VCSE Strategic Lead (Living Well and Wider Wellbeing)

The VCSE Strategic Lead for Living Well and Wider Wellbeing is an exciting new role that will be focused on ensuring that the VCSE sector has voice and influence so that Salford people are supported to live well, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing.
The role will be aligned with Salford’s Living Well programme and the city’s Mental Health Collaborative. These are the cornerstones of the design and development of innovative solutions to adult mental health provision in the City. As well as the alignment with Living Well, the lead will also focus on creative health, placed-based working, and physical activity.
The Strategic Lead will work across a broad spectrum of VCSE and public sector partners that design, commission, or deliver activities and services that support the Mental Health and Wellbeing of Salfordians. This spectrum includes NHS Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust, Salford City Council, START, Mind in Salford, Salford Community Leisure, Salford Sport, and Physical Activity Alliance.
The Strategic Lead will play a key role in ensuring that there is collaborative working and effective communication within Living Well. This also includes key stakeholders, strategic partners in Salford, Local Authority, VCSE, and NHS organisations.
Living Well
Living Well is an innovative new service created and delivered by a partnership between START, Mind (Salford), Six Degrees, and Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust. A multi-agency team, collaborating to provide positive, humanistic, and safe experiences for those experiencing poor mental health who are unable to meet the threshold for community mental health services.
This post requires an enhanced level DBS check.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate extensive experience of building multi-sectoral partnerships and relationships, as well as having outstanding communication skills. They will also have a clear understanding of the VCSE sector, preferably in Salford, and mental health and wellbeing context across Greater Manchester.

Main responsibilities
- Manage course and webinar registration processes, including delegate bookings, communications, data management and reporting, and producing delegate materials.
- Manage course logistics including venue sourcing and management, accommodation and travel, catering and AV.
- Manage the rheumatology training webinar series, including topic development, speaker management and live delivery.
- Manage the creation of monthly eLearning packages including webinars, podcasts and eLearning cases.
- Manage the education bursary programme, including promotion, application management and financial reconciliation.
- Manage CPD accreditation of educational activities.
- Manage events inbox and education team enquiries.
- Input into our education budgets by monitoring progress against income and expenditure for projects owned.
- Produce content for webpages and social media platforms to drive interest and engagement and keep delegates informed.
- Attend committee meetings, provide updates if needed and assist with the minute-taking, agenda preparation and follow-up on actions as necessary.

Exciting Job opportunity: we are looking for a Practice Lead!
The National House Project (NHP) takes a ground-breaking approach through its commitment to young people’s ownership to enable young people leaving care to lead connected and fulfilling lives. The approach was co-designed with young people from the start and works on cooperative and social pedagogical principles through a groupwork approach which is supported by adults and young people in and leaving care working together. Using a psychologically informed relational practice framework young people gain skills, knowledge and the confidence to make their house a home and build a long-term community of support.
NHP supports Local House Projects (LHP) to put young people at the centre of the decision-making processes, challenges staff to work with them in an inclusive way and encourages staff to support young people to find the solutions to the challenges they face. LHP achieve improved outcomes for young people, supports professionals in the ways that they work with young people and enable young people to leave care in a supported and ‘less scary’ way.
To ensure that young people are involved at every level of the organisation, each LHP is represented by 2 young people at regional meetings and from these forums, young people elect their representatives for Care Leavers National Movement. CLNM provides a forum to develop practice, share ideas and find solutions to challenges. The Chair and Vice Chair of CLNM are supported by CLNM Champions and sit on the Board of Trustees as expert advisors.
To support the expansion of the Charity we have increased our strategic capacity by creating the post of Deputy Director and are now recruiting to the practice lead roles. We are looking for someone who is motivated, believes that with the right support care experienced young people can achieve great things and should be at the heart of any decision that affects their future. You will support staff in LHPs to create an environment where young people transition to adulthood in a positive and supported way and hence an understanding of child development, social pedagogical approaches and psychologically informed care are important. You will also work with the CLNM as well as the core NHP team to ensure that young people continue to drive the approach at both a local and national level.
You will need to have management or supervisory experience of staff working with young people in groupwork settings and an understanding of the care system. You will have a professional/academic qualification in a related field e.g., Youth Work; Social Work; Education, Health, social pedagogy. Current registration with a professional body is desirable.
You will be based at the NHP office in Crewe, but you will be expected to travel to LHPs and attend meetings across the country on a regular basis.

New regulation created by the Online Safety Act is set to significantly increase companies’ duties to keep users safe, especially children. At the same time, the online issues which families are contending with continue to evolve at pace: from mis- and dis-information in the age of generative AI, to increasing volumes of misogynistic online abuse, and data and privacy risks to name just a few.
There is cross-party consensus on the importance of tackling these issues, and a real appetite for practical, evidence-led solutions.
Against this backdrop, and ahead of a new government, Internet Matters is recruiting a Policy Manager to help ensure that our voice is heard in these conversations, advocating for the interests of children and families to be put first. This wide-ranging role will include:

About you
The successful candidate will have professional experience of working in policy, public affairs, or a closely related field. Knowledge of online safety/tech policy would be beneficial, but is not a requirement.
You may have worked for another charity/not-for-profit, a trade association, in government or in Parliament. You are excited by the opportunities of working in a small organisation, where everyone lends a hand to deliver key priorities, and where you can contribute very actively to our wider thinking and strategy.
Sometimes your work may focus on one or two of the key responsibilities listed above more than the others, in line with organisational need and external developments. We are therefore looking for someone who is comfortable with embracing all aspects of the job, with support, even though you may well have a preference for (or greater experience in) certain aspects of it. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have experience of public affairs and influencing work, given that external outreach is likely to be a significant focus for us in the year ahead, but please do still apply if your experience lies more elsewhere (e.g. writing reports).

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Programme Associate to provide programmatic support to a portfolio of Internews’ projects in the Europe & Eurasia (E&E) region. The role will be part of the Internews’ headquarters E&E Project Management
Unit (PMU) and report to the London-based Senior Programme Officer. The role will support the project teams in the E&E region as they conduct their project activities and help ensure.
Effective programme implementation, particularly related to project reporting, work planning, and monitoring, evaluation, research and learning (MERL). The role will contribute to development opportunities that support E&E media and journalists to safely provide good quality information. The role may also be asked to represent Internews at partner and donor meetings. The role will also contribute to Internews’ knowledge management and improvement of Internews systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the project teams across all programmatic and operational aspects of European-funded grant programmes to implement high-quality projects on time and budget, and to the highest technical standards, and in a way that positions projects within a broader regional or thematic portfolio and contributes to organisational impact.
- Assist PMU management with project oversight and progress towards programme deliverables.
- Support project start-up, implementation, and closeout.
- Support with hiring key project personnel.
- Serve as an HQ point of contact for programmatic inquiries for assigned projects within the organisation and externally.
- Guide the project teams on rules and requirements of European donors and Internews’ internal policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the E&E Business team on business aspects of project delivery, including budget management and financial tracking.
- Review and revise donor narrative reports and workplans and ensure their high quality.
- Review and provide feedback on relevant programmatic and monitoring aspects, including MERL reporting, external project evaluation, and other research and studies;
- Support internal and external communication for projects, identifying newsworthy, impactful stories and preparing content or briefings which tell those stories; undertake external representation and policy engagement where necessary.
- As assigned, support the design and development of concept notes and proposals for European donors.
- Support meetings, webinars, and other events across time zones with international partners and fellow colleagues, including coordinating agendas and travel logistics.
- Attend relevant events (panels, presentations, etc.) upon request, and share notes with the team.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of experience of project support and donor reporting for large projects with major institutional donors, including the European Commission and SIDA.
- University degree in a related field.
- Fluency in English with excellent English-language writing and proven text-editing skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills and relevant experience.
- Strong time management and organisational skills; ability to effectively manage a dynamic workload and shifting priorities.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, tact, and the ability to negotiate.
- Strong teamwork experience and proven track record of a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Proven ability to operate in a multicultural and remote work environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
