Our Chief Executive's Office is looking for a highly organised individual with the confidence and credibility to work with Senior Stakeholders across our Executive Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and the Royal Household to become our new Head of the Chief Executive's Office.  

The key aspects of this role include:

• Providing operational day to day leadership and management of the CEO office
• Laision with the Royal Householder on all matters relating to The Prince’s Trust, our Founder and management of all Royal engagements
• Producing briefing documents and reports for the CEO, Leadership and Trustee Board meetings.

Horsham Matters - Overview

 Horsham Matters is a local Christian charity that works to prevent and relieve poverty throughout our district.  We do this by the provision of essential services such as food, fuel and household goods, providing advice and guidance to households in need, and working with partners to address the root causes of poverty. Our work is funded by income generated through donated goods which can be sold in our shop or online, by grants and donations and through public fundraising.

 Operations Manager

The Operations Manager is a critical role to ensure the smooth running of all our operations.  Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team with responsibility for leading a team of staff, volunteers and 3rd party contractors.  You will strive to continually improve systems and procedures across the Charity whilst maximising opportunities to increase income.

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week), which will also require some weekend working (approx. 8 Saturdays/year).

Core Responsibilities:

Operational leadership:

· Line management of Logistics Team including performance management, building capability and training etc.

· Ensure smooth communication and excellent links across Charity buildings

· Ensure the optimal use of the vans for delivery, collections etc., including the planning of routes which are cost effective and time efficient

· Work with the Office Manager team to ensure that the needs of clients requiring household items are met by the Logistics team

· Work with the Store Manager to ensure that the Charity store is stocked appropriately, including arrangements for stock rotation

· Support volunteers to develop their role in the warehouse, providing clear instructions and setting expectations

· Liaise with third party contractors including removals firm, IT contractor and others as required

 Safe environment

· Responsible for maintaining a safe environment at our Community Support Centre and other Charitable Activity venues; completing health and safety tasks

· Responsibility for all Horsham Matters buildings, ensuring effective maintenance and building related health and safety

· Ensure vehicles are safe and road worthy, ensuring essential maintenance takes place

· Fully participate and demonstrate best practice including the physical aspects of moving equipment and furniture, as well as driving the van and all other tasks across the logistics sector of the charity

· Ensure that items not suitable for sale are disposed of appropriately and in a timely manner to prevent health and safety issues arising

· Develop and continually review reuse and recycling ensuring that the Charity optimises reuse, as well as maximising revenue

Online sales

· Lead for on-line sales and all other sales avenues excluding our Charity shop (Love it Again) – including ensuring that items are collected, advertised sold and delivered appropriately and maximising gift aid opportunities with donors

· Provide excellent customer service to all members of the public

About us

 Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.

This role will work with people experiencing homelessness to share their stories, ensuring their voices are front and centre in our communications.

Contract: Four-month fixed term contract - ideal start date Friday 30 September 2024

Location: London office based with working from home in line with Crisis’ hybrid working. This role will require occasional evening, public holiday, and weekend work, particularly over the Christmas period. This is likely to include 26-27-28-29 December. About the role

As Christmas Stories Officer, you will work closely with Crisis at Christmas guests and Crisis members with lived experience of homelessness to share their stories.

As part of the Stories team, you will visit Crisis at Christmas services and build relationships with guests, provide them with the information they need to make an informed decision about sharing their stories and support them through the process. You will work with them to create packages of creative story content that may include photos, video, or written content.  

You will support the Stories team in Christmas planning and delivering the storytelling during Crisis at Christmas. You will lead on editing, reviewing, and signing off content with Christmas guests in a safe and ethical way.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be a creative storyteller who is able to collaborate and build relationships with a wide variety of people.

You’ll be a great writer and editor who loves to tell interesting stories. You may have experience interviewing people, and you’ll enjoy building relationships and rapport with others. You may have experience in photography too.

You will be passionate about supporting people to get their voice heard, and about ending homelessness. Your knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and your attention to detail will ensure processes are followed to share stories safely and ethically.

You’ll be able to manage your work independently and work as part of a team, and you might have some project management experience.  

You may have experience in, journalism, stories roles, PR and media, marketing, campaigning, oral history, co-production, photography, videography, content production.

Working in close collaboration with BHF’s high-value income teams (Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy), you’ll lead the development and implementation of our partnership and high-value marketing strategies, contributing to our fundraising and mission objectives.

You'll lead a small team and be responsible for the development and delivery of go-to-market initiatives, overseeing the execution of key campaigns with strategic partners and high-value donors, creating marketing collateral, and managing marketing activities in tandem with our supporters.

You’ll cultivate deep relationships with our strategic partners’ marketing teams and collaborate with them to design and deliver initiatives that propel our partnership goals.

Working arrangements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

About you

As our ideal candidate you will have CIM/IDM or similar qualification, you have demonstrable end-to-end experience in developing integrated, multi-channel campaigns, including B2B and B2C. You'll have experience in setting objectives, tracking, and evaluating results and managing budgets.

The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two sister sites at London and Midlands. Purpose of the Assistant Designer role:

The Assistant Designer will support the Exhibitions and Interpretation department to develop and deliver graphic design across the Museum, working closely with the Designer. They will design both permanent and temporary exhibition graphics, as well as designing wayfinding signage for the Museum sites and supporting wider Museum departments with design requests, such as events marketing materials.

The Assistant Designer will support the delivery of the Museum’s Midlands Development Programme, developing and delivering graphic design for exhibition updates and wayfinding graphics, as well as supporting co-creation activities with local communities.

Key responsibilities of our Assistant Designer include:

• Designing and managing production of exhibition graphics, wayfinding and signage at both Museum sites, including permanent and temporary exhibitions 3
• Supporting Museum departments with graphic design production as required, working closely with the Communications and Marketing, Retail, Learning and Engagement, Visitor Experience and Development teams
• Responding to graphic design helpdesk requests in a timely manner
• Ensuring signage at both public sites is up to date, liaising with the Visitor Experience teams
• Upholding the Museum Style Guide in all graphic design • To ensure that graphic design is accessible for all visitors
• Ensuring all projects are delivered within agreed budgets to defined deadlines to the highest quality standards of display and interpretation
• Testing new ideas and ways of engaging wider audiences with Museum stories and collections through innovative graphic design

What we are looking for in our Assistant Designer:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in graphic design

WECare’s Head of Fundraising is responsible for supporting the Fundraising team in their efforts to raise funds. We have lots of exciting projects and expansion in the pipeline. WECare Worldwide is a UK and Sri Lankan registered charity set up by veterinary surgeon Janey Lowes. Our mission is to provide international standard veterinary care for less fortunate animals around the world, starting in Sri Lanka. We aim to change the outlook for street dogs worldwide, with 75% of the globe’s dog population going without access to healthcare. Key responsibilities:

1. Fundraising Strategy Development:

• Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to achieve organisational fundraising goals.

• Design and establish fundraising structures, policies, and processes to streamline fundraising efforts and ensure compliance with regulations.

2. Donor Engagement and Relationship Management:

• Optimise the new supporter journey and create promotional materials in line with current brand guidelines.

• Secure support from UK/ Sri Lankan  businesses and establish official partnerships where possible.

4. Fundraising Management:

• Manage fundraising events, including securing sponsorship and maintaining strong relationships with venues and their staff.

• Support WECare fundraisers with all needs associated with their efforts.

• Develop grant applications and supporting documentation.

• Manage the production of fundraising materials and advertisements.

• Oversee the development of merchandise ranges and play a key role in the sales process.

About the role 

This is the perfect role for a press officer with great news judgement, who is proactive about hunting out media opportunities, and tenacious about seeing ideas through until coverage appears.

You’ll be comfortable pitching to a range of producers, journalists and editors, will have a sense of what makes a good broadcast spokesperson, and be confident helping colleagues to prepare for media opportunities. International development experience is not essential, but you’ll be able to show a strong interest in our work and be passionate about helping deliver our mission.

Reporting directly to the Director, you will lead our experienced team advocacy team, help develop our strategic objectives and shape our emerging Senior Management Team.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. Develop the advocacy team’s expertise in all of the ways our evidence can be used to effect change, including policy work both with the Home Office and NHS England who commission healthcare in immigration detention, parliamentary work, media work, and to contribute to strategic litigation, and how and when they interrelate.
2. Understand and keep updated on what is happening with immigration detention policy, including matters that influence it, such as the literature on health issues of detainees, key legal judgements, inquests, reports by official monitors and parliamentary committees, responses to parliamentary questions, parliamentary debates, research produced by other organisations, and information that you glean from FOI requests.
3. Keep abreast of the wider political context that may influence immigration and detention policy.
4. Represent Medical Justice at external meetings and events.
   - Participate in Home Office, NHS England and monitoring bodies’ stakeholder forums.
   - Participate in formal and informal ad-hoc NGO groupings.
5. Work both reactively and pro-actively, identify opportunities for securing change and prioritise work according to its strategic importance as well as ‘return on investment’.
6. Work with the Director and the Head of Casework to ensure ;
7. Further develop Medical Justice’s Strategy and ensure that strategic objectives across the organisation are impactful, current and coherent.
   - Developments that affect detention policy are shared within Medical Justice.
   - Issues experienced in our casework are documented and used in our advocacy work.
   - Our material is robust so that we maintain credibility as an organisation which is vital for our advocacy work as well as for the use of our medico-legal reports in clients’ individual legal cases.
   - Develop the monitoring and evaluation framework for our advocacy work.
8. Facilitate the meaningful involvement of people with lived experience of detention Medical Justice advocacy work, including in its design and development.
9. Line-manage the Parliamentary & Research Analyst and the Researcher, including providing support in terms of personal development/training and well-being. There will also be line-managing responsibilities for some periods of an individual on the Casework Trainee programme for people with lived experience, once it is introduced.

Research / line-management of the Researcher

1. Consulting colleagues, other NGOs and lawyers to identify research projects that draw on medical evidence from our casework that would have the most impact, including carrying out research for strategic litigation and supporting such litigation.
2. Collaborate with other organisations as appropriate.
3. Lead the team in conducting research and provide periodic feedback of policy implications regarding the emerging findings to others within the organisation for consideration.
4. Lead the team in the producing analysis of research and audits of our MLRs, writing up into required formats, including research reports, text for inclusion in policy work, submissions, witness statements, briefing papers for parliamentarians, and media articles. 
5. Together with colleagues, offer suitable material for peer review publication and contribute where appropriate to research carried out by medical professional bodies and others.
6. Contribute to the further development of the Medical Justice datasystem and its functionality.

Policy work

1. Carry out policy work with the Home Office, NHS England and their contractors – this may include responding to consultations, and challenging issues proactively.
2. Build relationships with the Home Office, NHS England, and monitoring bodies – make sure Medical Justice is included in all relevant consultations and alert others if they have been missed out.
3. Collaborate as much as is sensible with other organisations to get the best outcomes for people in detention.

Parliamentary work / line-management of the Parliamentary & Research Analyst

1. Oversee our work as the secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Immigration Detention, raising awareness of immigration detention amongst parliamentarians and priming them to take action. Work to ensure the APPG brings together parliamentarians with experts, NGOs, lawyers and people with lived experience to amplify our collective impact.
2. Oversee the briefing of parliamentarians for challenging unjust policies, asking parliamentary questions, holding parliamentary debates, opposing parliamentary approval of harmful policy amendments, and assisting parliamentarians in tabling amendments to relevant Bills.
3. Oversee submissions parliamentary committees to inquires they hold as well as the briefing of committee members and clerks.

 Galvanise Medical professional organisations

1. Work with Royal Colleges, the British Medical Association and others to galvanise their communities, encouraging helpful evidence from them, and organising events with them.

Media

1. Work both with the Director and on your own to create mainstream and social media opportunities to promote the work of Medical Justice and the needed content.

General

• Provide reports for staff and/or trustees as requested.
• Respect and comply in full with Medical Justice patients’ confidentiality requirements and contribute to developing our own policy in this area.
• To work flexibly as a member of a team and the organisation and undertake other reasonable duties and responsibilities at the request of the Director.

We’re hiring a Communications Assistant to play a critical role in LICC’s skilled and enthusiastic Communications Team, helping it deliver its day-to-day responsibilities and contributing to the growth and impact of LICC’s mission.

The successful candidate will get stuck in with a wide range of tasks including web and email design and build, social media content generation and management, podcast management, press office activity, and more.

The Communications Team exists to ensure LICC’s vision and offering are clearly communicated both to those who already follow us and to new strategic audiences. As Communications Assistant, you’ll help thousands of Christians discover how God is working through them in their everyday lives – and play a key role in connecting them to resources and training that will equip them to make a difference with Jesus right where they are.

This is a part-time (two days per week), fixed-term, maternity cover role, running from September 2024 to August 2025. It can be fulfilled remotely, though the post-holder may choose to work in LICC’s central London office if they wish. If the post-holder is working remotely, they will be required to attend the office at least one Tuesday per month. The role’s hours can be distributed flexibly across the week; however, due to the schedule of work required, the post-holder must be able to work on Thursday afternoons.
