ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for someone dynamic and progressive to manage operations (people, places and finance) for our growing organisation.  Helping us to navigate an exciting new period in our development, your role will be to manage and shape the organisation’s operations and HR to ensure we have the right systems and processes in place to deliver our work effectively and in ways that are in line with our feminist, participatory and anti-oppression values.

We are keen to find someone interested in having a core role within an organisation, delivering a wide range of internal projects that support staff wellbeing, communications, anti-racism and culture, including exploring and implementing progressive and radical HR policies that help us to further embed a culture of care.  You will work supportively and dynamically with our collaborative and friendly team. You will be supported by the Head of Organisational Development, who you will work with to develop new strategies and priority areas of work.

KEY INFORMATION

Salary -£37,637.15 FTE per annum, pro rata 

Contract - 4 days (28 hours) per week, permanent

Location - Based at Wen’s Shoreditch office, with hybrid working available

Supervising - IT Co-ordinator, Operations Assistant and volunteers (up to 5 people).

RESPONSIBILITIES

People (HR)

• Manage and maintain HR policies, procedures and practices including the employee handbook, ensuring they are up to date, recorded, filed and adhered to (i.e. personnel contracts, DBS, volunteers, holidays, sick leave)
• Develop and implement new systems, policies and processes that support anti-oppression, care and inclusion. 
• Ensure that Wen is compliant, abiding by relevant legislation (including GDPR) and arrange training for staff as needed
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, staff development and all other people processes
• Ensure appropriate support and supervision is in place for all staff, including overseeing training for all staff
• Promote improvements in internal communication, ensuring staff, volunteers and interns are informed of organisational developments and have opportunities to give feedback that will help shape our ways of working for the better.
• Oversee the co-ordination of all-staff events, meetings, socials and team building.
• Monitor and evaluate staff wellbeing, taking steps to address as needed.
• Ensure appropriate and compliant documentation and record maintenance for all HR processes across the organisation including absence management.
• Designated Safeguarding Lead for the organisation.

Places (Office management and IT)

• Ensure smooth running of Wen’s main office to ensure it provides a welcoming, efficient and safe space to work in, ensuring health and safety procedures are implemented and maintained with help from the Operations Assistant.
• Utilise the Core Operations budget with help from the Operations Assistant to ensure Wen is maintaining photocopier, stationary supplies, liaising with our landlord about rent, maintaining phones, health and safety, fire procedures, utilities, rates and insurance.
• Oversee the IT Coordinator to ensure licenses are up to date, IT issues are solved promptly and IT developments and changes across our two sites and hybrid team are tracked

Finance

• Work with Finance Manager and Head of Organisational Development to establish strong financial processes and policies and ensure staff are aware of the relevant ones
• Liaising with our Finance Manager on day-to-day accounting as and when necessary 
• Managing the Core Operations budget including approval of expenditure (as a signatory) and cashflow preparation for the coming financial year
• Checking and collation of monthly payroll information

People Support

• Managing the Operations Assistant and IT Co-ordinator.
• Supporting volunteers as required and oversee managing our volunteer database.
• Supporting Wen team with HR and other Operations-related matters.

Along with any other reasonable tasks and duties deemed relevant to the role.

PWS is a complex genetic disorder characterised by low muscle tone and failure to thrive at birth, and later evidence of short stature, intellectual disabilities, behavioural and psychiatric challenges and impaired satiety.

Main purpose and scope of role

Working closely with the President and the Board of Trustees, the CEO will provide strategic vision and leadership and will strive to ensure that IPWSO delivers its charitable purposes and remains successful and sustainable.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to)

Leadership

· Strive to ensure that the charitable purposes of IPWSO are followed and that it delivers the public benefit set out in its governing document.

· Take overall responsibility for the management and administration of IPWSO.

· Provide support and information to the Board of Trustees to enable trustees to fulfil their roles and legal responsibilities.

· Pursue close cooperation with, and accountability to, IPWSO’s members.

· Act as an ambassador for IPWSO by representing IPWSO at events and networking to build new strategic relationships.

· Keep abreast of relevant new research, treatment recommendations and service developments for people with Prader-Willi syndrome.

Governance

· Strive to ensure that IPWSO has governance systems in place that enable it to consistently fulfil its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities.

· Maintain awareness of risks and changes in the external environment that could affect IPWSO and advise the Board of Trustees accordingly.

· Together with the President manage complaints (including from whistle-blowers) and recommend actions to the Board of Trustees

Finance and Fundraising

· Work with the Treasurer and the Finance Committee to ensure the overall financial health and sustainability of IPWSO.

· Work with the Treasurer and the Finance Committee to prepare budgets for review by the Board of Trustees and to enable IPWSO to operate within its financial means.

· Seek to ensure that appropriate financial reports are submitted to the Charity Commission and other entities as required.

· Support the work of the Fundraising Committee and strive to ensure a sustainable income from both IPWSO members and individual, corporate, philanthropic and government donors.

· Build relationships with potential donors and prepare funding proposals.

· Seek to provide high quality support to existing donors, by means including the preparation of regular reports and updates.

· Seek out and build new income streams.

Staff, Trustee and Volunteer and Committee Support

· Provide support to staff, trustees and volunteers to enable them to carry out their duties.

· Deputise for other staff members during periods of leave.

· Conduct annual reviews with staff.

· Participate in the recruitment of new staff as required.

· Provide support and advice to IPWSO committees and conference organisers.

Project Support

· Seek to ensure that all IPWSO projects are designed and implemented in accordance with IPWSO’s mission and objectives.

· Support IPWSO’s Project Managers and others who lead IPWSO projects and, if necessary, manage projects directly.

Essential

Proficiency in English.

Title: Senior Administrative Manager

Location: Haywards Heath, with a preference for 1-2 days per week in the office       

Contract: Three-year fixed term contract

Salary: £31,644 to £39,000 per annum

About the role

The primary purpose of the Senior Administrative Manager will be to support the NTD (Neglected Tropical Disease) Department in functioning effectively and efficiently. This role involves coordinating administrative and support systems, procedures, and sub-teams essential for the management of the NTD portfolio.

Background

Sightsavers’ NTD directorate oversees projects funded by various donors to control and eliminate five PC-NTDs: onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis, trachoma, schistosomiasis, and soil-transmitted helminths in 28 countries. These projects are executed by country office teams, ministries of health, and partners, with operational and technical support from the NTD Department.

Principal Accountabilities 

• Oversee the creation and renewal of requested consultancy agreements with Human Resources, ensuring appropriate procedures are followed and records are kept updated.
• Manage the contractual organisation of the team of internationally located technical consultants and work with the relevant Global Disease Advisor to coordinate all aspects of support missions undertaken by the them 
• Ensure professional meeting support for all external NTD meetings with donors and international partners as requested by the NTD SMT.  This includes logistics, room bookings, agendas, slides, recording, virtual participation where required and minute documentation and distribution. 

• Assemble information as required for presentations, communications and reports, and manage internal document storage systems (Microsoft SharePoint and Teams). 

• Support the Grant Directors and IFT to compile key donor milestone reports and ensure a fully functional and accessible external ShareFile system for key donor groups where required

• Support communications both within the NTD Department team and with external stakeholders through dissemination of newsletters and maintaining contact lists. 

• Using all members of the admin team, coordinate the support for all regular internal PDU calls (recurring invites, agenda sharing and minute taking).

• Provide travel support to the SMT and Grant Directors where requested. 

• Manage/supervise NTD Dept Coordinator

• Undertake additional ad-hoc administrative duties as required.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and delivery of a 3-year train the trainer pilot programme in the chosen pilot locations in England or Scotland.

Reporting to the Head of Programmes, Gender and Humanitarian the post holder will identify, prospect and approach new institutional donors, converting them form prospects to secured funds. You will ensure the effective delivery of a portfolio of institutional and corporate grants, making sure projects are achieving key milestones and that day-to-day activities are on track. The Programme Development Manager will provide high quality project information to both internal and external stakeholders, extracting and quality assuring project data relevant for reporting, and making sure all projects are compliant with donor requirements. You will proactively manage relationships with existing donors, developing engagement strategies, sharing key information, and laying groundwork for follow-on funding. Finally, you will lead proposals for new and existing donors, coordinating inputs from Hand in Hand International and network colleagues, drafting technical inputs, and engaging with funders where required.

The ideal candidate will have an innovative approach and a strong track record in fundraising from large institutional donors; trusts and foundations, corporate foundations and governments. The main objective of the role is to identify, prospect and approach new institutional donors, converting them from prospects to secured funds. The role will be roughly 70% fundraising and 30% grant management.

As well as a demonstrable track-record securing large, multi-year grants from different types of funders, you will have experience with their thematic areas: women’s economic empowerment, value chains, livelihoods or enterprise acceleration. Experience working in development projects in Eastern Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe. Experience in Afghanistan would be a plus.

Retail People Manager

Location:  Riddings Lighthouse, Derbyshire 
Contract:  Permanent, Full time
Salary: £26,500 - £28,500 per annum 
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday (5 days) acting as an emergency contact on a rota basis one weekend in four. 

The Lighthouse retail portfolio prides itself on innovation and creativity ,offering the sale of preloved goods in an array of shops within local communities.  Lighthouse retail has 34 stores across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire run by paid staff and volunteers.  Our retail vison revolves around ‘The People’ within the organisation with a view to invest and develop to reach our fullest potential. 

The People Manager will be responsible for overseeing the staffing across each one of our stores, ensuring that shops are fully staffed day to day. They will need a practical and engaging approach to enable staff to thrive in their roles and feel supported to meet the charity’s vision and mission. They will work alongside the rest of the retail team ensuring the aims and objectives of the people strategy are achieved. 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities: 

People Management

• Be responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operations relating to the people side of retail. 
• Ensure the shop team and volunteer relationship is a professional and successful one
• Act as the first point of contact for the volunteer administrator in relation to volunteering matters and queries for retail. 
• Effectively communicate any relevant information to all shop teams regarding updates, charity activities, incentives, and performance. 
• Work closely with management and employees to embed changes and ensure solutions are realistic and sustainable. 
• Be able to work closely with the retail management team including the retail sales manager to ensure the people side of the charity is not impacting sales. 
• Overseeing the retail portfolio sickness and absence management including allocation and approval of annual leave throughout the year, forward planning contingency strategies ensuring shops are covered all the time even at short notice. Ensuring staffing hours do not exceed there’re banding allocation.
• Be competent in assisting with grievances, supporting with investigations and assisting with disciplinaries. 
• Act as deputy safeguarding lead as and when required. Be able to act in an advisory capacity demonstrating a higher level of experience and understanding when dealing with safeguarding issues that arise. 
• Be responsible for overseeing and leading with probation placements across our retail sites, acting as point of contact and ensuring that the relevant paperwork is up to date including the risk assessments for each placement. 

People Development 

• Ability to mentor and support staff through regular one to ones ensuring that they feel fully equipped to achieve optimum success in their work.
• Collaboratively with the HR team review and update the volunteer induction and training programme ensuring all aspects are relevant to the retail portfolio.
• Support staff with capability and performance issues including the management of their own staff issues such as, sickness, disciplinary, grievances and concerns through probation periods.
• Work closely with the retail management team on the delivery of innovative and interactive internal and external training to help staff develop their skill sets and achieve career satisfaction.

Recruitment & Onboarding

• Work closely with HR developing and implementing strategies to improve recruitment, attracting suitable staff, and retaining them.
• Ensure suitable and sufficient coverage of volunteer support in the retail portfolio.

Pivot (Home from Hospital)

Pivot (Home from Hospital) is delivered as part of the Pembrokeshire Integrated Assisted Discharge Partnership commissioned by the Hywel Dda University Health Board. The service aims to support people’s discharge from the hospital and prevent unnecessary readmittance. It also supports people to either remain in or return to their own homes, where evidence shows they are most likely to make the best recovery and retain their independence for longer.

As part of the wider partnership, Volunteering Matters recruits and places volunteers to provide short-term practical support to individuals in their homes, for example, providing help with shopping, light cleaning, or befriending, etc., and we are now looking for two dynamic Engagement Manager to join our local team. The role will involve recruiting, onboarding and supporting a local bank of volunteers, whilst managing referrals into the scheme, having ‘What Matters’ conversations with service users and coordinating a matching process so that people get the timely help they need. You will also get the opportunity to take part in other volunteering projects across the area. The right candidate will be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrates an understanding and total commitment to our organisational values.

Please note: this role will require Saturday mornings working on a rota basis (approximately 1 in 3).

 Key Duties:

World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to refugees in the UK.STEP aims to support and empower people with experience of forced migration through a tailored employment programme that addresses the complex barriers refugees face in preparing for, and ultimately finding, work in the UK.STEP is open to all refugees, and people seeking asylum with the right to work.

Our strategy over the next 12 months is to refine and strengthen our programmes, with a focus on excellence, innovation and sustainability across STEP.  Central to these efforts is adopting ‘Lean Impact’ principles across our organisation and ways of working, with the support of Spring Impact. The starting point of this work is the planning and pilot of STEP Online, an intensive version of STEP to fast track those who are highly skilled. We plan to explore, test and plan for this programme in consultancy with Spring Impact, leveraging their Lean Impact Methodology.

The Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art (PMC) is looking for a Networks Manager (Parental Leave Cover) to oversee the delivery of the Centre’s Networks and further develop our offer.

As a research centre and educational charity, PMC aims to generate original, inclusive and creative thinking and scholarship on British art, understood in its most diverse and expansive contexts. We host and support a thriving programme of research events. We publish innovative books and a wide range of digital outputs, including our prize-winning journal British Art Studies. We pursue individual and collaborative research projects. With our grants and fellowships programme, we sustain the most exciting and original work in British art and visual culture. About the Role

PMC is looking for a Networks Manager (Parental Leave Cover) to manage the delivery of the Centre’s Networks and further develop our offer of networking events and skill development programmes.

The PMC’s Networks connect and support researchers who are engaging with British art in its broadest sense, at different stages of their working lives. The networks currently include the Doctoral Researchers Network (DRN), Early Career Researchers Network (ECRN) and the British Art Network (BAN), a subject-specialist network supported by PMC in partnership with Tate. The programming of each network is led by a convenor: annually appointed external convenors in the case of the ECRN and DRN; the Head of Grants, Networks and Learning in the case of BAN. Additionally, the PMC Networks team run programmes and events to support the vocational development of emerging researchers and professionals, currently including the British Art in Motion film competition and the Art Trade Seminar. During 2025 our Networks programme will be developed and refined, with a new consolidated network for emerging researchers. The post-holder will undertake the final planning and implementation of the new network.

Salary will be £44,000.

This post is a fixed-term contract for a minimum period of 10 months, full-time and the hours of work are 35 per week.

Responsibilities

British Art Network

The successful applicant will:

• take an active role in the BAN team, based across Tate and PMC, in overseeing the effective delivery of the Network’s activities
• lead on BAN’s membership and communications, including working with the external web developer in maintaining and developing the dedicated BAN website and preparing and delivering membership-wide mailings
• work with the Convenor to plan and deliver the Curatorial Forum (a global residential programme) overseeing the logistics and administration (including travel and accommodation bookings)
