The successful applicant will work closely with the Support Line Manager and team to deliver support for anyone affected by sarcoma. The post holder will be part of a growing Support Line team and be part of the continued expansion of the service as we grow in exciting new directions in 2025/26. Duties and key responsibilities
1. Support and Information
- To deliver the Sarcoma UK Support Line, a confidential telephone and email support and information service for anyone affected by sarcoma. This includes:
- Providing individual information and support to service users on sarcoma and related issues, by telephone, email and other media as the service develops.
- Adhering to quality standards, confidentiality, Sarcoma UK policies and the standard operating procedures of the Support Line.
- Under direction from the Director of Research, Policy and Support and Support Line Manager, contribute to Sarcoma UK’s social and other media as appropriate.
- To provide clinical input to the development of the charity’s information materials including the revision of existing information materials and the development of new information products.
- To provide input to the clinical content of the charity’s website.
- To raise awareness of the charity’s information and support services within the health professional field.
- To contribute sarcoma knowledge and clinical expertise across all the charity’s programmes.
2. Maintain Professional Knowledge
- Keep up to date with treatment and care of sarcoma through research and review of publications, horizon scanning, and attending study days and conferences, and disseminate this information within the charity.
- Adhere to the standards of good practice outlined in the AHP / NMC professional code of conduct, or relevant professional body’s standards.
- Maintain professional registration and compliance with revalidation requirements ensuring ongoing clinical education and professional development.
- Attend mandatory clinical supervision sessions.
3.External Relationships
- To maintain positive relationships with key Sarcoma UK stakeholders including sarcoma patients, family members/carers and support group leaders.
- To develop and maintain contact with sarcoma specialist healthcare professionals, including clinicians, specialist nurses and allied health professionals who have reviewed our information materials.
4. Other
- To support new work within the information and support team.
- The role will require some travel to meetings and events throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.
- Attend Sarcoma UK events and take part in Sarcoma UK’s wider work.
- Occasional weekend or evening work may also be required and time off in lieu will be given.
- The post holder will be working in a developing environment and will therefore be required to undertake other appropriate duties as necessary for the efficient operation of Sarcoma UK.

What you’ll be doing
As a Campaigns Analyst, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping River Action’s fight for cleaner rivers by transforming complex data and information into compelling narratives that influence public opinion, media coverage, political advocacy, and legal action.
Reporting to the Head of Campaigns, you’ll be at the heart of our evidence-based approach. You’ll be analysing government and industry data, uncovering insights, and equipping our team with the intelligence needed to challenge polluters, hold regulators accountable, and push for policy reform.
Like a detective, you will be the person we rely on to seek out and identify the smoking gun - as well as to meticulously build out the pieces of the jigsaw - that demonstrates the malpractice, illegal behaviour or mismanagement of a water company, a factory farm or a failed regulator.

Monitor government regulators and industry updates, tracking regulatory programmes, announcements, data, reports and other information.

Develop and lead proactive data collection efforts including by making Freedom of Information (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulation (EIR) requests to inform and support campaigns, legal actions, investigations and communications.

Plan, execute and report public opinion polls to gather insights that strengthen campaign messaging.

Analyse and interpret complex data to uncover key insights that drive impactful campaigns and communications.

Map and assess major campaign factors, including pollution sources, supply chains, regulatory frameworks and industry compliance.

Investigate polluters, evaluating their legal obligations, governance structures, sustainability claims, environmental performance, finances and resource allocations.

Investigate government regulators including the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and Ofwat, analysing the performance of their monitoring, reporting and law enforcement duties.

Maintain and update internal databases and fact sheets with the latest intelligence.

Develop an in depth understanding of UK policy and legal frameworks relating to the regulation of rivers, and ensure colleagues are kept up to date with changes.

Contribute towards River Action policy and advocacy work, ensuring our positions are underpinned by evidence and data.

Ensure all River Action initiatives are evidence-based, current, and well-informed, and support colleagues requiring data and evidence for handling media opportunities.

Research and propose solutions to environmental challenges, including technological advancements, regulatory changes, and financial incentives.

Present research findings in clear, accessible reports that highlight environmental challenges and potential solutions.

Produce compelling, data-driven reports and surveys for external publication, ensuring high engagement and impact.

Collaborate with communications teams to translate complex data into visually engaging content for traditional and digital media.

Manage relationships with external contractors, including researchers, polling firms, and academics, as needed.

Support fundraising efforts by providing key data and insights for campaign and fundraising teams.

Ensure all team members are well-briefed on the latest data and intelligence when engaging externally.

Job Purpose
Carers Manchester Contact Point (CMCP) is the first point of contact for unpaid carers seeking information, advice and support to help them with their caring role.
The service delivers a free confidential helpline for carers weekdays (Monday – Friday, 10am – 4pm). These times are subject to change, based on the needs and requirements of carers using the service.
The aim of this role is to be part of a team providing a comprehensive information, advice and support to carers in Manchester. The post holder will work alongside colleagues from Gaddum and potentially other organisations to be the first contact in a busy service providing advice via a telephone advice line and managing referrals made through digital sources. They will provide information and advice and refer more complex issues to the appropriate agencies delivering the Manchester Carers Pathway.
Key responsibilities
Advice giving
- Answering telephone calls into a central helpline offering support and guidance to unpaid carers in Manchester.
- Provide relevant and meaningful support and information to unpaid carers utilising internal and external resources.
- Inform carers about carers assessments and refer where necessary.
- Inform carers about emergency grants available and refer where necessary.
- Ensure all advice and support given is delivered in a timely manner to suit the needs of carers calling the helpline whilst balancing waiting callers.
Follow-up support
- Refer unpaid carers to local services to access local and culturally appropriate support in their area.
- Refer carers to Adult Social Care for Carers Assessments to discuss and improve their caring situation.
- Signpost carers to relevant services in Manchester suited to their individual need.
- Complete relevant grant applications for carers using the service where needed.
- Use Carers Manchester Contact Point and other reliable and accurate resources to find, interpret and communicate relevant information to carers
- Research and explore options and implications so that carers can make informed decisions.
- Write and maintain detailed case records for all casework completed.
- Collect required data for statistical monitoring and report preparation.
- Complete the required training to comply with quality assurance processes.
The post-holder will be required to undertake other tasks as reasonably directed by the CMCP Coordinator, which will usually be commensurate with the skills and experience of the post-holder.
