About the Role

As a passionate professional in the identification, development and management of a wide range of relationships in support of our programme partnership, you will ensure the Career Ready programme in Glasgow and West areas (currently Inverclyde, West Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire and South Lanarkshire) continues to thrive, which includes securing charitable donations from supporting partners. Your responsibilities for the area, will be as a team of two, alongside our other Regional Manager for Glasgow and West areas given this is our largest area in Scotland.

This role requires experience of partnership and account management and the scale and ambition of our social mobility work means you will need to be well organised, confident and able to positively influence a wide range of people including headteachers, teachers, CEOs and HRDs.

You will identify and approach opportunities that are well researched and pursue with unswerving perseverance. It’s also a great chance to develop personally.

Regional Managers are responsible for leading our work which involves growing, developing and maintaining the employer and education partnerships that deliver the Career Ready programme. This includes the Local Advisory Board, local authorities (key stakeholders), schools (we have a member of staff in each school who coordinates), the Developing the Young Workforce Regional Group, and the many employer organisations and their people who volunteer as mentors, provide paid internships and deliver masterclasses.

By assimilating what, why, when and the how of our work, you will be able to:

1. Lead, grow and develop our Career Ready partnership in Glasgow and the West, optimising the programme experience for all stakeholders and securing the engagement of employer support for the programme of approximately 300+ students each year who will participate in the 18-month long Career Ready programme annually.
2. Support programme delivery, stakeholder engagement and business development by working closely with the Career Ready Glasgow & West Local Advisory Board, the other Career Ready Glasgow & West Regional Manager, the Head of Programme & Operations, Partnerships Manager and the Career Ready Regional Manager Scotland team all who are focused on quality, impact and sustainability underpinned by attention to detail via efficient and effective processes. You will be supported by and work with the Career Ready Scotland Operations Team to maintain thorough data and management information for the area.

• £34,000 – £37,500 DOE

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to raise LMK’s profile and to engage LMK’s stakeholders in our services, campaigns and fundraising efforts by delivering impactful content across all of our online and offline communication channels in alignment with our vision, mission and strategic objectives. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating quality communications, you will lead our PR and media work, be skilled in creating engaging video content and add your expertise to developing and delivering our social media, website and stakeholder communications.

Reporting to our CEO, the successful candidate will job-share with our established 2 day-per week Marketing & Communications Manager. As a member of LMK’s core staff team, you will work with LMK staff, LMK Leaders (youth workers who deliver our workshops to young people), members of our Youth Advisory Board, trustees and key stakeholders to develop and implement our brand, marketing and social media strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Brand

• Co-develop LMK’s marketing strategy, leveraging key stakeholder input and action plans to support it
• Co-ownership of the execution of all marketing activities and materials, ensuring they reflect the brand and the values of the charity
• Lead the planning and execution of PR and media campaigns, leveraging media contacts, ensuring LMK has engaging media materials and our spokespeople are fully prepared to maximise media opportunities
• Be a brand guardian, responsible for the consistent use of visual identity, tone and messaging in our external materials, working with our graphic designer to support teams across LMK with branding

Communications, Content Development & Execution

• Co-ownership of the execution of all communications and content development
• Lead on the creation of engaging video content that can be used across communications platforms
• Working with the wider team, produce communications materials for supporters and key stakeholders in conjunction with the fundraising team
• Source and write up regular impact stories from across the organisation that reflect our strategic objectives which can be used in a variety of channels
• Be responsible for tracking the impact of marketing & communications, sharing reports with the team and Board of Trustees

Digital

• Grow and expand LMK’s social media presence onto new platforms (e.g. TikTok, SnapChat, Bluesky) whilst expanding existing presence on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn
• Monitor social channels daily, checking for messages/comments
• Co-manage the website as a key marketing channel, creating engaging content, optimising for SEO, overseeing website design updates, coordinating with developers on technical aspects, and analysing website traffic

• Comply with LMK policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health & safety, confidentiality, complaints and data protection

Person specification

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience of developing messages/content for different audiences effectively and across different platforms including social media, websites, newsletters and emails
• Evidence of success in developing and executing PR strategies, including securing and maximising media opportunities
• Highly organised to manage a diverse workload with excellent time management and project management skills
• Experience of using a social media management tools e.g. Buffer, Asana, Hootsuite and communications tools e.g. Mailchimp
• Experience in creating and editing video content, using Canva or an equivalent design programme
• A knowledge of the Violence Against Women and Girls sector, Education sector or working with young people would be preferable, although not essential

Head of High Value

The Head of High Value in Fundraising will focus and lead on:

· Setting the strategic direction of High Value fundraising

· Managing key stakeholder relationships

· Lead on stewardship and cultivation planning across High Value Fundraising

· Ensure there are effective process and ways of working across High Value such as meeting schedules and pipeline reporting

· Ensure high quality cultivation plans across high value, increasing the number of new supporters to meet fundraising ambitions

The role of the Development Manager: Quality and Improvement will sit within the Partnerships and Federation Development directorate, to support the delivery of key charity and federation-wide objectives, as part of our mission to empower people affected by homelessness and poverty to change their lives for the better while using our voice to achieve social change.

The principal responsibility will be to support our ambition to become a best practice national body, responsible for the day-to-day management of the Quality and Improvement function within Emmaus UK and the wider federation.

The Human Rights Fund gives grants to progressive groups and organisations which actively promote and defend human rights and seek transformational change.We don’t fund the fashionable and well-endowed, but rather seek to identify where there is real need and where we can make a genuine difference.We typically fund organisations which may be doing unique or unusual work, often in challenging circumstances.We are sympathetic to new and recently-founded organisations and those which have difficulty in raising funds.We are pro-active and do not accept unsolicited applications for funds (which explains why we do not have a website).

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, well organised and numerate.You should be well-informed about, and have an understanding of, one or more of the issues which our grant-funding programme addresses, namely:

• Palestinian rights
• Alternative media
• Violence against women and girls 
• Social justice 

You are likely to have experience in either grant giving, working for an NGO or campaigning.  You will research potential grantees, conduct due diligence, monitor grantees (which includes developing good relationships) and review grants.

You will help administer our current programme and identify organisations that would benefit from our support.Do you have the experience, drive and necessary skills to make a real difference and help us progress to the next level? If so, then we’d like to hear from you.

Key Tasks

• Within agreed parameters, identify and research potential grantees including due diligence and meeting with leadership of potential grantees 
• Considering core versus restricted or project funding 
• Monitoring grantees and ensuring compliance with grant requirements 
• Annual reviews of grantees including reviewing annual reports etc. 
• Keeping an account of grants using Excel

• Assist in reviewing our portfolio of existing grants 
• Help develop our grant making strategy
• Help review process for awarding grants and identifying impact 

• Keeping our template agreement and other documents under review 
• Arranging verification of charitable status of organisations not registered as UK charities 

• Analysing whether we make a difference 
• Liaising with other funders, fiscal sponsors or charities

Experience and Skills

       Essential

• Understanding of and commitment to human rights 
• Experience with an NGO, charity or campaign, preferably in areas relevant to the Fund’s work
• Well-informed about, and have an understanding of, one or more of our funding tracks – Palestinian rights, alternative media, violence against women and girls, and social justice

• Good communication skills – both written and verbal
• Good level of numeracy and the ability to understand a basic budget
• Good IT skills including good working knowledge of MS Office, Excel and other relevant software

• Well organised self-starter, methodical and accurate with good attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and on own initiative

       Desirable

• Experience in the human rights sector
• Experience of grant-making, fundraising and/or campaigning 
• Experience of undertaking research and writing reports
• Ability to understand accounts
• Familiarity with social media 

Terms

• The position is 2 to 3 days (up to 21 hours) per week, working from home.We are flexible on working hours and will discuss exact hours and working patterns with candidates at interview. 
• You will meet regularly with and be responsible to our Founder and Executive Committee who are based in London.You will therefore need to be in London or within easy travelling distance. 
• Salary: circa £32,000 to £37,000 (FTE) depending on experience
• Other terms:pension option, 25 days annual leave (pro rata), probation period.

Reports To: Head of Portfolio and Planning 

The Portfolio Management Office (PMO) team’s core purpose is to provide support, guidance, and assurance of the delivery of the National Fire Chiefs Council’s (NFCC) national programmes and projects by providing specialist expertise, knowledge, and facilitation across the portfolio. The team ensures proper governance procedures are in place and that project/programme methodologies are embedded and adhered to.

The PMO is also the central point of contact for the Project/Programme Managers, assisting with the management of their projects as well as acting as a critical friend to challenge and scrutinise to ensure that they are adhering to processes and providing information in a timely manner for internal and external reporting to internal boards and the Home Office.

As Portfolio Co-Ordinator you will be responsible for the administration needs of the Portfolio Office and providing additional ad hoc admin support to Programme teams.

You will be responsible for dairy management and event organisation for the PMO for workshops and training sessions, this will involve booking travel and accommodation.

The post-holder will provide support to the Head of Portfolio and Planning with secretariat support, providing support with the PMO reporting and monitoring function to all programmes and Portfolio administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities:

Provide direct secretarial support to Head of Portfolio and Planning including drafting of correspondence, diary management and co-ordination, administrative tasks.

Co-ordinate and organise meetings, workshops and events including the arrangement of venues, travel and accommodation, where appropriate. For portfolio and programme level.

Assist with creating and facilitating masterclasses and workshops for the wider portfolio team.

Attend programme and project meetings and support them by preparing and circulating report packs, taking minutes, logging decisions and actions and tracking the completion of agreed actions.

Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings.

Lead on the co-ordination of the forward planner and scheduling in business case submissions.

Act as liaison and first point of contact via the PMO inbox and provide signposting to relevant colleagues within NFCC who can respond to queries raised.

Be responsible for raising Purchase Orders (PO) forms.

Research and compiling data for portfolio and projects ad-hoc, liaising with key stakeholders internal and external.

Managing documents and files in the SharePoint environment ensuring the Information Management framework is implemented.

The successful candidate will:

Have a keen understanding and use of o365, SharePoint and Microsoft Suite, Excel and Word in particular.

Be able to demonstrate high levels of literacy, numeracy, accuracy, communication and writing skills with a strong attention to detail.

You have experience working in an admin function.

You have excellent time management skills.

You establish effective relationships with senior stakeholders within the organisation and develop a deep knowledge and understanding of your business area.

You have the ability to apply reasoning and knowledge to decision-making and solving problems.

You are confident working alone or as part of a wider team.
