Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.
Purpose of the Management Accountant role:
As Management Accountant, the successful candidate will play an integral role in sure the accurate reporting of all financial information with systems and processes operating effectively. Responsible for the preparation of management accounts and other reports, the Management Accountant will oversee general accounting procedures and practices, combining financial, analytical and management skills to aid our managers with decision-making and promoting long-term financial success in order to meet our organisational goals.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Management Accountant:

Prepare timely and accurate financial management information including regular management accounts and forecasts to be provided to the Chief Executive, Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

Support the Head of Finance in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, members of the SLT and team managers in order to aid in their understanding of budgets and financial statements, and to support them with their day-to-day budget management and finance needs.

Develop and oversee financial systems and procedures, identifying opportunities to improve these.
What we are looking for in our Management Accountant:
-
Fully qualified accountant: ACCA, CIMA, ACA (or equivalent).

Strong technical accounting, financial management and reporting experience.
-
Ability to analyse complex information, problem solve and communicate findings effectively.
-
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with all levels of an organisation.
-
Strong knowledge of SORP and Charity Commission protocols, GDPR and data protection regulations, and tax planning and compliance, inclusive of Gift Aid, Legacies, HMRC employee taxes, VAT and pension regulations.

Proven experience as a Management Accountant within a finance department.

High level of numeracy and accuracy.

Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Computer literacy with good knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Excel.

Excellent attention to detail.

Relevant continuing professional development (desirable).

Understanding of Fundraising Regulator guidelines, VAT partial exemption returns, accounting and tax issues relating to charities, and of domestic abuse and its impact (desirable).

Previous experience of working in a charity environment and supervising a team (desirable).

This role is responsible for proactively supporting the Finance Manager in the effective management of Frontline’s finance function. It involves the achievement of finance best practices within the day-to-day finance operations that will foster a high-performance culture, empowerment, quality, productivity, and compliance within Frontline.
As part of this role, we will agree to pay for accounting exams as required and you will be entitled for 2 days study leave per exam.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Producing monthly management accounts spreadsheets, assist in accounts variance analysis
- Supporting budget holders in a variety of ways including managing budgets, annual budget setting, preparing reports for funders and external bodies
- Processing journals (accruals, prepayments, accrued and deferred income) and run reports within the accounting system
- Maintaining the nominal ledger and Fixed Assets Register
- Assisting in the preparation of cashflow forecasts, funding application and the annual statutory accounts.
- Undertaking balance sheet reconciliations
A little bit about you
This role will suit an someone experienced in management or financial accounting, and will support someone who is a part-qualified accountant aiming to complete their studies (although this is not essential). The panel would like to see applicants that are resilient, efficient and can communicate financial information to non-experts in a clear, concise and understandable way.
We have a fast-moving culture within the team and organisation, so we’re looking for someone who is who is well organised, details-focused and can use their initiative to do what works. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to build relationships with people and be willing to learn. Starlight is the national charity transforming children’s health through play. We work
to ensure that every child can benefit from the incredible power of play, supporting
their mental and physical health during treatment and recovery from illness.
Play is not just a ‘nice to have’, without play, children can experience short, and
long-term problems. In fact, it’s so important, that being able to engage in play is
one of the human rights listed in the UN’s Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Without play, problems faced can range from anxiety around having blood tests
which could mean appointments being abandoned and rescheduled, to developing
PTSD and a fear around visiting hospitals and healthcare settings. It’s not
uncommon for health play specialists to have to meet children in the car park as
they are too scared to even set foot inside the hospital.
Each year, there are nearly 1.8 million child hospital admissions in the UK and
nearly three-quarters (71%) of NHS trusts and health boards do not have any
budget for play.
This is simply not good enough; we think that play in healthcare is non-negotiable.
Driven by our research and insights into what works best for them, we provide direct
services and resources for children and their families; and to the health
professionals working with them. We also advocate for more and better health play
services in public policy; and promote the full recognition of health play practitioners
as an integral component of the children’s health workforce.
Our Health Play Services Delivery team provide physical and digital materials and
resources which support the delivery of health play to practitioners and families.
These are informed by insight, evidence and evaluation from our Insight and Impact

The current Health Play Services Delivery Manager is about to be seconded to a

Working Well Trust is a mental health, learning disability and neurodiverse and employment focused charity in London. This new role of People Lead will be working with our team to support their employment and wellbeing, as well as providing the key structure and systems to enable the Trust to deliver to our clients and funders. About the role
The Head of Fundraising at InFocus is our senior fundraiser. They report to the Director of Income Generation and Business Development (IGBD) who has a varied portfolio that also includes marketing and communications, catering, charity retail, and strategic partnerships. This means that you will be part of a wider team (and all the support that comes with it), but will still have overall responsibility for setting the direction of our fundraising activity.
This appointment comes at a time when we need to consolidate our existing unrestricted fundraising activities and look towards preparing a substantial capital campaign to develop our site.
Our charity receives a large amount of statutory funding and has a relatively small pool of regular supporters and donors. It’s essential that the Head of Fundraising can take a strategic approach to growing income, but particularly through researching and writing quality applications to charitable trusts and foundations (which has typically made up a large part of our fundraising mix).
A Fundraising Relationship Officer is in post and is managed by the Head of Fundraising. They will need to be supported to make sure that we continue to grow our emerging individual, community and corporate fundraising streams.
About you
You will have practical experience in trusts and foundations, and be prepared to step into a leadership role in a small but friendly team. You’ll need to be a confident communicator with donors and supporters, as well as a diverse staff team spread across our large campus at the edge of Exeter (and six charity retail stores).

Main responsibilities
· Development and implementation of a fundraising strategy including a portfolio aimed at generating in the region of £500,000 per annum, building on existing fundraising activities and developing new fundraising initiatives.
· Use the portfolio indicators to enable us to make informed projections regarding future income.
· Be proactive in identifying, engaging and building good relationships with prospective corporate donors, successfully securing them as funding partners. Deepen our engagement and grow our relationship with existing corporate donors.
· Work with the team to develop our church and faith partnerships to ensure these are increased, ongoing and become regular supporters.
· Explore and implement ways of promoting Good Company and its projects to successfully attract individual donors, some of which will be in the high value supporters' field alongside provide regular communications to current funders and run one off campaigns.
· Explore and increase our income from grant giving trusts and foundations. At times working in fundraising partnerships with support of external consultants and colleagues across the wider Trussell Trust network
· Implement a CRM system to oversee the above aspects.
· Share best practice and learning from other charities across the Trussell network.
· Support our partnership work with other Trussell based foodbanks in Surrey to address poverty.
Through this new organisational role, you will proactively create and grow fundraising income opportunities with individuals, community groups, the faith sector and grant giving trusts and foundations. You'll be at the heart of our local community, bringing our cause to life and building lasting donor relationships.
Through your fundraising expertise, you will have a proven track record of building relationships with individuals, community groups, trusts and foundations and other donors to achieve and exceed annual income targets. • Support our High-Value fundraising, both at a National and Community level, by providing prospect research and insight and overseeing all the processes for management of this activity.
Key skills and Knowledge
• An understanding of the role of fundraising operations within a charity environment.
• Be proficient in using relationship management databases and an understanding of data management best practice, preferably some previous experience in using CRMs
• Knowledge of prospect research strategies, specialist tools and techniques within a fundraising context.
• Experience in identifying and qualifying potential new high-value funding prospects, including major donors, corporate partners, trusts and foundations.

Role Overview:
This role is based at our Living Space Community Centre in Waterloo, SE1, which is a vibrant and inclusive centre dedicated to promoting free to access youth activities, it has 2 halls for hire and 5 small non-profit business offices upstairs. The Community Centre Manager will proactively take the lead working with staff, stakeholders, partners, hirers and the local community raising awareness of BOST’s work, animating the centre, ensuring its sustainability.
You will be responsible for various aspects of facilities management, health and safety, planning and delivering projects within the centre, managing a small team, financial management and planning.
Excellent communication skills are required in both written and verbal communication with a friendly and welcoming manner. You will need to be flexible in your working approach, working both independently and as part of a team to deliver the aims of the charity. This will include working evenings and occasional weekends.
