Working closely with Age UK's Chief Network Officer, Director of Network Support and Engagement, and Head of Internal Communications, you will be part of a team leading on a communications strategy which helps to make the Age UK network a great network to be a part of.
You'll collaborate with colleagues across Age UK and the Age UK network to develop inspiring content so we can best support people the Age UK network and help them in their work to improve the lives of older people.

Though it took Sadie years to admit this to Sam, Marx did prove incredibly useful that summer. No, Marx wasn’t a game designer. He wasn’t an ace programmer, like Sadie, and he couldn’t draw, like Sam. But he did almost everything else for them, and his contributions ranged from the pedestrian, but necessary, to the creatively essential. The Operations team provides operational support to AIM (e.g., human resource management, finance, productivity). The team also supports our incubated charities, assisting with their initial set-up after the program so they can hit the ground running, as well as ongoing ad-hoc requests and advice as needed. Added to this, Operations supports other participants in programs run by AIM(e.g., people completing fellowships with our research team). While this is less than for the Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program, it increases as these programs mature.
Our Operations team currently consists of ~2.8 FTE – our Chief Operating Officer (previous Managing Director and CTO of Founders Pledge), our Director of Operations (with a mixed background in legal services, management consulting, and scale-up operations), and a Senior Operations Manager (with a background in risk and security management in low- and middle-income countries). The team also relies on external contractors for some of its functions (e.g., bookkeeping, legal advice).

Overall purpose
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations initially, the role holder will have technical leadership and overall responsibility for managing the Data and Innovation team. This team helps Breaking Barriers maximise the value of its data, by conducting analysis and managing the CRM (Salesforce) and related software.
The team works across all areas of the organisation to improve processes, unlock efficiencies through automation and generate insights from data. They ensure that data is utilised to inform any innovations or refinements to our services.
The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial manager with a high level of data literacy. We are looking for someone strategic, highly organised and a strong people and team manager. They will be confident at communicating data in a variety of ways to a large range of audiences, identifying key take-aways and the broader implications of the findings on our clients and programming. They will also be able to train others in key data analysis and communication skills.

ROLDA (Romanian League in Defence of Animals) is a small animal welfare charity working to improve the lives of dogs, cats, and other animals in Romania and internationally. Since its establishment in 2006, ROLDA has become a beacon of hope for the millions of vulnerable stray animals in Romania – one of Europe's economically poorest nations. Our mission is to manage the homeless animal population, estimated to be millions, through six key focuses: rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Within our shelters, inspired by British kennel design and maintained to meet EU animal welfare standards, we can house up to 700 stray dogs at a time. Here, they receive complete veterinary care, rehabilitation, and preparation for rehoming. Since 2006, we have helped over 48,000 animals (primarily dogs and cats) and built two shelters for dogs and one for disabled and senior cats. We also distribute support, primarily through small grants, to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We rehome mainly in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. In addition to our efforts in rescuing and rehoming animals, ROLDA tackles the root cause of Romania's homeless animals through comprehensive neutering programmes and educational initiatives. Since 2006, we have successfully neutered nearly 20,000 cats and dogs, significantly impacting Romania's severe overpopulation of animals.

Our Community Connector’s serve as the first point of contact for those visiting our sites, providing support for people to engage with services and activities.
The role aims to build relationships, identify peoples’ interests and goals and find appropriate opportunities for support. This role will be largely based in our main location, in Bromley by Bow, and Welcome Hub in East India Dock Rd, which we are developing in partnership with Poplar HARCA, an award-winning housing association in East London.

The organisation:
We are excited to be working with an inspiring international development charity to find them a Head of Fundraising on an interim basis, with the potential to become permanent. This is a hands on role, working to grow income across a major donor, trust and corporate portfolio.
You will be responsible for:
- Manage and increase a portfolio of Major Donors, Trusts and Foundations, and Corporates who have awarded grants to the charity in the past
- Explore innovative methods to enhance current relationships and sustain the existing donor pipeline
- Collaborate with the Programmes Team to develop engaging proposals for current donors and broaden the charity’s reach to new supporters
- Supervise the processing of large donations, ensuring that all administrative steps comply with regulations and best practices, and are executed promptly
- Work with the Marketing and Events Team to maintain alignment in all digital communications, marketing initiatives, and fundraising appeals
- Organize and participate in donor-specific trips to nurture and strengthen existing relationships.
- Support the CEO in mentoring and managing junior staff involved in fundraising and related functions, eventually overseeing one or two direct reports.
Person specification:
- Experienced fundraiser with a track record of securing 5 and 6 figure gifts
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities with keen attention to detail and capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Creative and persuasive skills for designing innovative fundraising initiatives
- Presence and self-assurance to engage with high-profile individuals effectively
- Capacity to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced entrepreneurial setting with a small team and limited resources
- Proven experience as a lead fundraiser in a charity, ideally with a focus on international charities or projects in developing countries
What's on offer:
