Emotional Health & Wellbeing Service Manager - Leeds TIME Permanent position but with a provisional end date for funding of 31st March 2027

Salary: £38,390.76 Per annum

Time for young people is our new emotional wellbeing support space for young people who live and study in Leeds. Time for young people empowers young people to take time for themselves.

Leeds TIME opening hours supports the needs of the communities in which we work, and therefore there are elements of unsociable hours - this may include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. These will always be agreed in advance and will be flexible as possible.

Do you want to support a team who work with children, young people with emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties?

The Post holder will lead Leeds Time ensuring to maintaining risk and ability to manage challenging situations. Working in partnership with CCG/ICS's, Children & Young People Mental Health services, Police, Children's Social care and other statutory/ non statutory service providers.

It is planned to offer drop in sessions where young people can drop in and meet trained staff one to one. Young people can come along and talk through what they are struggling with. The service holds no waiting lists and therefore the ability to build relationships quickly, identify risks, and process further support is vital.

Alongside our drop-in support, we will also offer young people more structured one-to-one sessions if appropriate.

The nature of the Emotional Health & Wellbeing services the ability to build relationships quickly, identify risks, and process further support is vital.

In order to be considered for this post you will have to demonstrate that you already have:

Work-based Knowledge

-Appreciation and awareness of issues facing hard-to-reach young people around access to early help and crisis support.

-A working knowledge of current mental health support agencies in the local area.

The Support Services Coordinator is crucial in helping with the administration and data management of the Support and Information team. Reporting into the Finance Business Support Manager, you will provide support to the 4 Finance Business Partners in delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting and planning for the Fund. Alongside this, you will provide support to colleagues to ensure there is cover across all processes in the Finance Team. The Fund pride themselves on developing individuals, this role allows for an Accountant or Finance Assistant who is part qualified and growing to be supported with the next step in their career. 

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

• Support the delivery of timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting
• Support the key monthly reporting deliverables ensuring grants, salary, operating cost and headcount transactions are posted and recorded accurately in the Management Accounts
• Undertaking financial system reconciliations 
• Support the quarterly forecasting and the annual budget reporting
• Support the statutory year end reporting
• Review and improve current processes and reporting
• Support the Finance Business Partners to drive efficiencies and contribute to the strategic direction of the Fund 

The ideal candidate should have experience working within a finance department and have an enquiring mind and demonstrate good attention to detail, along with strong analytical and communication skills. • Using a range of research tools, identify potential trusts and foundations that may support City Hospice and develop a pipeline of new and existing prospects.
• Match new and existing trusts and foundations to City Hospice projects and services and identify core funding opportunities.
• Work with the Head of Day Hospice and Wellbeing Services to identify appropriate projects and services for funding.
• Create compelling and tailored trust and foundations funding applications that motivate and inspire trusts and foundations to support City Hospice to realise its exciting ambitions.
• Create templates for generic proposals as appropriate to the funder.
• Implement an effective stewardship model that maintains and builds on relationships with existing Trusts & Foundations.
• Work with the relevant teams to collect information and ensure donors receive regular and timely progress reports including appropriate recognition of their support, taking into account any specific requirements by the funder.
• Develop positive relationships with Trust & Foundation representatives and monitor supporter feedback, sharing appropriately with the Trusts & Foundations Fundraising Manager.
• Brief relevant staff about funders before funder meetings as appropriate.

About the role:

We are looking for a Head of Finance to join us at a very exciting time for the Hospice. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will have responsibility for the smooth running of the finance function, supported by an experienced Finance Manager.

With a new Chief Executive and Chair of Trustees in 2024, we are looking at how we can reach our vision of bringing hospice care to more people by 2030. To do this we need to be as efficient and effective as we can and make sure that our managers and senior leaders have the financial information they need to inform decision-making and drive success.

In addition to this, as part of the drive for efficiency, we need to replace our ageing finance system and introduce new processes to streamline information flows by integrating with other key systems across the business. This new role will lead that project and ensure its successful implementation.

An exciting opportunity for a Health Partnerships Manager has arisen at World Cancer Research Fund. 

World Cancer Research Fund champions the latest and most authoritative scientific research from around the world on cancer prevention and survival through diet, weight and physical activity, so that we can empower people to make informed choices to reduce their cancer risk.

We are seeking a Health Partnerships Manager to play a key role delivering on our strategy to support health professionals, with responsibility for developing partnerships and marketing campaigns which progress this work and widen its reach. The role also line manages the Health Information Officer and supports the development and marketing of our cancer prevention information and support for the general public.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of clinical/public health stakeholder engagement at all levels and of developing successful partnerships with other organisations. An in-depth understanding of the UK health sector and the educational landscape for health professionals is essential.

Research Involvement Lead

We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Involvement Lead to work closely with a friendly and knowledgeable team who are passionate about stroke research. Reporting to the Head of Research, the Research Involvement Lead will be responsible for managing the involvement of people with lived experience of stroke in the research that we fund, ensuring that Stroke Association funded research has the people affected by stroke at its heart.

· Leading the Stroke Association’s involvement in research work.

· Ensuring meaningful involvement of people affected by stroke in our funding schemes.

The HQ finance team is based in the UK office at Southwick (near Hove) with a team of five and additional staff in key locations and several outsourced arrangement for local accounting and compliance.

 

Overall purpose:

To account for and report of the financial performance of GWEC as a whole, Belgium parent entities and other subsidiaries.

To support the UK, Belgium Secretariat and international teams in all financial aspects relating accounting.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

Working closely with the Finance Team and outsourced local finance specialists:

• Prepare regular management accounts, budget performance and cashflow forecast for group and subsidiaries

• Perform consolidation of the group

• Lead GWEC parent company accounting

• Monthly posting to and reconciliation of project fund accounts

• Prepare monthly accounting close, perform the year end close, and

• Work with the CFO in preparation of the annual financial statements

• Oversee weekly payment runs

• Administer monthly payroll (including of overseas jurisdictions) in conjunction with local payroll bureau

• Review or prepare VAT returns

• Manage international cash ensuring funds are available in the countries and accounts as required.

• Reconcile relevant Balance Sheet accounts

Essentia Person Criteria:

• Right to work in the UK, fluency in written and spoken English

• Qualified CCAB accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIPFA, or AAT (min. level 3 or equivalent) or Masters degree in Accounting

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxes, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting

• 7 or more year’s work experience in finance and administration management

• Great IT skills- multiple Accounting Systems and advanced Excel skills (e.g. use of VLOOKUP’s, Pivot tables etc)

You will be responsible for circa £800k income this financial year with the opportunity to develop and grow both income streams.

Your excellent oral and written communication skills will play a key role in personally cultivating and developing relationships with high profile funders and supporters to ensure we are maximising the strategic and financial benefit to Helen & Douglas House. To succeed in this role, you will possess strong experience in major donor and/or trust fundraising. You will be experienced in developing and delivering complex income and expenditure budgets, including regular variance reporting and reforecast and planning contingency action. While experience of Donorflex or other similar relational database is preferable, training can be provided.
