The role of Legal Assistant reports to the Director of Legal & Governance and you will assist them in ensuring the legal function of the organisation runs efficiently and smoothly by providing a range of support, including preparing various legal documents such as grants and service agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and legal requirements and working closely with colleagues across the organisation.
You will contribute to the smooth functioning of legal processes and ensure that colleagues and external stakeholders receive an efficient service.
This role is fixed term for 12 months, part time at 22.5 hours per week and can be based at any of our hubs in Leeds, London or Birmingham. We offer flexible working and consider alternative patterns of work.

Terms and Conditions
- Location: This role can be based at the MAF UK Offices in Folkstone, Kent or optionally could be in the Oxford, Cambridge arc as we seek to launch a new hub in the Milton Keynes area, maximising our engagement with a thriving local aerospace and charity sector region. Up to two days a week in our Folkstone Office might be initially required.We welcome hybrid working in line with our flexible working policy, the needs of the business, the requirements of the role and your location. This will be discussed at interview.
- Working Hours: This is a full time role (at least 36 hours per week, with 1 hour for lunch daily unpaid) but requiring some flexibility on the successful candidate to work additional hours occasionally some of which could be outside the normal business hours. Hours should be agreed with line manager.
- Travel: Flexibility will be required for working additional hours and travel to meet business needs (inlcuding overseas travel) or for travel/meetings on weekends or evenings.

Every year thousands of students volunteer to build communities around activities and social issues that are meaningful to them. The Student Development Team aims to create opportunities for students to build and participate in communities that are inclusive, sustainable, ambitious, and impactful, and the Senior Volunteer Coordinator will play a key role in achieving this vision for our student leadership programmes.
In collaboration with a second Senior Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll be leading on a series of volunteering programmes that we’re really proud of. Since September 2023, student volunteers have raised over £150,000 for charitable causes, given over 2,800 hours of their time to volunteer directly in the local community, and broadcast an award-winning radio station, among other achievements. The Major Donor Manager will develop and deliver a leading-edge programme of major donor fundraising that maximises sustainable income and long-term value for the Charity, ensuring that high-value fundraising opportunities arising from the 100th anniversary of the BBC Radio 4 Appeal in 2026 are optimised. They will ensure the highest quality of stewardship and supporter engagement, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a seamless approach to major donor cultivation. Key duties include:

Work with the Head of Leadership Giving to further develop the Charity’s major donor fundraising strategy and budget, maximising sustainable net income and capitalising on opportunities afforded by the 100th anniversary of the BBC Radio 4 Christmas Appeal in 2026.

Acquire an excellent knowledge and understanding of the Charity’s values and programmes, working collaboratively to provide bespoke donor information and cases for support.

Produce and implement solicitation and development plans for existing major donors and prospects, developing opportunities for them to become active and engaged in the Charity’s activities.

We’re looking for the following skills and experience:

About this key role
This multi-faceted role will see our successful candidate produce monthly management accounts for St Giles Trust with commentary and key performance indicators, monitor and report on budget and prepare financial forecasts and projections, plus prepare monthly schedules such as deferred income, accruals, and prepayment in accordance with accounting policies.
We will also count on you to monitor expenditure and income and support budget holders in managing the delegated budget by providing monthly reports on income, grant, and expenditure and to monitor the organisation’s expenditure and income, as well as supporting managers with the preparation of funders’ monthly or quarterly reports on fund usage. Coordinating the year-end financial accounts and supporting the Head of Finance to ensure a smooth process and being point of contact for all financial systems related matters are also key aspects of the role.
What we are looking for
• Experience of in-year reporting and monitoring key performance indicators
• Experience of working with non-finance managers on financial issues
• Experience of managing the payroll process
• Experience of preparing management accounts returns for funders, reconciling fundraising figures to budgets/actuals on financial systems
• Strong accounting technical knowledge (debits, credit, accruals, deferred income, etc)
• Ability to use Exchequer or similar financial system and experience of Sage 50 Payroll or similar payroll software
• Ability to explain technical accounting terms to non-finance managers
• Excellent IT, interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.

Job Purpose
We are passionate about building an alumni community of our former students and apprentices to ensure that we can support them in progressing their careers while enabling them to engage with and learn from each other.
The postholder will join Ada at an exciting time as we build and launch the alumni programme. They will be able to shape and deliver events and activities such as engagement events, professional development opportunities, volunteering and mentoring/support.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
As our Alumni Relations Lead you will:
- Develop and maintain an ongoing dialogue with our alumni community through focus groups and research to reach a clear understanding of what they want and need from us, including the differences between Sixth Form and apprentice alumni.
- Undertake regular data collection cycles to track the current employment and needs of our current and future alumni. This will include but is not limited to using surveys and research. Develop a systematic approach to holding data (including data protection) and CRM.
- Work with your manager to develop an ambitious approach to how we understand both the impact of our alumni in their roles and our continuing impact on their career.
- Deliver against programme KPIs and continuously drive improvement.
- Deliver and shape a programme of planned communications and marketing to the alumni community to drive engagement.
- Deliver and shape a programme of both in person and virtual events and activities to drive impact. These include but are not limited to: providing specific services e.g. jobs board, career coaching, networking events.
- Maintain, manage and internally champion our alumni database, ensuring rigorous GDPR rules are adhered to.
- Recruit and support champions from within the alumni network to act as alumni ambassadors.
- Attend professional development activities either at Ada or elsewhere to improve and enhance your own practice, including attending meetings which take place outside of normal working hours.

PROJECT MANAGER
THE ABBEY OF ST EDMUND: A MILLENNIUM OF ENGLISH HISTORY IN WEST SUFFOLK
Thanks to National Lottery players, St Edmundsbury Cathedral, in partnership with West Suffolk Council and English Heritage, has received a Development Phase grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to conserve the Abbey of St Edmund ruins, deliver universal access through a network of footpaths, and build a heritage welcome centre within a line of listed buildings facing the town’s public space.
We are now looking for a Project Manager to co-ordinate and assist in the management of the development phase, which will last until February 2026. If we are successful in our delivery phase application, the role will continue for a further three years. We’re looking for someone with:
- Similar project management experience, at a comparable level of cost and complexity, especially working on Heritage Fund projects.
- Experience of working on projects with complex structures (we have three project partners: St Edmundsbury Cathedral, English Heritage and West Suffolk Council).
- A good understanding of audiences for heritage to enable activity planning and audience development to take place alongside the capital and design works.
Flexible working, but must be on site at least 2 days a week.

Role summary
You’ll be raising funds primarily for School Plates, the flagship UK programme, to help school menus to become healthier and more planet-friendly by increasing the quality, quantity, and uptake of plant-based food.
The programme is growing rapidly. Now working with 70 major school caterers feeding over 1 million children daily, we’ve roughly doubled our reach in each of the last two years. With a new educational programme to teach children about their food choices launching this year, and our School Plates Awards and Global Plant-based School Food Network both expanding considerably, there is a need to significantly grow our income.
The role is primarily a combination of major donor and corporate fundraising to complement our existing trusts and foundations fundraising. You’ll be an experienced relationship builder, a driven and enthusiastic self-starter, and an excellent project manager. International Field Officer - various locations overseas (January 2025 start date)

Location: Initial Field Officer training will be in Cambodia or Sri Lanka. First posting will be assigned across any of our global programmes.

The mission of the HALO Trust is: “To lead the effort to save lives and restore livelihoods for those affected by conflict”. HALO clears landmines, disposes of explosive ordnance including IEDs, and is involved in weapon control.
When you become a Field Officer in HALO, you join a team with a shared commitment to making a difference in some of the most vulnerable communities in the world. HALO offers a full training package for the role of Field Officer, and you do not require previous knowledge of landmine clearance or ordnance disposal.
HALO wants people who have a sense of adventure but are responsible and mature. We are looking for leaders who are resilient and self-motivated.
HALO’s Field Officers work across our programmes in various roles and with early responsibilities. You will need the aptitude to be able to function in dynamic and challenging environments and you should have demonstrable management and leadership skills.
HALO’s training will prepare you for deployment to one of our programmes where you could be leading between 250 and 1,000 local employees. On the Field Officer course you will receive technical training in mine clearance, basic explosive ordnance disposal and minefield survey. You will cover HALO’s finance, logistics, security and quality management systems. Once deployed to a programme, in addition to operational field work you will be involved in equipment auditing and maintenance, overseeing repair of vehicles, and writing reports and proposals.
Working for HALO is rewarding, but it is also physically and mentally demanding. Living and operating in remote locations in basic conditions can be wearing. You will be away from home for months on end. HALO Field Officers must be flexible and be willing to be posted to any of HALO's programmes.
