The Director of Policy and Research is a key senior leadership role at Learning and Work Institute. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the post-holder will be responsible for leading a team of around 30 experts in research, analysis, and policy development in these fields, generating more than £2.5 million in programme income and achieving a significant impact in policy and practice.
The appointed person will likely bring advanced knowledge of a range of methods and approaches that can be applied to research and development within public policy and will have a clear understanding of programme and project teaching and processes.
The successful candidate will also be committed to Learning and Works Institute’s charitable aims and objectives. You will have a track record of sizable income generation including developing proposals, developing funding relationships, and bid writing. You will also have a track record of delivering complex and high-profile programmes of research and/or development work, including managing resources and delivering to time and quality expectations within budget.
We welcome the appointed person’s proven track record in building strong relationships with national and local government, delivery organisations, partners and funders. Experience of leading a range of research and development approaches, such as reports, evaluations, pilot development and technical support, is also welcomed.
As a senior leader of the largest staff team the post-holder will need to possess excellent leadership and management skills, including an ability to inspire teams, develop and motivate staff, ensure high performance and deliver continuous improvement.

Main Areas of Responsibility
The purpose of your role will be:
- To play a key role within the Academy to ensure that all pupils with additional needs make accelerated progress in their learning and achieve to the very best of their ability.
- To directly contribute to pupils’ accelerated progress through high quality sustained teaching of intervention support based upon a detailed knowledge of their specific needs.
- To have high expectations, lead by example, promoting the federation/academy vision, values and aims.
- To be a member of the School Leadership Team (SLT) and contribute to the strategic development and direction of the academy in line with the Academy Improvement Plan.
- To provide leadership and direction in supporting meeting the needs of children with SEND.

About the role:
This London based role will strengthen and optimise one of the critical pillars of our strategy, by building strategic relationships with those institutions aligned to solve the same persistent issues that dog agricultural supply chains. We focus on programmatic work that delivers a set of interventions, that in combination, will address the causes that we champion – namely, the reduction of poverty, arresting deforestation, promoting access to services and lastly but crucially addressing Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD) in the tea supply chain.
Key areas of responsibility include:
• Lead the definition of the overall fundraising strategy.

Essential Skills:

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Oxfordshire. How are staff supported to work remotely?
VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.

The newly-created role of Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing is responsible for building the profile of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, and clearly and confidently telling the story of its value and impact.
The Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing will develop and execute effective, integrated communications and marketing strategies that advance the Royal Hospital’s corporate positioning and increase awareness of and support for the organisation to help meet its core business objectives.
The successful candidate will have significant experience of working on high-profile campaigns in a busy press office or marketing agency environment. You will be responsible for delivering and overseeing impactful, multi-channel campaigns for a wide range of initiatives including the year-round programme of events at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and the Soane Stable Yard, as well as further afield with the launch of our Veterans' Outreach programme. You will have experience of developing a a team to deliver the strategic priorities, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to build the brand and reputation of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
The Royal Hospital Chelsea has been the home of the iconic veterans of the British Army, the Chelsea Pensioners for more than 330 years. We offer excellent accommodation, comradeship and the highest standards of care in recognition of their loyal service to the nation. Any former soldier of the British Army over the age of 66, who is facing spending their advanced years alone, can apply for residence. About 300 army veterans live at the Hospital today, including those who have served in Korea, the Falkland Islands, Cyprus, Northern Ireland and World War II. Others may not have served in campaigns, but all understand what it means to be a soldier and the potential sacrifice that it entails.
The Royal Hospital is a Grade I and II listed site, a beautiful architectural legacy left to us by Charles II and Sir Christopher Wren. Maintenance of the site continues today with ongoing restoration work to ensure that this legacy lives on into the future.

The Finance and Supporter Care Officer will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day financial record-keeping and systems for the charity, including donation processing and bank reconciliation. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Leading People Operations: embedding excellent policies and processes, and advisory support
- Provide leadership of the the day-to-day People and Culture team at the Charity, including direct management of the People and Culture Manager, Volunteer Development Manager, and Learning and Engagement Manager.
- Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including engaging Champions Groups e.g. EDI Champions, to make The Charity a great place to work
- Provide senior leadership advisory support to Heads of Teams peers and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure we have the right skills and culture to enable our strategic priorities
- Provide advice, guidance and support to leaders and manager on employment law, people policies and practices, and manage complex employee relations matters as required
