Role Purpose
The Operations Director is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective running of all operational aspects of Katherine Low Settlement. This role oversees the day-to-day operational leadership of the charity, ensuring that its systems, processes, and teams are aligned with strategic objectives and compliant with relevant legislation.

You’ll work to support our core operations, and you’ll also be involved with the administrative aspects of our Stronger Communities work. In the first instance, this will mean supporting the delivery of our lottery-funded project in West Yorkshire through which we’re creating a shared vision for Batley, Heckmondwike and Dewsbury.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Operations and Projects Officer will provide administrative support for the team. You’ll be supporting the day-to-day running of the Foundation, helping to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Within operations, you’ll provide administrative support on everything from finance and HR to fundraising and supporter care.
As a member of the Stronger Communities team, you’ll also provide support for our work building less lonely, better connected communities across the UK, where everyone feels that they belong. This begins with our current lottery-funded Bridging & Belonging project in Kirklees. You’ll act as the main administrator for the project, supporting the Community Group and Yorkshire Programme Manager to lead the work.
This will include setting up meetings, liaising with community venues and services, managing enquiries, answering questions directly and getting responses from colleagues where necessary. There will also be occasional on the ground community-facing work supporting the Bridging and Belonging community group at local events in North Kirklees.

We operate ten safe houses and five outreach hubs, staffed round the clock by specialist staff, working with more than 600 men, women and dependent children each year. We work to raise awareness in the UK and to provide preventive work in source countries. Our Pursue work helps survivors to engage with police and within the legal system to seek justice and to secure convictions against their perpetrators.
This role is based in a safe house in the Southampton area.
About the job
Due to a restructure, we are seeking a confident and experienced Modern Slavery Case Worker with a wide range of skills and importantly, a ‘can do’ approach.
As the Modern Slavery Case Worker, you will work as a member of a close and supportive team providing a safe environment for vulnerable female adults and their dependents up to the age of 1 from outside the UK who have experienced trauma and exploitation. You will provide high quality practical and emotional support to the residents within a risk assessed safe house setting. The role will involve assisting clients with increasing practical skills and self-confidence to empower and enable independent and safe living.
You will be expected to line manage Case Worker Assistants and bank staff. Additionally, you will be allocated a caseload of up to 5 service users to support.
This role is mainly Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend shifts. You will be required to be part of an on-call rota and able to get to and from the project if it is necessary to attend the project whilst on-call.
You must have experience of working with vulnerable adults, the ability to work within a ‘risk associated’ environment and, ideally, experience of working within a residential or community setting with non-UK citizens.
Administration / IT skills and health and safety awareness are essential. Modern Day Slavery, Immigration and knowledge of the asylum process would be desirable. Please also note that there is a substantial amount of administrative work involved in this role.

With a turnover of around £4million per annum and diverse funding streams from local NHS and council authorities, the organisation of around 100 staff is now continuing its growth journey.
The charity provides accommodation and services across Birmingham and London; however, the charity’s office is in central Birmingham. The role is permanent, part-time (4 days per week) with a salary of £66,250 - £68,750 per annum FTE (£53,000 - £55,000 per annum pro-rata) and is hybrid in nature with 2 days per week expected onsite in the Birmingham office. FTE is based on a 37.5 hour working week, so 4 days equates to a 30-hour working week – there is flexibility around how these hours can be spread. The Head of Finance and Corporate Services is a newly created role and will be responsible for the internal operations of the company. This involves overseeing the finance, human resources, IT and compliance functions. - Ensure relevant statutory, regulatory, and professional standards are wholly achieved in relation to policies, processes and procedures, particularly in respect of finance, governance, employment legislation and IT functions.
The post is part of the Senior Leadership (SLT) team, and you will manage a settled team of 2 including a fully qualified Finance Manager and an HR Manager. Much of the IT is outsourced.
The role would be best suited for a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA) with prior experience in a similar senior level finance role within the charity sector. You will be expected to demonstrate strategic ability around financial planning and contract monitoring and be able to provide a top-level overview of how the organisation structures its corporate services functions moving forwards. A strong knowledge of charity finance – contracts and restricted funds is required, and experience in a similarly broad role covering other areas of corporate services such as HR and IT would be a big advantage.

IRW’s International Programmes Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Faith Partnership Advisor (FPA)’ on a permanent, full time basis, to join its dynamic team based out of its offices in either Birmingham, London or where IR has an office globally. The purpose of the role:
The Faith Partnership Advisor will play a critical role within International Programmes Division (IPD) supporting the Divisions’ strategic objectives to consolidate its identity as an Islamic faith-based institution, leading our Faith Engagement Strategy, representing our approach to important multi-lateral and other institutions, ensuring the faith sensitivity and faith literacy of its programmes and securing funding for its global operations. The role will sit within the Programme Funding and Partnership Department (PFPD) within the IPD.
Building upon our many programme partnerships with other faith-based and non-faith-based actors, this role will forge new partnerships that build on the inspiring work we have developed in the areas of livelihoods, peacebuilding, forced migration, protection and gender justice. Working with major institutional donors, the Faith Partnership Advisor will form part of a collaborative team and manage the bid process from inception to submission on new programme initiatives. Specifically, the Faith Partnership Adviser will capitalise on the organisation’s faith-based approach to development. The Faith Partnership Advisor is expected to have extensive experience preparing bids which have a faith dimension to them, centred on the added value of Islamic Relief as a faith-based organisation and the industry’s need to have faith centric development and humanitarian approaches.
The successful candidate must have:
- A graduate degree or equivalent experience in development/humanitarian areas
- An in-depth understanding of international development issues
- An exceptional understanding of the principles of Islamic jurisprudence and Islamic teaching, particularly pertaining to aid and development issues
- An awareness of the various funding mechanism that are available within the industry
- Exceptional command of English with the ability to edit, summarise and compile information quickly and often within short time frames
- An ability to speak publicly and communicate confidently within groups
- An ability to lead working groups and plan strategically
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and being versed with PowerPoint and Excel
- Track record of working in a similar role with an International NGO essential
- Proven ability to secure funding for Faith Partnerships
