The UK Men’s Sheds Association (UKMSA) is seeking a skilled and inspirational CEO to lead our charity through the next stage of its development and the continued delivery of our core mission of improving the lives and wellbeing of men (and women) through the Men’s Shed movement across the UK.
We are looking for a Chief Executive with the energy, vision and experience to take on the strategic leadership and direction of our well-respected and fast-growing national charity, which brings tangible benefits to men’s health, mental health and suicide prevention across the UK. Our strategy is one of ambitious targets to support the expansion, reach, diversity and sustainability of the Men’s Shed movement, in line with our vision of happier and healthier men by virtue of reduced loneliness, anxiety and depression, improved wellbeing, and saved lives.
Our new CEO will be a proven and exemplary strategic leader, who will head our mission, guide the team, represent our charity with partners, funders and politicians, and support the Shed Movement we exist to serve. Your track record of inspirational leadership and excellent communications skills will be a key part of building and diversifying our funding (including developing sustainable income growth strategies and bringing in commercial sponsorship), broadening and deepening our partnerships and our relationships with government, and driving our future success. Your experience in executive leadership in the nonprofit sectors will ensure the good management and statutory compliance of UKMSA. We recognise that you may not have a background in the Men’s Shed movement, but your strong emotional intelligence will enable you to quickly develop a good understanding of the community we serve.

• Leadership – the ability to motivate, develop, and deliver through a team of staff and volunteers such that the organisation meets its goals.
• Interpersonal & Communication Skills – these will need to be excellent (including written communication) in order to build rapport and effective relationships across a range of people, from our members to the general public, political figures and senior executives in other organisations. As UKMSA’s public face, the CEO must also be adept at showcasing our work, including in the media and to parliamentary and other government bodies.
• Financial Acumen – the CEO will be expected to operate the budget and develop our new strategy for ensuring sustainable income, actively leading the development of corporate sponsorships and other significant income streams.
• Flexibility & Adaptability – the new CEO will be expected to learn about the world of Men’s Sheds quickly, to be able confidently to represent UKMSA and to build strong relationships within the Men’s Shed community (both within the UK and internationally). And as we only have a staff team of 13 (geographically dispersed), it is expected that the CEO will actively engage in some of the more tactical work, including being ‘hands on’ at events.

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven individual to join our Fundraising Team as the Community and Events Fundraiser. You will lead, plan, cost and deliver an exciting and varied community fundraising programme to grow income and a strong return on investment. Main Responsibilities
Hospital engagement and Community Relationships
- To create and increase awareness of fundraising for Southampton Hospitals Charity across all University Hospital Southampton sites working closely with the Marketing and Communications team
- To foster effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders including consultants, doctors, nurses, care group managers etc
- To ensure visibility of fundraising materials including poster sites and leaflet holders in the hospitals, community etc and ensure they are kept up to date and relevant
- To create a Fundraising Hub out of Unit 2 by driving supporters and stakeholders to the office to build a real sense of community spirit and a hive of fundraising activity
- To be proactive in seeking out new fundraising opportunities, relationships, and networks.
- To develop, support the delivery of and evaluate a strategic supporter journey and stewardship journey across the community fundraising programme focused on generating net return and supporter retention.
- To lead on researching and developing trust and charity networks to acquire new supporters in the communities served by the Trust based on audience insight and analysis
- To build and maintain relationships with supporters through face to face, telephone, email, and written correspondence with the aim of securing financial and “in kind” support.
- To have an insight led approach to our activities, regularly analysing data and gathering supporter feedback.
- To Develop a comprehensive pipeline of fundraising opportunities such as adopted charity of the year for regional shows and events, mayors and golf captains.
- To be the first point of contact for groups and individuals organising community activities to raise money for SHC, motivating and encouraging them to raise as much money as possible
- To proactively research and identify influential individuals in schools and community groups to build and develop relationships and gather support for key campaigns
- To appropriately support all community fundraising activities- Thank and report on how money is spent and provide high levels of supporter relationship management which will result in long term support.

Other
- To be responsible for the input and maintenance of the fundraising database and ensure records are kept up to date in a timely, accurate and consistent manner

- To be aware of the changing external environment to pick up on opportunities and keep abreast of current trends, circumstances or topical issues that will enhance the event or the charity.

Person Specification:
Knowledge and experience
- Experience of increasing income through successful community, events, corporate or volunteer fundraising programmes or equivalent transferable experience from another sector
- Experience of successful project management including planning and delivering projects within budgets and on time to meet departmental, team and personal objectives and KPIs
- A proven track record of delivering an excellent customer/supporter stewardship experience
- Experience of managing multiple projects and budgets
- Demonstrable experience in using data insight and analysis to inform decision making
- Excellent IT skills including using Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point as well as experience of administering and maintaining dedicated supporter CMS databases
- Knowledge of a Fundraising Database and knowledge of fundraising regulations e.g. GDPR

We are seeking a Project Research Officer to join our small team to work on a new project, which examines the use of data and powers by HMRC in addressing offshore tax compliance.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with the Director and existing Research Analyst to conduct a research project examining the ways in which HMRC addresses offshore compliance, with a focus on its use of information and existing enforcement powers, identifying areas where compliance could be improved.
Develop and undertake the research project within specified timescales, from inception to delivery, in collaboration with the wider TaxWatch team, driving the project forward, providing updates on progress the Director and Trustees. This will involve:
· Identifying key stakeholders relevant to the project, developing and building relationships, conducting interviews, gaining insight from their knowledge and experiences and identifying areas for further investigation.
· Requesting and analysing information from HMRC.
· Analysing both qualitative and quantitative data to identify key findings and making policy and procedural recommendations based on the findings.
· Producing high quality written work, including long form written reports based on the research undertaken.
· Liaising with other organisations, journalists, politicians and government bodies to publicise the findings of the report.
· A limited amount of administrative tasks that support the running of the project including documentation of research findings and tracking Freedom of Information requests on team systems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
ESSENTIAL:
· Critical thinking and a curious mindset, particularly seeking out and analysing data, from both qualitative and quantitative sources.
· Strong writing capability. TaxWatch is an organisation that places a high priority on concise and effective written style. Research must be clear, accurate and to the point.
· Ability to work remotely while working co-operatively with wider team. Organised and logical in approach.

· Comfortable with statistics, and explaining complex issues to non-specialist audiences.

Summary of the role:
The UK Programmes Officer will provide a mixture of administration and project support to the UK Programmes Manager. The role will primarily focus on project document collation, identifying funding opportunities, outreach events and UK organisations that Muslim Aid (MA) can partner in support of our strategy. About the role
Resuscitation Council UK’s (RCUK) Communications and Engagement team delivers creative communications and authentic engagement activities that support the organisation’s vision to ensure that everyone in the UK has the skills they need to save a life and receive appropriate resuscitation.
Our audiences include health and social care professionals, members of the public, charities, professional bodies and associations, UK policymakers and campaigning groups.
We are looking for a creative self-starter with a passion for digital marketing and skilled in community management.
You need to be a motivated and enthusiastic marketer who is comfortable working on impactful campaigns which have a wide and diverse reach. You should be confident bringing healthcare-related stories to life through different digital channels. You should also take a hands-on approach to all areas of marketing and understand the nuances, advantages and shortcomings of using different platforms.
You will be responsible for delivering outputs from our social media as well as leading on our email communications. You will analyse and evaluate the results of these campaigns and use insights to drive development, with support from the Digital Media and Marketing Manager.
Led by the Digital Media and Marketing Manager, you will also produce website content, support on paid advertising and creation of branded merchandise.
Digital marketing plays a key role in our ability to raise awareness for, and build the profile of, Resuscitation Council UK, our guidelines, courses, and standards. Working with other members of the Communications and Engagement team, you will support on digital aspects of campaigns and initiatives to further public awareness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, defibrillation and support for survivors.
The post holder will work closely with all members of the Communications and Engagement, Governance, Operations, Clinical and Service Development departments and build strong relationships with the wider resuscitation community. Main responsibilities and duties
Website, SEO & PPC
- Write/produce, build and publish content for the RCUK website, including articles, features, statements and updates, ensuring diversity and inclusion is considered in everything we do.
- Ensure all content, imagery or files uploaded to the website are of an optimal file size and comply with accessibility guidance e.g., alt text, descriptive links.
- Support the Digital Media and Marketing Manager to deliver the SEO priorities for the organisation and increase RCUK’s reach.
- Use insight (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Crazy Egg, surveys etc) to identify content gaps and opportunities for website improvements in line with user requirements.
Campaigns
- Support the communications and engagement team to deliver on key integrated campaigns across the year.
- Support on the delivery of marketing and communications strategies for core RCUK products: including generating sales for commercial products such as e-Lifesaver and paid events such as conferences through digital marketing and direct communications.
- Support the Media and Campaigns team with asset creation and amplify media opportunities via our digital channels
- Support the Policy and Public Affairs team with uploading policy briefings and maintaining resource repositories
- Identify hooks and opportunities to promote RCUK’s work and increase digital engagement.
Email Marketing
- Project manage the delivery of email marketing communications in line with the organisation’s aims and objectives to engage our core audience with RCUK’s work.
- Support on the delivery of our annual BAU email communications calendar.
- Evaluate the impact of RCUK emails activity, through regular analysis of emails sent, and use this insight to get a better understanding of how audiences are engaging with our email content and to continually improve email communications

- Support the development of a new email strategy to support business growth (e.g. e-Lifesaver prospects through sales journey) and audience segmentation.
Social media
- Create, curate and share high quality social media content using a range of different and innovative formats.
- Monitor RCUK’s social media portfolio and identify opportunities for RCUK expansion onto other social media platforms in line with organisational objectives and where the audiences we are trying to reach are.
- Respond to comments across our social media channels and build support within our online community through engaging in conversations. Answer queries (liaising with other teams as required) and escalate any reputational issues to the Digital Media and Marketing Manager.
- Identify opportunities and content for paid campaigns.
- Work with the Digital Media and Marketing Manager to evaluate the impact of organic and paid social media activity through monthly reporting and analysis of larger initiatives and campaigns.
Other
- Champion RCUK brand and style guidelines to ensure RCUK communications are consistent across all comms channels.
- Use Canva/Adobe suite to design BAU social media graphics and toolkits for campaigns.
- Ensure our content is accessible and reflects the diverse resuscitation community and society as a whole.
- Represent and promote the organisation and its products at internal and external events that RCUK is exhibiting at.
- Manage the Communications inbox on a rota basis with the Media and Campaigns Officer & Policy and Public Affairs Officer.
- There is an occasional need for weekend/evening working and time off in lieu is granted in line with our time off in lieu policy.

One of the core ways that we do this is through our DVA Car™ service and Helpline service.
Our DVA Cars™ provide a service whereby every Friday and Saturday night, the project worker works alongside a police officer, attending reports of domestic abuse offering support to victims.
Our Helpline operates Out of Hours giving victims somewhere to call when other services are closed. The aim is to offer independent support and advice to victims and survivors during that window of opportunity: the moment they make the choice to reach out for help.
The candidate will be passionate about supporting survivors of domestic violence and abuse and wants to play a pivotal role in helping victims at the point of crisis. You will be working as part of a collaborative and passionate team, all dedicated to helping women feel seen, heard, and understood.
Whilst experience and knowledge of domestic abuse is a benefit it is not essential - it is more important to us that we find the right person who can truly support and guide our clients.
This role comprises of two parts.
Part one:
· To provide an out-of-hours, face-to-face crisis response to incidents of domestic violence working alongside officers from Hampshire Constabulary.
Friday or Saturday: 17.00hrs – 03.00hrs
Part two:
1. To work office or home-based completing follow-on referral work from the above and support with the day to day running of the office.
Monday – 5hrs (between the hours of 8am -5pm)
One other weekday – 4hrs (between the hours of 8am -5pm)
