Purpose of job

To play a key role within the Development Team to maximise the fundraising potential of the SS Great Britain Trust through a wide range of activities, with a particular focus on creating high quality fundraising applications and proposals, carrying out research, and maximising income from corporate partnerships.

This role requires a candidate who:

• Will develop new ideas and optimise opportunities to grow income across all income streams.
• Is able to manage a busy and varied workload.
• Will be motivated by raising funds and demonstrate an ability to skilfully manage relationships with supporters at all levels.
• Is keen to develop their existing fundraising skills in a small and committed team, focused on increasing income for an outstanding independent museum, educational charity, and leading visitor attraction in the centre of Bristol.

Main tasks

• Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors to ensure that they have a brilliant relationship with the Trust, are kept up-to-date with events and programmes, and are engaged to continue to support.
• With a particular focus on corporate fundraising, develop and deliver opportunities to grow income from companies through membership, sponsorship and events.
• Review, analyse, and report on income, working to agreed targets, helping to inform the strategy and deliver growth.
• Deliver events for the fundraising team including managing invitation lists, managing event budgets, developing event plans, briefing notes and planning post event activity.
• Provide excellent stewardship for all supporters, with a focus on thanking in new and innovate ways.
• In consultation with the Development Manager research potential new sources of income across all areas. Conduct research to support fundraising for projects, create briefing notes for events and meetings, and undertake other research as required, in line with GDPR and relevant charitable regulations.
• Create high quality and engaging fundraising materials to secure support including corporate partnership proposals, trust fundraising applications, member appeals and sponsorship bids.
• Produce high-quality written communications for supporters, with a particular focus on companies.
• Develop and implement processes to ensure that supporters are asked, thanked and reported to in timely way.
• Be a champion for the CRM database, recording and using data to maximise fundraising potential.
• Undertake other duties as can be reasonably required to assist in the smooth and efficient running of the Trust. Some weekend and out of hours working may be required.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strategic Leadership and Execution: In collaboration with the Board, the CEO will define CVS Brent's strategic direction, goals, monitor progress, and set targets..

• Report to the Board of Trustees: Attend Board meetings and keep the Board informed about CVS Brent's progress, relevant matters, and the charity's mission. Provide timely and relevant information to aid the Board in fulfilling its duties. Alert the Board to any significant risks facing the charity.
• Ensure Robust Oversight: Uphold and implement CVS Brent's policies, procedures, and systems. Strive for operational excellence by adhering to established guidelines and continuously improving processes.
• Stay Informed and Proactive: Continuously monitor and stay updated on current social, economic, political, environmental, and other relevant trends. Use this knowledge to identify strategic development opportunities for CVS Brent and proactively adapt to changing circumstances.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

While no specific qualification is required, evidence of recent continuing professional development in areas such as management, leadership, or organisational culture is desired. Alternatively, equivalent work experience in a related field will be considered.

• Partnership Building: Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships, particularly with large and complex statutory organisations. Proven success in forming positive relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders.

Galop is the UK’s LGBT+ anti-abuse charity, working with and for thousands of LGBT+ people who experience abuse and violence every year. 

Galop specialises in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, honour-based abuse, forced marriage, so-called “conversion therapy”, and other forms of interpersonal abuse. Using what is learnt through working on the frontlines with clients, Galop works on national and local policy change to improve outcomes for LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse and violence.

 About the Interim Director Of People role: 

Following a significant period of growth over the last three years, Galop is now in a phase of stabilisation to ensure our workforce is supported in continuing to deliver essential services to the LGBT+ community. We are seeking an experienced Interim Director of People, Culture, and Operations to join our team. This role is critical in driving our strategic initiatives related to human resources, organisational culture, and operational efficiency.

Some of the key areas of responsibility will include: 

• Develop and implement people strategies that support our mission and goals and act as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and equitable workplace culture and promote diversity and inclusion across the organization, working with an Anti-Racism Consultant.
• Implement training and development programs focused on legislative soundness and cultural competency and intersectionality.

About the person:

The successful candidate will have a profound understanding of the complexities and intersections within the LGBT+ community and workforce. Supported by a Trustee Board that includes senior HR expertise, this role requires someone who has experience in establishing a trusted culture, preferably within a third sector organisation. Minimum CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience), including a solid understanding of UK employment law.

THE ROLE
The Landscape Partnerships Lead (known as Treescape Lead internally) will lead in developing the Weald and Downs Treescape in South East England, where we want ancient woodland and trees across this extensive ancient wooded landscape to be valued, protected and restored. Ancient woodlands will be core areas for nature recovery within a resilient landscape. The Landscape Partnerships manager will lead an existing programme of partnership work, scoping out our current position and new opportunities, for our vision of transformational change at landscape scale. 

They will work with internal and external stakeholders to manage and develop partnerships, identifying appropriate mechanisms to plan fund and deliver a wide-ranging portfolio of projects. The role will be part of a UK network of Treescape leads working on the Trust’s Treescape programme across the UK.

The job title for this role is Treescape Lead as per the Job Description attached. 

THE CANDIDATE
Along with excellent communication skills you’ll have a proven track record in managing a programme of projects, as well as experience of working with and influencing multiple stakeholders to identify and develop shared objectives that deliver our strategy in the Weald and Downs treescape.  You’ll need to be an organised strategic thinker with capacity to assimilate and prioritise information from multiple levels and focus it on delivering key outcomes for the Trust. 

With a collaborative approach to achieving results, you’ll be talented at developing meaningful partnerships. You will ideally be based in or around the Weald and Downs area in Sussex, Kent or Surrey with a UK driving licence.

The Board of Trustees are seeking an Interim CEO to stabilise the organisation after recent disruption. The Interim CEO will appraise the current situation, and quickly define and deliver a program of short- and medium-term actions to get CCS into a position from which it can move forward. The Interim CEO will be accountable for all aspects of operational delivery, ensuring that targets are met while enabling the Board of Trustees to fulfil its strategic and governance responsibilities. Required experience and skills:

• A track record of delivery in turnaround situations.

Here at Brain Tumour Research, we are looking for a Policy and Public Affairs Officer to join a dynamic and influential campaigning team. You will play a pivotal role as a Policy and Publics Affairs Officer, working closely with the Head of Stakeholder Relations and the Policy and Public Affairs Manager. This will include supporting the development and implementation of effective public affairs and campaigning activities, at Westminster and across the devolved nations.

Policy and Public Affairs Officer

We train specialist dogs to detect the odour of human disease, providing life-saving alert assistance dogs to people with complex health problems across the UK and collaborating with NHS Trusts and other researchers and Universities both in the UK and internationally to advance the early diagnosis of disease.

The Job

We are a charity that punches above its weight.  We receive no statutory funding and rely on the generosity of our many volunteers and supporters who raise awareness of our work and much needed funds.  The main purpose of this role will be to support the Community and Events Manager to develop local volunteer groups with the aim of increasing both awareness of the charity’s life-saving work and local fundraising. Other activities and administrative tasks across our key fundraising areas will also form part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Support the Community & Events Fundraising Manager with the delivery of events
• Support the Region 5 volunteers in conjunction with the Community Fundraising Team
• Represent and promote the charity at external events within the Region 5 geography including some evenings and weekends.
• Assist the Individual Giving Manager with the fulfilment of supporter communications including thank you letters and fulfillment of the Sponsor A Puppy Programme.
• Co-ordinate general fundraising enquiries and action accordingly offering exceptional customer service

The Role
