You will be working in one of three London properties alongside a large multi-agency staff team made up of experts by experience/profession in psychology and therapy; youth work; offending; education, training, and employment (ETE) and housing. The service will work creatively and holistically to enable young people to exit environments involving youth violence, identify and reach their goals and aspirations, move on successfully to appropriate independent living, and importantly to sustain this life. Wherever possible staff and young people will co-produce what this service looks like and what activities the young people engage in. Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) is an award-winning charity that offers welfare, wellbeing and mental health support and services to veterans of the UK Armed Forces and Merchant Navy in Portsmouth, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight. They provide a Drop-In model of support, a welfare advice service, a range of peer-supported wellbeing activities and social groups, and access to psychology, psychiatry, and therapy services.
VOS has secured additional funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to continue the work of the Thrive Together programme (formerly VPPP) in the South East, which is designed to bring together a network of veterans’ support agencies that will take an informed approach across the South East region to ensure that there are connected pathways, which work well for veterans; that there are safe places for veterans to go, which connect into these pathways; and that volunteers and staff who support veterans have access to training and work closely with other organisations within veterans’ mental health pathways.
The Families and Carers Project Manager will work with the Thrive Together Portfolio Manager, Partners, and members of the VOS core team to explore the challenges of reaching out to families and carers of veterans, many of whom may be unaware that they are entitled to support and to make recommendations as to how this might be improved.

Recovery and Connect is a project delivered in partnership with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The Recovery and Connect Worker will work intensively with a caseload of individuals identified by the HomeFirst alliance, who have a pre-existing mental health concern and to support them to access ongoing community services. The role will involve working as part of a team aligned to the shared care forum to support vulnerable service users.
About You
With a diploma or degree in appropriate subject i.e. counselling, psychology, social work, probation, mental health, Health and Social Care (level 3) and community experience of mental health, wellbeing, or behaviour change work with adults, you will have:
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (statutory and voluntary).
- An understanding of confidentiality, consent, information sharing, including GDPR.
- An understanding of Safeguarding policy and practice.
- Good communication and written skills and a commitment to accurate and confidential record keeping.
- The ability to interact effectively with the clients, colleagues and other professionals whilst retaining clear boundaries.
- The ability to work to all the policies, procedures, and standards of the service and joint working arrangements with statutory and voluntary sector partners.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of mental health issues.
- Knowledge and skills of engagement, motivational, and behaviour change approaches.
- Knowledge and understanding of community working, lone working, and ability to maintain safety whilst working in the community.
- The ability to use supervision effectively.
- A good understanding of personal limitations, ability to identify when to seek advice and support, and deal with issues in a professional manner.
- The ability to manage any challenging behaviour from clients.
- The ability to self-manage a caseload.

The role of Clinical Team Manager is to manage and support a range of clinicians and therapeutic practitioners in their delivery of high quality psychological interventions. The teams that this role will manage could include Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners, Counsellors, CBT therapists and Play Therapists, among others.
Ormiston Families has held the contract to deliver mental health services to young people and families for over a decade. We offer high quality 1:1 therapy and early intervention programmes to children and young people between the ages of 4-18 who experience social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. We also offer parent led interventions and family-based support. We work collaboratively across an innovative alliance of partner providers in the processing of referrals for those aged 0-25, sharing expertise, learning and resources.
Your clinical and management skills will help us develop and lead our diverse clinical teams which include trainees, early career professionals, developing practitioners and highly experienced clinicians. These skills will ensure we can provide a responsive, high-quality service. You will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues as well as external stakeholders. As a valued member of our management team, you will help us to ensure the service runs smoothly and provide effective leadership and management of clinical staff and resources. We’re looking for someone who is organised, forward-thinking, has plenty of enthusiasm and motivation, and works well in a team. Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Your base location will be our hub in central Norwich, and likely to include travel across the county.
