We champion the role and contribution of the voluntary sector. Through our research projects, we build an understanding of what it takes to deliver for communities and causes across the UK. As Deputy Director of Research, you will be expected to work closely with the Director of Research to support quality assurance, the development of research practice, the maintenance of ethical standards, and the continuous improvement of writing and research communications. It is essential that you have experience of the voluntary sector and working with funders, and you will have a strong understanding and experience of qualitative research. You will have a proven track record in line management and be confident to lead a portfolio of varied projects. As a strong communicator you will be required to facilitate complex discussions and focus groups, build partnerships and have a track record of winning new work. You will also have excellent written skills with the ability of writing in an accessible and engaging manner for different audiences throughout all stages of the research process.

The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join us in the brand new role of Governance and Executive Officer.
You will provide proactive and efficient secretariat and administrative support to the Executive and Non-Executive Teams, working closely with the Leadership Team to support the fulfilment of their day-to-day tasks and strategic objectives.
The role includes supporting and organising meetings and reports, and minuting of executive meetings. In addition to general PA and administrative duties, you will provide a cohesive secretariat function to support the smooth and efficient operation of the Mind THNR Board and its sub-committees.
You will work closely with the Leadership Team to set agendas, monitor action logs, and provide a high level of support to the Board. You will share collective responsibility for supporting the delivery of business objectives, through active engagement and collaboration with colleagues at all levels in the organisation
This role is flexible in terms of days and hours, although you need to attend Board meetings in person, once a quarter in the evening and committee meetings, which are also in the evening, but on line, so three evening meetings a quarter. We are based in a beautiful office in Tower Hamlets, with lots of outside space and a café, so ideally you would be present in the office two or three days a week ( if full time).

The Impact and Evaluation Senior Officer will play a key role in supporting the Emmaus federation to understand and demonstrates the impact of our work.
The ideal candidate will have strong theoretical and practical evaluation skills coupled with the people skills to make this work accessible to a range of stakeholders.
They will need to be comfortable working as part of a remote team and able to travel to Emmaus communities across the UK to work with staff and companions.

As our Senior Marketing Officer (Supporter Activation) you will project lead our highly successful water bill insert campaign (managed in close collaboration with the Water Industry Partnership Team). Overseeing the delivery of these campaigns from briefing through to post-campaign analysis, as well as the development of new ideas to maximise the opportunities offered by this relationship.
You’ll support the Marketing Manager and wider team in the day-to-day development, management and delivery of a number of fundraising campaigns. In particular our successful DRTV programme, managing the relationship with our telemarketing agency and support in planning and delivery of new creative.
You’ll also:
- Managing our response handling agency to ensure effective conversion of response for our DRTV campaigns through regular monitoring and testing; providing training and development and analysing results regularly.
- Manage agency relationships; overseeing the management and development of any campaigns from briefing through to post-campaign analysis, collaborating with external partners, taking responsibility for resolving queries, trafficking all stages of the project and escalation of potential problems.
- Help develop and manage expenditure and income budgets. Help create the budget, to monitor monthly management accounts and key performance indicators and to undertake reforecasts as required.
- Regularly monitor, evaluate and analyse campaigns, providing regular results and recommendations for strategy development based on reviews and analysis.
- Liaise with team leaders and project managers in other departments to identify and implement new cross-working opportunities utilising specialist knowledge and experience in direct marketing.
- Remain up-to-date about developments in the external market-place and assess the suitability of new, innovative approaches for recruiting supporters to remain competitive.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that all supporter communications are consistent with the WaterAid brand, working closely with the International, Policy and Campaigns, and Communications teams.
About You:
- Successful track record of working in a direct marketing role, including proven experience of planning and executing campaigns across different channels, including digital.
- Experience of managing telemarketing, call handling and large-scale print campaigns
- Experience of managing creative development, including writing creative briefs, working with creative agencies, ensuring the correct sign off procedures are followed, and appropriate stakeholders consulted.
- Project management experience including identifying opportunities and managing through to implementation.
- Ability to work flexibly and independently, to manage varying competing priorities and meet strict deadlines with often changing priorities.
- The ability to work as part of a team and collaboratively with a diverse group to deliver cross-organisational projects or objectives.
- Excellent numeracy skills with attention to detail and experience in monitoring, evaluating and analysing campaigns.

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:
- Experience of working in the voluntary / fundraising sector.
- Experience of delivering supporter direct mail and communication programmes.

Black Thrive Global evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership, which was established in 2016 to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black people in Lambeth. Black people’s cumulative exposure to negative experiences and poor outcomes are not unique to Lambeth therefore Black Thrive Global was founded in 2020 to address the detrimental outcomes for Black people of African and Caribbean descent wherever they may be located.
Our work covers all life stages – children and young people, working age adults and older adults. Our guiding principle is to center the lived experiences of Black communities in all that we do. Purpose of the role
We are looking for a creative, organised, and disciplined person to take on a key role within our rapidly expanding organisation. As the Communications and Digital Officer, you will be central in the implementation of Black Thrive Global’s communications strategy. You will be supporting our Communications Manager in the delivery of all aspects of communications and marketing activity with both key stakeholders and the public.
You will help to support the creation of a compelling and consistent narrative about the work that Black Thrive Global does across all our communication channels. You will be integral in helping to disseminate key messaging for core projects and work-streams working closely with our internal teams and external partners. Black Thrive Global’s communication approach aims to be both reactive and proactive, and you will be expected to be well informed about events and trends in the media and public arena.
Duties and responsibilities
- Produce compelling and engaging content for internal and external blog posts, newsletters, and digital content across our communication channels.
- Produce in-house design for publications and promotional materials and social media assets as required.
- Lead on delivery and scheduling of the Communications Calendar, this will include horizon scanning of the news agenda as well as regular yearly campaigns i.e., Disability Week, Refugee Month, International Day of the Girl, LGBTQIA+ etc.
- Deliver and implement our social media strategy across our various platforms.
- Lead on managing and developing social media channels to engage and grow our online audience.
- Maintain and update our website and digital content.
- Support the Communications Manager and internal teams with producing reactive media and digital outputs.
- Support with PR and media relations tasks, including monitoring coverage, building up journalist databases and drafting statements and releases.
- Support internal teams with event coordination and marketing campaigning.
- Collecting and analysing data and information of communications activity to assess our impact and opportunities for brand growth.
- Support the Communications Manager with the quarterly Directors’ Communications Report.

The Head of Finance will lead the finance team, ensuring robust financial management and sustainability to support our charitable objectives. The role:
- Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organisation’s visions e.g. treasury management, developing long term cashflow strategies to maximise returns to the organisation.

The Senior Programme Development Specialist will work on complex and major bids, often on multimillion consortia, commercial contracts and multi-country partnerships, and will be expected to take a high degree of responsibility for developing successful bids including negotiations with internal and external partners.
