This is a home-based role and will suit an individual living in the North of England. You will be reporting to the Corporate & Regional Fundraising Manager and working in a very varied and exciting working environment.

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Workforce Policy Officer to support the delivery of our Workforce Strategy. Your impact
Collaborating with young people and their families, referrers and physical activity providers and promoting co-production with young people, you will provide 1:1 personalised support to young carers to access a physical activity of their choice which will positively impact their physical health and emotional wellbeing. You will manage existing partnerships and provide outreach to other RBKC young people’s services to support regular referrals into our service and will also sign-post the young people to relevant services when wider issues that impact safeguarding, health and wellbeing are identified.
Your skills
You will bring your knowledge and experience of working with families and young people to complete a brief young carers assessment and collaboratively identify the physical activity of their choice to access through the small grant service. The post requires an ability to manage your own caseload and support the deputy team manager in completing the data monitoring. Multi-agency working, excellent communication, empathy, safeguarding knowledge and system recording skills are vital for this role. With a client-facing approach you will be passionate about engaging our service users in all aspects of our work including co-production.

About the role
We are seeking a candidate to develop this new role as Activities & Volunteer Coordinator, whose purpose is to set up new programmes of community work and volunteer placements. The postholder will work across Betknowmore UK charity services and with stakeholders across multiple sectors.

About the role
As an Accounts Payable Executive within the Accounts Payable team, you will play an important role in providing accurate and up to date financial information to the organisation, empowering key decision makers.
You will help to maintain strong relationships with our key partners and suppliers and support our staff and volunteers in performing their vital roles.
As part of the Accounts Payable team, you will work with teams right across the organisation, giving you a great understanding and insight into the work that Crisis does day to day in our mission to end homelessness.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have 3 - 5 years relevant accounts payable experience, in depth understanding of finance processes and procedures and great attention to detail. You will also have intermediate level excel and strong interpersonal skills and be confident communicating with a range of stakeholders whether in person, over video calls or by email.
You must also be AAT level 3 qualified or equivalent.

Job Description
We seek a Finance Director who will work closely with the COO and CEO to develop the Institute's financial strategy; lead the finance team through change and develop and deliver its policies and procedures. You will provide financial leadership to the Institute, ensuring that it is financially compliant, has accurate and timely financial information as well as the appropriate analysis to support decision making. You will also be responsible for inspiring and developing a high-performing finance team that provides excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. You will play a key role in the development and implementation of the organisation's strategy and in supporting the overall management.
Strategy
- Ensure effective financial management and control of the organisation's resources.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Chatham Houses' business operations to ensure financial decisions are aligned with communicated goals and objectives.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic planning, new business opportunities, and capital investments.
- Work collaboratively with the CEO and COO to develop and implement income generating strategies to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
- Work with the COO to identify new business opportunities and develop business cases for new products and services.
- Identify and manage the risks associated with change initiatives and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- With the COO, present the strategy and performance to Council and its committees.
- Inspire and create new ways of working, drive efficiencies and generate new ideas across the House.

Delivery
- Take ownership of all finance procedures, centralising and modernising them to drive maximum efficiency and transparency.
- Oversee Chatham House's investments to ensure appropriate return.
- Lead and manage change within the finance function, such as the implementation and development of a new integrated finance system.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports, including budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to provide timely and accurate financial information to support decision making.
- Collaborate with the Head of Research Partnerships overseeing and improving the process for grant application.
- Support house-wide reform, leading committees as requiring and inspiring change.
- Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities such as cost recovery, project pricing, overhead setting, and funder due diligence.
- Work closely with the CEO and COO to review costs across the organisation in pursuit of efficiency, ensuring our risk management, governance and compliance processes and the pricing of our research are robust.
- Build a business partner approach to finance, to ensure compliance and best practice across the institute.
- Help lead the organisation as a member of our Executive Leadership team.
People
- Lead and manage the finance department of 6, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure a high level of performance and customer service.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, bankers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the finance team.
- Partner with research teams to ensure centralised oversight and management of all finances and budgets.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging new ideas and approaches to improve financial processes and procedures.
- Mentor and coach direct and indirect reports, establishing an inclusive and collaborative culture

The Successful Applicant
- Qualified accountant, with a recognised accounting qualification (ideally ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Excellent leadership skills. You will be a credible, creative, and inspiring leader - ideally with experience of building consensus, influencing positive change and developing teams.
- Outstanding communication, reporting and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven experience in people leadership and management, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Strong financial management and analytical skills, with the ability to provide clear strategic financial advice and analysis to senior management and the Board.
- Excellent presentation skills both written and verbal, and able to communicate with people (including non-financial) at all levels across the business and develop effective relationships at all levels.
- Experience of managing change and supporting organisational development, and in implementing new financial systems and processes.

Background
The Maypole Project supports children and young people with complex medical needs and their families across the UK. Our vision is that all families with a child with complex medical needs will have access to our support from diagnosis, for as long as they need.
Our unique model provides emotional and wellbeing support through counselling and therapy services for parents/carers, siblings and other adults involved in caring for a young person with complex medical needs.
The Maypole Project has been providing vital services to families for over 21 years and is in an exciting phase of development. We are expanding our management team to provide the capacity needed to grow and extend our provision to meet the needs of more families who would benefit from our unique model of support.
Role Purpose
As a member of the senior leadership team, the role will have strategic and operational oversight of all clinical and therapeutic services and activities, ensuring the Maypole Model of support is delivered effectively, to high-quality standards and is appropriately resourced. Working to the Maypole vision to provide access to support for everyone who needs it across the UK, through appropriate outreach, the role will work closely with colleagues and external partners to support the development and expansion of our service offer to meet the needs of families and grow our income.
Key Responsibilities
Service Management
- Line Management of the Senior Counsellor, Senior Child Therapist, Activities Manager and Clinical Supervisors.
- Overall management of the Therapies team, fostering positive communications through regular team meetings/socials, and building a collaborative and collegiate working culture across the organisation.
- Ensure all staff receive appropriate training and have access to further professional development opportunities.
- Holding a counselling caseload of 3-4 clients, in line with postholders professional qualifications and experience.
- Oversight of all enquiries and referrals from initial contact, through assessment and end of support, with assistance from the team administrator.
- Facilitate the provision of a Clinical Supervision for the therapies team.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the organisation ensuring safeguarding cover is always available via nominated deputies in your absence.
- Contributing to case conferences as required and convening internal “Maypole Team around the family” meetings to discuss our work and ensure seamless working both within Maypole’s provision and with external providers as necessary.
- Contract management: act as the main point of contact for our contractors with which we have service level agreements for the provision of therapy services.
- Data: Manage the client database and associated systems for recording of clients in relation to appointments, payments and impact reporting.
- Ensure premises are fit for purpose for therapy services and activities programmes, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, accessibility and confidentiality policies, in liaison with Head of Developments, CEO and other responsible personnel.
- Business/Service Development
- Contribute to strategic and operational plans for business and service development including delivering the aims of our strategic plan for growth in the following areas:
- service uptake and expansion across a wider geographic area
- developing service provision, quality and resourcing
- development of training and other consultancy services to external professionals
- Monitoring and Evaluation: ensuring standardised ways of recording data and disseminating the impact of our services in communications to a range of stakeholders including for contracts/grants as well as for key supporters and internally the Board and staff team.
- Support the CEO and Head of Development in developing external relationships and partnerships, instigating discussions regarding potential new contracts and partnerships and opportunities for collaborative working.
- Act as an Ambassador for The Maypole Project, advocating and promoting our work throughout relevant networks. Working with the Head of Development, seek opportunities to give talks and presentations to a range of audiences with the aim of building relationships with external contacts and potential partners.
- Reporting: provide written reports as required for the CEO, Board of Trustees, funders and contract clients.
Finance
- Contribute to setting the annual budget for therapies and activities.
- Monitor monthly income and expenditure accounts for therapy services, highlighting any discrepancies or potential for significant over or underspends.
General responsibilities
- Attend regular supervision, line management and whole team meetings.
- Adhere to the codes of ethics and practice adopted by The Maypole Project, in line with our service model and with other relevant Counselling Professional bodies.
- Comply with legal and statutory requirements including the Data Protection Act, Health and Safety at Work Act (always ensuring H&S of self and others).
- Comply with all organisational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Undertake the required CPD as identified in annual appraisals and line management processes.
