Our mission is to help people manage their money effectively, and our independent, confidential and flexible approach is tailored to individuals’ needs, allowing us to reach those who find it most difficult to access advice. You will be joining a large team of Money Advisers providing specialist level debt and benefit advice and casework. 

We have 2 posts available - 1 based in our Brighton and Hove office, and the second either based in our office, but fully remote working possible.  For both posts you will have lots of variety, providing telephone specialist debt and benefit advice and casework across a range of projects.  If you are based in our office you will also deliver face-to-face advice both in the office and other outreach locations including Foodbanks and with inpatients.

Ideally you will hold a qualification in Money Advice, obtained either through the Institute of Money Advisers or the Money and Pensions Service.  If you do not have a qualification, you must be prepared to work towards obtaining this, included some study in your own time. You will have excellent communication and digital skills, be comfortable delivering advice in person and by phone, and be able to plan and organise your work effectively.

Desirable knowledge/expertise

• Working or volunteering in a charity or community organisation

An opportunity has arisen for you to join Fauna & Flora’s Eurasia Marine team to provide expert technical support to the Eurasia Marine Programme. This is a role based in our UK Headquarters providing technical input and support to our regional programmes and partners, with a focus on supporting marine protected area projects.

You will hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification and/or equivalent professional experience in marine ecology and conservation. Experience in marine protected area development, monitoring and management will be an advantage. You will be experienced in initiating, coordinating and supporting complex marine species and habitat research and monitoring, with proven experience of project design, data management and analysis for impact monitoring and evaluation.

You will have an excellent understanding and knowledge of marine and coastal conservation alongside a determination to tackle the issues facing the world’s marine species and habitats. You will have significant experience of working within challenging environments in low and middle income countries to deliver positive change, and will understand the need for inclusive, collaborative and evidence-based approaches to marine conservation.

A team player also able to work on your own initiative, you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise across teams and cultures. You will enjoy applying your critical thinking to complex issues and explaining these in plain and accessible language. In addition to essential fluency in written and spoken English, skills in relevant languages, particularly Portuguese, are also desirable. You will have strong verbal and written communication abilities, including scientific writing skills, and experience in communicating conservation science to a range of audiences.

The ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines will be a key attribute. You will have excellent training and coaching skills, ideally with experience in developing and applying blended learning materials and methods. You will be passionate about supporting others to develop their knowledge and skills while being open to learning and able to quickly pick up new skills.

What You’ll Do

• Trusts & grants: Work with the Development & Communications Manager to write and submit compelling funding applications to trusts, foundations and grant-making bodies to secure new and repeat funding.

• Scout for, build and maintain relationships with existing and new funders, donors, and partners, ensuring ongoing engagement and support.

• Events: Plan, organise and manage fundraising events, including overseeing event logistics, participant engagement and post-event follow up.

Context and purpose of role

Ramblers walk leadership programme increases the skills and confidence of people from diverse backgrounds to lead walks, enabling more people to benefit from group walks. As a member of the Programmes team, the Programme Lead (Walk Leadership) will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of the programme across GB.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on the design, development and operational delivery of the Walk Leadership programme across GB.
• Create operational delivery plans – to identify milestones, monitor risks, resolve issues and manage resource requirements.
• Design and develop resources and processes to support programme implementation.

This service is aligned to smoking cessation principles as outlined by the National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSNT).

Role Overview

Around 75% of your time will be devoted to securing funding from trusts and foundations. This includes researching, identifying new opportunities and crafting compelling, tailored funding applications. About you

This is a great role for someone with previous experience of both Trust Fundraising and Major Donor Fundraising. You’ll have excellent communication skills to enable you to quickly build solid, strong relationships both face to face and over the telephone. Excellent writing skills are essential as well as good organisational skills and CRM experience. In these challenging times you’ll need to channel your creative skills to develop exciting stewardship plans.

In this role you will need:

• Previous evidenced experience of securing donations from Trusts and Foundations, and Major Giving Fundraising experience
• Experience of producing outstanding, high quality, imaginative and compelling applications and reports

In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home,  although there will be occasions when you will need to attend face-to-face meetings with, donors, your team, our partner agencies, or several team away-days each year. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Join our passionate and driven Fundraising Team at Challengers and play a key role in securing vital funding to support our impactful projects for disabled children and young people.

We are looking for a proactive and skilled fundraiser to research and identify new funding opportunities from Trusts, Foundations, and grant-making bodies. You’ll craft and submit compelling funding proposals, while building and nurturing strong relationships with new and existing funders to maximise support for our mission.

This role offers the chance to represent Challengers at meetings, tours, and events, showcasing the power of our work and the importance of our values. You’ll also maintain detailed and accurate records, manage reporting requirements, and actively champion the Challengers Approach, grounded in the Social Model of Disability.

You’ll Be Great If...

• Have a solid understanding of the role of grant-makers, the value of not-for-profits, and the challenges faced by disabled children and young people.

• Are confident presenting and representing an organisation in line with its values and ethos.

• Have experience using databases and Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
