The Opportunity
We are seeking a Director to help lead, develop and grow our Evaluation practice. The Director will sit on our Practice Board and be a key part of the leadership team guiding the success of the practice both commercially and in terms of social impact.
We design and deliver high-quality research and evaluation projects that help our partners make better decisions for children using good evidence. We work with more than 1,400 schools and 80 education organisations each year, with a wide range of partners including schools and multi-academy Trusts, charities and edtech companies, and the public sector.
The Director role will lead business development and strategic partnerships, support and oversee evaluation delivery, and hold a number of strategic responsibilities. For the right candidate we hope it will be both a challenging and rewarding opportunity to shape the direction of a growing social enterprise and help our partners make better decisions to benefit young people.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone with experience in research and evaluation, business development, and leadership and management. We are particularly interested in experience of delivering quantitative impact evaluations, though are open to hearing from a range of candidates. Experience and understanding of the UK education system would also be an asset.

Join us at the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association and play a pivotal role in ensuring people affected by MND have access to new and innovative treatments. As a Senior Policy Advisor (Access to Treatments), you will be essential in providing the Association with the vital information and analysis needed to influence health and care policymakers.
You will lead on issues related to access to treatments and healthcare, including the availability of medicines, genetic tests, and new care models. You'll monitor the policy landscape and regulatory environment, develop policy positions, and engage with external partners to maximise the availability and accessibility of treatments and clinical trials.
You will collaborate closely with our internal colleagues, particularly the Senior Policy Advisor for Research and Healthcare, to enhance the availability of clinical trials. Your work will involve analysing policy issues, identifying solutions, and preparing briefing documents for senior colleagues.
Engagement with a variety of stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, and people with MND, is key. You will also liaise with organisations such as the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), and NHS England, communicating the MND Association's positions through policy papers, briefings, and reports.
Additionally, you will support our public affairs and campaigning efforts to influence politicians and decision-makers on issues related to access to treatments. This includes conducting research, producing policy reports, and organising consultation meetings, seminars, and conferences.
Hybrid Working Expectations: up to 2 days per week office attendance

What are we looking for?
Strong knowledge and understanding of the policy environment governing access to treatments. You'll bring demonstrable experience working with key organisations including NICE, MHRA, and NHS England, as well as industry stakeholders.
Your expertise will include analysing and addressing policy issues in areas such as research, treatment access, and care. You will be comfortable working with complex policy challenges, using your strong analytical and research skills to identify solutions.
We value excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, along with the ability to prioritise and manage a demanding workload. You will thrive both working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
