The role

Starting between £55,000 to £60,000 per annum depending on experience

Hours: 35hrs per week

About you

You will be a senior HR practitioner, qualified to CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience), and have a proven track-record at leading a high-performing HR team. You’ll have plenty of experience in delivering strategic HR initiatives,  excellent knowledge of employment law, an ability to communicate at all levels, and flex your approach according to the situation. We are looking for someone who has had experience of advising and delivering on organisational-wide HR change management initiatives, can work effectively to project deadlines, and will successfully balance the needs of employees with the operational and ambitious needs of the charity.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail.

We have a hybrid approach to the way we work. Our Senior Executive Team meet with our Senior Leadership Team twice a month on a Monday. These meetings are face to face. One is in central London and one is at our Hatfield office. In addition, you will be required to attend at least four face to face organisational All Staff Together days which are predominantly in Hatfield, one directorate meeting a month in Hatfield, as well as attending the Hatfield office with the rest of the HR team one day a week. One to one’s will be face to face with direct line reports and your line manager once a quarter.

Animal Equality is an international animal protection organisation working with society, governments and companies to end cruelty to farmed animals. Animal Equality has offices in the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil and India.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Remote working, in the UK (with travel to London once a month).

The Philanthropy Specialist plays a major role in meeting the organisation’s ambitious fundraising goals. Responsible for major giving and grants portfolios, the Philanthropy Specialist identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards financial support from generous individuals and granting bodies.

With a proven track record the successful candidate will network with key stakeholders, present compelling communications and generate significant funds. In turn, these funds will enable Animal Equality to achieve its ambitious financial targets and carry out its crucial campaigns to meaningfully transform and save the lives of farmed animals.

Overview of the International Chief Support Officer

The International Chief Support Officer will assume responsibility for all central operational functions across the organisation, namely HR, Finance, Facilities, Technology and Data. 

This position will ensure that the organisation’s distinct Christian identity, operational excellence and resource efficiency, is maintained globally.  

Lia's Wings are looking to appoint a Fundraising Manager into a brand new role, at an incredibly exciting time for the charity. As the only aeroplane ambulance charity for children in the UK, we are experiencing a period of phenomenal growth, with incredible opportunities and potential for fundraising. 

Being responsible for the management and delivery of our challenge events, special events and community fundraising activities, this role will involve working with some of our most committed supporters on a series of engaging (and fun) events that are continuing to grow year on year. The Fundriasing Manager will also be expected to support our corporate partners, and engage with our Family Fundraising efforts, giving them the opportunity to meet, and work with our incredible beneficiaries first-hand. 

A hybrid role: this post will be mostly remote but will involve travelling to regular (fortnightly) team meetings in central London (Zone 1), or, our operating base at Biggin Hill Airport, and, to manage events across the UK throughout the year. 

The perfect candidate for this role will have experience of managing various types of fundraising events, but first and foremost, we are looking for a consummate fundraiser who is passionate about stewarding fundraisers. We are looking for a fundraiser who can think outside the box, solve problems, and support supporters, donors and fundraisers of all levels, to ensure we maximise every opportunity we receive. 

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, this role will be integral to the growth of Lia's Wings, and is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a role at a small charity, where their efforts will make a real difference.

Over the last year we have had more people than ever before hoping to fundraise for Lia’s Wings, which has given rise to some fantastic new events being created (led by the charity), alongside several wonderful community-led partnerships with schools and social clubs around the UK.

Every year we also have a great uptake in classic charity challenges taking place both in the UK, and overseas, including the London Landmarks and Royal Parks Half Marathon, and the Berlin and Chicago Marathons. We have also had great success delivering our own, bespoke charity challenges, which we hope will continue into the future. For 2025, we are due to complete the second instalment of an annual Lia’s Wings Overseas Cycle Challenge, a Shark dive, Skydive and three peaks challenges, amongst many others, which this role would be expected to lead on, and develop for years to come.

Corporate Partnerships are one of our key income streams, with employees from dozens of companies supporting our events efforts. As well as managing these events, there would be a certain level of devolved account management with these partners, with the post holder becoming the primary point of contact for those firms.

We also have a growing network of community groups – including schools and social groups – who want to support Lia’s Wings as a partner charity. It is an area we would love to expand, with this role being crucial to the ongoing development of these areas.

And finally: for the past two years we have we also hosted a seasonal thank you party each Christmas (our “Jingle and Mingle”) which we hope will be another fantastic opportunity that can be developed by the right person in this role, as a real jewel in the crown of our events portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• To manage our Challenge, Community, and Special Event fundraising streams, to achieve set targets.
• To grow income sustainably from our existing portfolio of events, ensuring continued high performance, engagement, and participation.
• To design, develop, and deliver new events that are suitable for our primary supporter audiences, alongside the Head of Fundraising.
• To effectively steward fundraisers to ensure an excellent supporter experience (resulting in positive fundraising performance, and repeat year on year participation), including appropriate thanking and recognition, reporting, and feedback on outcomes of events.
• To assume account management responsibility for smaller corporate and community partnerships (primarily engaged with the charity through events fundraising)
• To ensure a strong (in-person) team and volunteer presence at events.
• To support the Head of Fundraising on the delivery of our Corporate and Community Partnerships.
• To support our Family Support Team with the delivery of our Family Fundraising programme
• To build strong relationships with existing and potential stake holders, including event committees, and Trustees of the charity.
• To proactively manage event income and expenditure budgets, monitoring and reporting to the Head of Fundraising to support forecasting and budgeting processes, including monthly reconciliation.
• To manage all stock, consumables and promotional items related to these areas of fundraising.
• To maintain comprehensive recording-keeping relating to these areas of fundraising with existing tools including our CRM system, Salesforce.
• To attend fortnightly team meetings (in person) in London, and to attend other compulsory training days or events as required
• To support the Head of Engagement in preparing digital assets, including news pieces, photography, videography, and fundraiser case studies for our website and social media
• To ensure all practices meet statutory legislation requirements including the Data Protection Act, and Fundraising Code of Practice.
• To undertake any other duties appropriate to the post that by be required by the Head of Fundraising, including supporting the fundraising team with other in-person events throughout the year as they arise.

Are you a young Christian who is passionate about issues of justice and peace? Do you want to explore the intersection of faith, policy, and politics, and potentially pursue a career in one of these fields? The Joint Public Issues Team (JPIT) is recruiting to two full time paid internship positions: one focused on Communications (to start as soon as possible) and the other on supporting local churches to build relationships with their MPs (to start in September 2025).

You would be working as part of a small ecumenical team on a diverse range of tasks and initiatives including communications, policy, campaigning and supporter engagement, contributing to the public advocacy and political engagement work of the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches.

About JPIT 

JPIT is a partnership between the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church, and the Church of Scotland is an associate partner. Its purpose is to help the Churches to work together for peace and justice through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues. It is a team which brings together around ten staff working across the denominations. In recent years it has focused on issues around poverty, the economy, refugees and migration, the environment, peace and conflict, and politics.

The Internships

These internships provide opportunities to develop skills in campaigning, communications, research, and policy within a dynamic team environment. There will be opportunities for professional and personal learning and development to equip the intern for further employment after their time on the internship. Whilst we are looking for some evidence of certain skills and experience, candidates will have the opportunity to develop relevant skills during their time in the role.

These are full time paid roles with fixed-term contracts to the end of August 2026, and a salary of £25,513 per annum (we are committed to paying at least the London Living Wage).

About the Youth Endowment Fund 

We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.  

In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to reverse this trend. We will achieve this by finding out what works to prevent youth violence and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. Key Responsibilities 

Your focus will be to ensure that the office environment at YEF is a welcoming and inclusive one, being the first point of contact for new starters, employees and external stakeholders. Office Management 

Ensure the physical and virtual spaces in which we work at YEF are excellently managed and a welcoming place to work. This would include: 

• Being a strong and personable office lead. Be welcoming to colleagues new and old and make an ongoing effort to integrate them into the team. 

• Ensuring that the office space is well managed including well stocked office supplies and refreshments. 

• Leading monthly social team activities that foster a sense of belonging. 

• Ensuring we have the systems to make collaboration really easy, liaising directly with our IT supplier and pointing out areas of improvement or discussing how things can be done better. 

HR administration 

Help ensure that projects related to HR or supporting people are done brilliantly. This may require you getting stuck in with some administrative tasks or keeping track of who needs to do what by when. 

• Helping to organise the annual appraisal of staff (setting up and collecting in forms and making sure everyone knows what’s going on) so that everyone learns and develops. 

• Making sure the online system we use for employee records is up to date, well organised and that someone technical fixes things if needed.

• Ensuring that the policies we have (on things like pay, holidays, being in the office etc). are easy for staff to find and that someone is prompted to remind staff about them regularly. 

• Coming to know our staff policies inside out, so that staff can go to you to get a question answered. 

Help us recruit brilliant people by:

• Supporting the administration of the end-to-end recruitment process, such advertising jobs online, arranging interviews, managing candidate correspondences and the keeping up to date records. 

• Assisting in the first phase of CV reviews (spotting great people). 

• Organising and managing all new starter documentation, such as; right to work, references, issuing of an employee contract and DBS’s (where appropriate) 

• Ensuring new staff have the right equipment and IT on day one. Being the go-to person for their administrative questions. 

• Onboarding new team members on our office space and IT systems 

General administration 

Make sure some of most important meetings are incredibly effective. You’ll do this by 

• Organising those meetings (booking rooms, inviting people), taking great minutes, making sure we keep track of things we said we would do and saving the documents in the right place.

• Working really well with colleagues to organise documents and information for reports. 

• Supporting people, you work most closely with (the wider operations team) on some of the more important processes, including audits and document maintenance. 

Team Culture 

You will be passionate about supporting to maintain a strong values-led team culture and able to demonstrate what that means.

• Supporting our Culture Lead to prepare and deliver excellently planned and engaging quarterly team away days. This includes visiting event spaces, managing catering and providing excellent support on the day – including activities. 

• Organising onboarding schedules and ensuring smooth delivery of sessions. 

• Noticing when colleagues are less well connected to the team and working with the Culture Lead to support their integration.

About the role

We’re looking to recruit a Research Intern to join our Conversation Programmes team and help shape a positive and sustainable future for our planet. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world, and we could be the last that can do anything about it. This is your chance to join the fight for our world.

As Research Intern, you will help us build out a knowledge database of case studies with real life examples of where environmental crime converges with financial crime. This will involve being part a small team that is responsible for delivering, updating and developing a recently launched new tool that aims to support financial institutions to better manage and mitigate the risks of deforestation and land conversion, as well as other environmental crimes and the related predicate offences, which could be potentially tied to their operations. Your role will be to review, update, translate and categorise case studies that will be uploaded onto the Environmental Crimes Financial Toolkit platform. The toolkit already has a case study database, but we want to expand the scope and scale of the cases available. The case studies will be in both Spanish and English. It is also important to be able to review, understand and categorise these case studies depending on environmental crime type.

We’re looking for someone with:

Fluency in Spanish.

Conservation focused degree or masters.

Strong communication, interpersonal & project management skills.

The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from different internal functions and across departments and countries.

An understanding of environmental crimes is desirable.

An understanding of financial crimes is desirable.
