An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Alumni Networks Executive to join us on a permanent basis in The Development & Alumni Engagement Office.
About the Role
The Alumni Networks Team manage the Regional and Special Interest Groups - the Alumni Networks programme which is run through alumni volunteers throughout the world. The role of Alumni Networks Executive will deliver some aspects of the alumni engagement strategy and takes direct responsibility for managing the existing groups and also enhancing the Alumni Networks programme with strategic groups, including Special Interest Groups. The team act as the primary contact between the University and its alumni networks around the world and is responsible for managing relationships with these groups to further mutually beneficial aims that actively contribute to the University’s strategic goals. The role is a mix of proactive engagement and project delivery across a range of stakeholders, and while also supporting the alumni groups including funding applications, general volunteer management and advising committee members on how best to support the University. The role also line manages the Alumni Networks Coordinator.

The role will involve:
• Work closely with the Finance Manager on various accounts payable tasks
• Maintain effective filing, archiving and record keeping systems, both paper and electronic
• Ensure all supporting documentation is in place before payment runs.
• Enter invoices in the accounting system as instructed by the Finance Manager and the Finance Officer
• Responsible for petty cash; including handling and recording in and outward cash requirements along with scanned proof of receipts
• Work closely with the Finance Officer on ensuring the entries in the accounting system are up to date
• Manage accounts’ email inbox and maintain organised folder structure.
• Track payments due to partners and prepare payment requests, along with associated documentation.

This new role will be responsible for developing and managing the charity’s Individual Giving (IG) programmes across a variety of activities that support donor relations - including retention, acquisition and cultivation whilst delivering excellent supporter journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the day-to-day management of all IG programmes, appeals and campaigns in line with the overall fundraising strategy, targets and objectives.
• Develop and manage fundraising appeals, ensuring they are compelling and effective in generating support from both existing and new supporters.
• Develop and implement new IG initiatives including supporting GDPR and lead generation projects.
• Implement the delivery of excellent supporter care and stewardship processes ensuring all donors are appropriately thanked and stewarded.
• Plan and deliver activities that identify and cultivate donors (regular communications and meaningful updates etc) to increase engagement and conversion rates across all segments.

Person Specification:
• Demonstrable experience within a similar IG role in the voluntary sector, with a proven track record in IG and donor management.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets from unrestricted donations.
• Delivering donor recruitment and retention projects from initiation to completion.
• Planning, delivering and managing individual giving programmes with the ability to create and tailor engaging, emotive copy for a range of different channels.
• Knowledge and understanding of targeting, segmentation and response analysis.
