You’ll have excellent communication skills to enable you to quickly build solid, strong relationships both face to face and over the telephone. Excellent writing skills are essential as well as good organisational skills and CRM experience. In these challenging times you’ll need to channel your creative skills to develop exciting stewardship plans.

In this role you will need:

• Previous evidenced experience of securing donations from Trusts and Foundations, and Major Giving Fundraising experience
• Experience of producing outstanding, high quality, imaginative and compelling applications and reports
• Experience in prospecting for new business opportunities via multiple research channels

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home,  although there will be occasions when you will need to attend face-to-face meetings with, donors, your team, our partner agencies, or several team away-days each year. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

Job purpose

This role sits in our Direct fundraising Team within the Individual Giving department. The key purpose of the job is to:

•  Support the Associate Head and Senior Fundraisers to continue to grow and develop face-to-face direct recruitment and telephone fundraising activity at the NSPCC.
• To work with Senior Fundraisers and Associate Head within the Direct fundraising team to deliver agreed campaigns in line with business requirements.
• Advocate and reinforce the team’s ethics and values across compliance, safeguarding, supporter experience and best practice fundraising.
• Enhance the supporter experience and protect the NSPCC’s reputation when working with professional fundraising agencies.
• Through mystery shopping, call listening and other activities, ensure all activity, by agency partners and relevant internal teams, is compliant with regulation, codes of practice and NSPCC policies.
• Monitor campaign performance and income, ensuring that campaign KPIs and metrics are reported accurately and consistently.
• Monitor expenditure, including financial processes such as raising POs, checking invoices and reporting against budgeted expenditure figures.
• Work with data, including checking data selections for telephone activity.
• Work effectively with other departments within Individual Giving, Communications and Fundraising Directorates and other functions within the NSPCC to maximise income for children. Also working with external agencies to deliver large scale campaigns.
• Work as part of a larger team to meet the same objectives and work effectively with other teams within the NSPCC to maximise income for children.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. With the Associate Head of Direct Fundraising, agree and deliver face-to-face and telephone  direct fundraising activities in line with the Individual Supporters department’s annual business plan and budget to enable the NSPCC to plan its activity and services.
2. Work with the Associate Head to maximise the opportunities by which the fundraising activity can contribute to the NSPCC’s mission of fighting for every childhood over and above fundraising objectives.
3. Be responsible for the development of relationships and delivery of income from potential supporters engaged through face-to-face activity
4. Work with internal NSPCC support teams to set up new agencies and campaigns.
5. Keep up to date on best practice and developments within the charity sector generally and particularly changes to fundraising regulations, compliance and codes of practice relating to direct dialogue fundraising. Updating existing or creating new processes and working with agencies to implement changes in activity.
6. Work with internal compliance teams and external agencies to plan and implement a monitoring schedule in line with the most up to date codes of practice, guidance and regulations.  This should include regular mystery shopping and call listening.
7. To work with the Associate Head to maximise the opportunities by which the fundraising activity of the Direct Fundraising team can contribute to the NSPCC’s mission of ending cruelty to children over and above fundraising objectives.
8. To carry out research through a range of sources, including the Internet, Intranet, publications and other external contacts, including other charities, in order to obtain relevant information that can contribute to the fundraising activities of the Direct fundraising team.
9. To work cross-functionally to ensure that fundraising activities are managed and developed in a way that maximises income for the NSPCC.
10. To undertake specific fundraising projects and activities as necessary or as required to support the department’s fundraising as a whole.

Job Outline:

CFAB is a national charity and the UK branch of the International Social Service network. CFAB’s social work team helps to resolve cases involving child protection, children in care, unaccompanied children, and vulnerable adults when the case crosses international borders. CFAB social workers and caseworkers offer advice and guidance to individuals and local authorities and help to link social work services between the UK and other countries.

The main purpose of this role is to assist with the day to day running of the CFAB Advice Line and manage a caseload of allocated inter-country cases originating from the UK or overseas.

Key responsibilities:

Finance

· Code and process purchase invoices, staff expenses and obtain authorisation of expenditure as per financial procedures manual.

· Save copies of the Approval Max pdf’s in the Purchase folder.

· Prepare sales invoices to customers on the receipt of instruction from the social work team and email copy of invoice to customers.

· Liaise with the social work team to ensure sales invoice requests are generated for all Opportunities raised in Salesforce.

· Update Salesforce to reflect processed sales invoices.

· Maintain records of sales and purchase invoices in accordance with CFAB’s policies and procedures

· Banking of cheques received.

· Perform credit control duties according to the financial procedures manual.

· Handle and process all petty cash claims in accordance with CFAB policy, and ensure these are correctly authorised and reconcile the petty cash tin monthly.

· Maintain the files of supplier contracts including assisting the Finance Manager to review contracts periodically.

· Maintain the Local Authority Finance contacts spreadsheet.

· Assist the Finance Manager with the maintenance of the charity asset register.

· Assisting the Finance Manager to ensure suppliers and expenses are paid on time.

· Assist the Finance Manager with monthly reconciliations (e.g. ensure that all oncosts from ISW’s are recharged to Local Authorities accordingly).

· Be the key contact for any finance queries.

· Provision of management information and reports as required.

Human Resources

• Assisting the FHR Manager with HR administration support, including recruitment administration, Data Protection, maintaining legally compliant and up to date HR files etc.

About the role

We are a small team carrying out the full range of public affairs activity, from raising awareness of caring through public campaigns and in the media, to influencing Parliament, Government and wider stakeholders through new research, policy expertise and our campaigning work.

This role plays a vital part in delivering the charity’s core aims to make life better for carers by:

• Contributing to Carers UK's policy and campaigns function in the development and dissemination of policy and supporting key projects to maintain and improve the reputation of the organisation.
• Monitoring, highlighting, and analysing key policy developments by the UK Government and other public bodies regarding their potential impact on carers.
• Liaising and building strong working relationships across the organisation to help deliver the policy and public affairs team’s objectives.

We are currently looking for an On The Water Project Coordinator to join our team.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead on an externally funded outreach project providing hard to reach young people with the opportunity to try free boating sessions over the summer holidays.

This is a very varied and rewarding role that requires someone who is self-motivated, organised, creative, tenacious, positive and IT competent with experience in project management.

You need to be able to motivate and inspire your project team, ensuring that the project is on target through continuous monitoring and evaluation. The On The Water Project Coordinator will be responsible for the line management of 3 fixed-term Project Assistants.

Whilst this role is homebased for the majority of the time, it requires the post holder to travel to each of the locations intensively throughout the 5 week delivery period, as well as regular travel for both the planning and evaluation periods. Travel expenses are covered as part of the role.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and ensure the delivery of the On the Water project.

• To manage the temporary Project Assistants at Royal Docks, Midlands and Port Edgar Boat Stations
• Work with the Project Assistants and Growth and Development Workers to enable the effective recruitment of young people, particularly those facing difficulties or disadvantage to the project through recruitment and referrals from local authorities, schools and other relevant bodies
• Devise, plan and implement systems to record and report on the project’s activity, progress and outcomes
• Manage the budget in accordance with the agreed expenditure targets, ensuring that accurate records are maintained
• Ensure the safe and smooth running of delivery in line with all internal policies
• Manage the evaluation, wrap up and future planning of the project
• Ensure the project meets it's targets and funders have timely and accurate reports
• Develop robust monitoring and booking systems and ensure they are rolled out, understood, and used across all 3 sites

The Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD) is a partnership of the world's biggest public research funding agencies. The Associate Members have come together to promote research collaboration and to fund research programmes to address the prevention or treatment of chronic non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and mental health issues. GACD specifically focuses on research which will provide essential evidence on the most effective ways to prevent or manage disease in poorly resourced settings in low- and middle-income countries and to improve health equity in underserved indigenous populations. 

Reporting to the CEO, the Programme Manager will be responsible for coordination of activities between the Associate Members and lead on the delivery of GACD joint research funding calls in global implementation science on non-communicable diseases.
