Reporting into the Head of Marketing and Digital, with three direct reports, you will lead on the promotion of all RCR activity to our members, ensuring they are engaged and updated, while feeling valued, listened to and part of an innovative community at the heart of healthcare. You’ll be a confident and skilled communicator, who is able to create clear, compelling, and effective copy. You will build communication plans and campaigns that share the wide range of RCR services with all our audiences, and build an RCR brand that is innovative, authoritative and inspiring. 

What you’ll do: 

• Evaluate and develop the way we use our communication channels to ensure they are creating impact and engagement with key audiences. 

• Support other teams to build engagement around our events, training courses, products and services through effective communications and promotion. 

• Oversee the delivery of our printed publications and collateral. 

• Manage corporate communications activity, including design and branding. 

• Work collaboratively with the wider team and other colleagues to develop cross-organisational plans to promote RCR activity 

• Oversee the development of an audience ad data-led approach to engagement. 

• Translate key objectives and insights into action plans that achieve results.

River Church Ipswich is an HTB Network church plant in the town centre of Ipswich, which launched in September 2021 and has already grown quickly into a thriving resource church, with a congregation of more than 200, and three Sunday services.

Key Responsibilities

Website

• Responsibility for maintenance and development of Resurgo’s website, delivering engaging content with a focus on dynamic visuals and videos, tailored to our different website audiences.
• Optimise user journeys across all Resurgo’s digital channels.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective.
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.

Oversight of Spear Programme Spear

Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.

• As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Assistant Coach.
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education

Line management and training

• Manage the Assistant Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Be line managed by River Church staff, locally, and by Resurgo, nationally, to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPI.

Supporting River Church’s mission and ministry

• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help the Assistant coaches to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
• Ensuring the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church
• Work with the Head of Operations and Fundraising Assistant to prepare successful grant funding applications for Spear Ipswich, and provide timely grant reporting.
• Attend and participate in Staff Meeting, Tuesday morning Prayer Meeting, and Sunday Services (serving on a team at one or more Sunday service) • Regularly pray for Spear, River Church, and in particular our Social Transformation work.
• Attending other River Church events and services, occasionally speaking and/or contributing as required • Ad hoc tasks and other project work.

Site management

• Liaise with relevant staff locally on site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.

About the role 

As a Partnerships Development Executive, you will join the Partnerships and National Engagement Team during an exciting period of growth and will play an active role in helping build new transformational partnerships which support Crisis’ new ten-year strategy.

Dose of Nature is a mental health charity whose objective is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals through increased engagement with the natural world. Main Roles

• To provide specialist legal advice and information on housing, welfare benefits, debt, and other issues as required by the service.
• To help improve the situation of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants through participating in policy work, campaign and developing networks and partnerships.
• To help improve LRMN’s delivery of legal advice and information service.

Specific Duties

• Act for clients where necessary by completing forms, calculating repayments, negotiating and/or advocating on behalf of clients, drafting or writing letters, advising on and preparing appeals and dealing with telephone calls and emails as required
• Maintain accurate and orderly client records
• Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate
• Challenge/support with challenging decisions such as S.21 or homelessness (Senior Advisor)
• Represent clients at tribunals when necessary (Senior Advisor)
• Check whether clients are in receipt of all the benefits they are entitled to, and help them claim any relevant benefits that they haven’t claimed yet, or obtain increases if their benefits are not paid at the correct rate
• Support clients understand benefit decisions, and challenge them (where appropriate) by way of mandatory reconsiderations and appeals
• Actively update legal knowledge on housing, welfare benefits, debt and other related areas of law
• Develop partnerships and attend advice related networking meetings
• Contribute and participate in policy work beneficial to our clients
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of external agencies and changes in legislation, policies and practices and adapt and share this information as appropriate
• Adhere to LRMN’s casework management systems and procedures
• Implement corrective actions in a timely manner, particularly where these issues are identified through file reviews
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the team’s development
• Ensure that people accessing the service feel welcomed, valued and understood

Other Duties

Personal Specification

Essential

• Minimum of 1 year (Advisor) or 2 years (Senior Advisor) of full-time experience of providing 1-1 specialist legal advice and information on housing and welfare benefits.
• Experience of working to strict deadlines and managing a heavy caseload.
• Experience of supporting asylum seekers, refugees and migrants.
• Knowledge/ experience of working in the not-for-profit sector.
• Understanding of key recent and upcoming changes on housing, benefits and other relevant legislations and the effects of these on our clients.

About CRUK Drug Discovery

As the world's biggest medical research charity, we have helped bring eleven new cancer drugs to market. However, there is still an urgent need to bring more effective treatments to patients faster.

We have recently developed a new approach to driving therapeutic innovation through the creation of (CRH). We have brought together Cancer Research UK's established drug discovery teams under one organisation and leadership team, combining our unique pipeline of world class biology, cutting edge technology platforms and clinical expertise to 1) bring new treatments to patients faster and 2) tackle the biggest challenges in discovering cancer drugs by seeking out more radical ideas and embracing risk in our bid to achieve success.

What will I be doing?

Our new strategy sets out to bring deeper mechanistic understanding at the molecular and cellular level to all stages of projects, from Idea to pre-clinical candidate.

This laboratory-based role is focussed on designing and developing physiologically relevant biochemical assays in 384 well and 1536 well plate format to characterise cancer targets in detail at the molecular level, enable high-throughput screening, profile the structure-activity and structure-kinetic relationships of small molecules, and characterise their mechanism of action to inform dose prediction and clinical efficacy.

The successful candidate will drive innovative ways of working through keeping abreast of cutting-edge biochemistry, enzymology and HTS science. They will form an integral part of the Cancer Research Horizon Drug Discovery team working alongside our industry and academic partners to progress novel cancer targets towards patient benefit.

What skills will I need?

We are seeking an accomplished scientific expert with the following skills and experience:

• A BSs, MSc or PhD in biological science such as biochemistry or pharmacology; relevant experience may be substituted for education

• Significant experience in a drug discovery environment of assay development including dissecting enzyme and small molecule inhibitor mechanisms for a range of target classes

• Detailed theoretical and practical understanding of biochemical assays and detection technologies, with a particular focus on physiologically relevant systems

• Significant experience in liquid handling and automated dispensing

• Significant experience of analysing large datasets with appropriate statistical rigour

• Experience of running biochemical and cell-based high throughput screens of small molecules in 384well and 1536 well plate format is. desirable

• Additional experience in prosecution and robust statistical analysis of high throughput screening data would be desirable.
