About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Dementia UK in a newly created, high-impact role as Head of Facilities, where you will lead the strategic and operational management of our working environments and help shape the future of how we work.
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of building maintenance, security, contract management, health and safety, and office services - ensuring our facilities are safe, sustainable, and support a high-performing, inclusive workforce. Based at our central office in One Aldgate, you’ll ensure the building runs smoothly, efficiently, and in line with the evolving needs of a growing charity.
This role also extends beyond the office walls. Your role will involve preparing briefing notes for Trustees, managing estate and trust account reconciliations, and ensuring that taxes, including Capital Gains, Income, and Inheritance Tax, are handled correctly, safeguarding Guide Dogs’ interests. You’ll also protect Guide Dogs’ position when property or land is involved, securing necessary valuations to achieve the best possible value. Additionally, you will stay up to date with changes in probate, tax, and trust law, ensuring your approach is always in line with the latest regulations and practices.

The role:
Reporting directly to the COO, the Financial Controller will ensure the provision of consistent, robust financial advice to the charity as a whole. This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance and financial operations, ensuring these are compliant with statutory requirements and appropriate and effective financial controls are in place. They will also maintain a financial planning framework that will facilitate the delivery of the charity's financial strategy. The person:
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant and will be able to provide excellent financial management and reporting for the Charity. They will be confident working with different internal stakeholders and external professional advisors and will be capable of considering their different requirements and priorities in a knowledgeable way. This person will have excellent attention to detail and will be highly organised and a strong communicator across a wide range of audiences. Educated to Degree level or the equivalent (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CIPFA), this person will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication and will be up to date on all MS Office packages and financial software including SAGE being essential.
Candidates with prior experience of working with endowed Trusts, Foundations or Charities or who have worked in Charities that have income derived from a permanent endowment (either partially or totally), will be of particular interest, so please draw attention to this when applying.
This person will have demonstrated substantial financial management experience at a senior level in the Charity or Not-for-Profit sectors, with extensive knowledge of UK Charity Accounting Standards (SORP, Charity Commission compliance and VAT). About the Role
As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for setting up and updating all property and resident accounts on the rental ledger system and for ensuring that rental income in correctly reflected on both the rent and finance systems on a timely basis.
You will work closely with project staff and housing benefit departments regarding rental income queries and ensure that rental income is received in accordance with the charity’s internal financial controls and all legal regulatory requirements are complied with. We are seeking a Church Buildings Support Officer (CBSO) to support Anglican parishes across East and West Sussex in caring for their church buildings.

About the Role
The Church Buildings Support Officer will proactively support parishes in caring for their church buildings and planning development projects. This will include administering the Minor Repairs and Improvements and Quick Wins grant funds, ensuring that quinquennial inspections are carried out, and assisting parishes with planning repairs. The CBSO will also advise on the development of churches, including options for the introduction of new facilities, making churches more accessible, and works towards achieving the Net Zero by 2030 target set by the Church of England.
The CBSO will also signpost to colleagues for assistance with permissions, fundraising and finance and governance issues, and towards key guidance on topics relating to building conservation, the development of church buildings, Net Zero, and insurance and health and safety. There will also be an opportunity to work on an application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for a diocesan led project and support the delivery of the project if this application is successful.
About You
This role would suit somebody with a strong interest in historic church buildings and experience in the conservation, management and development of historic buildings. You will need to be a team player, who is self-motivated, enjoys working with people, and is able to balance a busy and varied workload.
The role is funded by the Church of England’s Buildings for Mission fund for an initial period of one year with the possibility of extension, subject to funding.

30 hours per week / £27,770 per annum, pro rata / Maternity cover - fixed-term until 24 April 2026 / working Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm, (with some flexibility) based in Eastbourne, delivering Transitional Services in the community across Eastbourne, Bexhill, St Leonards and Hastings.

East Sussex Transitional Housing is a low-support service, providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for 102 young people between the ages of 18-25 who have been, or are, at risk of homelessness. We have a small, supportive, and established team which manages 19 housing properties across, Eastbourne, Bexhill and Hastings. We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures.
We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our East Sussex Transitional team. You will be based at the YMCA office in Eastbourne but will be visiting our seven properties around Eastbourne each week, meeting with residents in their homes and at the office - main areas of responsibilities are:
Housing
- You will hold a caseload of young people who are housed across our sites with the support of the team.Support provided is light touch, and a good knowledge of partner agencies is essential for relevant signposting
- Interview young people to assess their suitability for our housing
- Support young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules in preparation for independent living.Helping young people navigate shared living skills is key to this role and includes facilitating house meetings, rotas and cleaning sessions
- Support young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent and liaise with housing benefit
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people
- Complete Occupancy Sign up and induction with incoming residents
- Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent, ASB or breaches of Health and Safety, using restorative practices
- Contribute to maintaining properties to a high standard including conducting health and safety checks
Support and Engagement
- Light touch support to residents, signposting to partner agencies as appropriate
- Support each resident to develop their own person-centred Support Plan with short- and long-term goals to work towards independent living skills and their next accommodation steps
- Arrange Review Meetings with young people at least once every 3 months to update and review risk assessments and support plans
- Check in with each resident at least once a week
- Encourage a culture of education, employment and engagement
- Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries
- Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance)
General
- Work as part of a team
- Treat young people at the service in a non-judgmental and psychologically informed way
- Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations
- Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice
- Liaise effectively with other professionals and services

Experience and Knowledge
- Experience relating to housing, support work, and/or working with young people
- Experience of working proactively with a caseload of young people with multiple and complex needs to enable them to achieve independent living

- Knowledge of good safeguarding procedures in relation to young people and the ability to maintain effective professional boundaries
- Demonstrated confidence and competence in recording notes/actions in service log, incident forms and health and safety check lists
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing for appropriate recording of a resident’s progression, and to evidence outcomes achieved
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, including signposting and advocating for clients as necessary
- Ability to work autonomously, and use own initiative, as well as being part of a team
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, good IT, and keyboard skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritise

The deputy manager will contribute to the management of our dispersed accommodation service, in line with Refuge’s policies and procedures and quality management system.
The post holder will provide line management and support to staff, mainly Floating Support Workers. This will include providing supervision on complex casework issues such as child protection, overseeing operational emergencies and ensuring high standards of housing management.
Working closely with the Service Manager to ensure that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully, and that Refuge’s high-quality standards are maintained, the role may involve visiting potential sites and contributing to the establishment of new services in conjunction with the development team. The job involves working closely with staff that supports victim/survivors of Domestic Abuse in crisis using our services.
As a member of the management team, the post holder will be required to participate in an out-of-hours rota management service.
There is also a requirement to have access to a vehicle, as regular travel across Warwickshire between properties will be required.

We are looking for a dynamic new Hall Manager to be responsible for the successful management, maintenance and daily running of our parish centre: St Mary Abbots Centre, Vicarage Gate, London, W8 4HN. This role would be ideal for someone with events experience as there is a lot of diary management: booking and building relationships with theatre companies, weekly children’s groups, local community organisations, school parents, the occasional reception for a wedding or baptism and more!

The income from the hall supports the work and mission of St Mary Abbots, a large and lively church in Kensington, with close links to parish school and community. We are looking for a candidate to maintain the commercial success of the rental spaces while also enabling church events and community and charity groups at the centre.
The ideal candidate would be both self-motivated and a team player, organised, willing to work flexible hours, with good communication and diary management skills, physically fit and proactive.
