We are recruiting for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Deputy Manager, with experience of working with adults with a learning disability/autism and complex needs to join Outward.

This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your skills to support the Team manager in coaching and mentoring the staff team, and also embedding high standards in the running of the service. The successful candidate will be working alongside frontline staff to support the skills building needed to increase the independence of people with autism and/or learning disabilities and behaviours of concern. Responding to the Transforming Care agenda this service is providing a real opportunity for people to thrive and enjoy a good quality of life, as active and valued members of their community.

Outward’s autism and PBS specialist services have a strong reputation across London, where we support people to live full and active lives, with support designed around the person’s personal ambitions and choices. PBS training will be provided to develop the successful candidate into a PBS coach, and you will be working closely with our Positive Behaviour Lead to create a culture that promotes Positive Behaviour and Active Support values and practice. The role involves teaching people new skills and ways of communicating which reduces behaviours of concern.

About You

• Experience of managing a service for people with a learning disability/autism and complex needs including behaviours of concern is essential. (E)
• A qualification in Positive Behaviour Support Coaching (BILD accredited), or a willingness to gain the qualifications within the first 3 months of employment is essential. (E)
• You will be an excellent communicator liaising effectively with key stakeholders including the multi-disciplinary and health professionals, family carers and people we support. (E)
• You will have experience of staff management and the ability to lead, motivate and develop a large team, ensuring staff are appropriately trained. You will be visible in the service and strive to model best practice and inspire support workers. (E)

Background

The Royal Scottish Forestry Society, formed in 1854, is an educational charity focussing on promoting the understanding of trees, woods and forestry. 

Every year RSFS puts on what we believe to be the most extensive programme of practical forestry events across Scotland.  The Society has published a semi-academic journal, Scottish Forestry, since 1858 promoting all aspects of good practice in forestry.

Having agreed a refreshed strategy in 2023, RSFS is now looking to increase its delivery resource. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for Scotland’s trees and forests to develop closer links with members, partners and stakeholders. Your experience in operational delivery will allow us to improve our practices and professionalise our delivery to secure a sustainable future for the RSFS.

Who we are looking for

You will be a personable, dynamic self-starter, used to being the first point of contact within the organisation.  As RSFS is a virtual organisation, you must be highly-organised and able to work independently contributing to the overall team outcomes.

The principal functions of the role will be to support the Board in advancing its mission and representing RSFS to members and the community:

• Support our five Regions in planning and delivery of Regional Field Days and the Annual Study Tour;
• Manage the definition, planning and delivery of paid training events;
• Maintain links with members, partners, stakeholders and sector organisations;
• Develop and promote membership of the Society to a broad and relevant constituency;
• Evaluate and implement procedures for RSFS, and as appropriate for Cashel Forest Trust;
• Ensure, in conjunction with our Secretariat, that RSFS remains in compliance with prevailing laws and regulations; and
• Other duties as required by the role.

Outline terms and conditions

• The role is for 21 hours per week;
• A full-time equivalent salary of £45,000 to £55,000, pro rated for the contracted hours, to be agreed depending on experience;

As the SRH Services Manager, you will lead METRO’s London-based SRH services, overseeing a range of programs including sexual health clinics, outreach, and youth engagement. 

Role 

You will manage and oversee the daily operations of the Sexual Health Office (SHO), including staffing, results management, and helpline services. You will lead and develop a team of staff, providing supervision, training, and performance management. 

You will also be responsible for overseeing the implementation and evaluation of sexual health programmes, including the NCSP (National Chlamydia Screening Programme) and C-card (condom) schemes. You will work closely with other colleagues in our communications team to facilitate this. 

You will support engagement and reach targets for the NCSP and the C-Card programmes which we deliver across a number of London boroughs; towards this aim you will manage a small team of lead and frontline workers. This will also involve regular engagement with professional partners including commissioners, and can mean occasional support of frontline work (including facilitating outreach independently). 

You will oversee the Young Greenwich sexual health team in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, supporting a range of outreach, youth hub engagement, 1:1 support, and training throughout the borough. You will ensure that you work closely with other managers at METRO who are delivering Young Greenwich work, as well as with our Young Greenwich partners at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and Charlton Athletic Community Trust.

You will also have oversight and responsibility for analysing performance against KPIs and writing high quality reports for external stakeholders, including our funders and commissioners.

We are looking for a fundraiser eager to take the next step in their career by joining us and becoming our Philanthropy Manager. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, you'll support the established Advancement team across key fundraising priorities. Your previous experience with managing executives/senior volunteers will contribute to supporting the Director of Advancement in managing the activities and priorities of a volunteer-led fundraising board.

This is a pivotal new position created to contribute to a significant uplift in UWC International’s fundraising and prospect identification efforts in support of the new UWC Endowment. Your work managing your own portfolio of prospects (HNWI) will support the operational effectiveness of UWCI’s fundraising programme and the strategic development of global UWC funding priorities.

About the role

You will play a key role in advising on and delivering the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) requirements of the Academy’s grant schemes and career development programmes, which will contribute to communicating the impact of our work and the evidence base for the continuous improvement of our schemes and processes. You will also contribute to the team’s wider portfolio of work, including monitoring awards for assurance of compliance with our policies, and the delivery of our strategy. The role is positioned within the Academy’s Biomedical Grants and Policy Team and will report to the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager.

We are seeking an experienced candidate with a great understanding and knowledge of individual giving, who shows great leadership skills and the ability to collaborate across teams to maximise opportunities to achieve organisational growth. 

The role will manage the Donor Acquisition Fundraiser and In-Memory Fundraiser and be responsible for the overall delivery of our individual giving strategy. 

As the Individual Giving Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and implementation of our individual giving programme of fundraising and activities, aimed at individuals. It will be the Individual Giving Manager’s responsibility to generate significant income through individual gifts, campaigns and appeals, regular giving, in memoriam giving, lottery and legacies, and to increase activity and income from these sources. 

Your primary focus will be on recruiting new donors, retention through a gold standard supporter journey and income growth for these vital areas of fundraising, all while leading a dedicated team. You will be responsible for delivering innovative and creative appeals as well as supporting the fundraisers responsible for in-memory and donor acquisition to achieve their targets and objectives. 

Individual Giving is a growing income stream for Birmingham Hospice, and this have been recognised by the Executive Team who are investing in this area, in particular regular giving and legacies.

Trusts and Foundations Manager

The Trusts and Foundations Manager with be responsible for the ongoing management of the current successful high-value portfolio ranging from £2m commitments to £100k grants. In addition to ensuring the current portfolio is expertly stewarded with the aim of renewing and uplifting existing funders, the role will also be responsible for expanding the portfolio, focusing on both the national programme and the individual pathfinders projects in the longer term.

The Trusts and Foundations Manager with not have any direct line management reports in order to focus their time on fundraising but will work closely with The Manager will take a relationship-based approach to our funding partnership, working directly with grantors to create impactful propositions and proposals to support Thrive at Five’s strategic priorities. The successful applicant will develop and manage a detailed prospect pipeline managed through our database, to ensure we make the very best of opportunities, in addition to new partnerships being identified and scoped.

The role will involve collaboration and coordination across the organization, both to keep abreast of the latest information for grantors, but also to bring key stakeholders and experts into discussions and partnerships as and when necessary to further develop and strengthen relationships. colleagues, providing coaching, support and advice on the lower-level trust portfolio on a regular basis.

Hybrid (1-2 days per week in our London office and the rest of the week working from home – with occasional national travel to our local sites) 

Our preference is a 5 day a week, 35 hours per week role. However, we will consider excellent candidates who are available 4 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning

• Work with the Head of Fundraising to further develop the long-term fundraising strategy working to maximise multi-year partnerships from like-minded funders
• Manage the annual planning processes for Trusts and Foundations, prioritising meaningful engagement and stewardship opportunities for new and existing funders
• Work closely with the Director of Finance on the annual budget and monthly forecasts

Portfolio Management

• Manage the existing portfolio of c. 25 active multi-year grants ranging from £100k-£2m, providing excellent and timely reporting in addition to creative and impactful ongoing stewardship. The existing funders’ interests will be split across our national programme and regional pathfinders (currently Stoke-on-Trent and Redcar and Cleveland, with discussions underway in Middlesborough and Scotland).
• Regularly communicate with those in the portfolio on a 1:1 basis, working with senior stakeholders directly as and when necessary to maximise opportunities including Trustees, Advisory Board Members, Senior Leadership Team (‘SLT’) and the CEO
• Organise and attend programme visits to pathfinder locations as and when necessary to strengthen partnerships with grantors, long term in addition to regular face to face funder meetings
• Support the delivery of cultivation and stewardship events for prospects, funders and connectors, cross the country

Prospect Research and Pipeline Management

• Manage a portfolio of c.30 warm and cold prospects, to create bespoke cultivation opportunities, engage in fact-finding discussions, and submit detailed concept notes and proposals as relationships develop. The aim is for the existing portfolio of active funders to double over the next two years through a rigorous prospect engagement programme
• Focus on constant movement and momentum within the trusts and foundations pipeline, continuously researching new prospects, and network mapping contacts across the organisations to explore new avenues of support for both the national programme and the pathfinder projects
• Proactively engage with the grant making community with a shared interested in early years development by attending sector specific events and opportunities, and in addition to those focused on pathfinder areas such as Scottish grantmakers or those focused on the Northwest of England.

Processes and Systems

• Champion data excellence across fundraising by utilising the Raiser Edge database, ensuring it is the up-to-date centralised data management system for all prospects, funders, events and communications
• Provide regular reports to the Head of Fundraising and SLT on movement within the grants pipeline including chances of success
• Support the management of the lower-level grants portfolio, taking a coaching approach and sharing your expertise widely

This vacancy involves a unique opportunity to be the Sex Worker ISVA Learning and Policy Influencing Lead  of an exciting new regional partnership program alongside National Ugly Mugs and POW (Notthingham) funded by the National Lottery Communities Fund. Based with Basis Yorkshire, this role will lead on influencing of policy and sharing of learning from this program to improve outcomes for sex workers who have experienced sexual violence including developing resources, organising events and sharing learning based on data from the program as well as working with those with lived experience and those in government and other authorities who help shape health and justice systems. About the Role

In this strategic post as the Community and Business Development Manager for Essex you will play a key role in overseeing our existing work and also contributing to the development of future work within the region. You will directly manage the delivery of our community based projects, specifically the Heart of Greenstead and VCS capacity building, liaising closely with all key partners involved in the work, and representing the organisation in a wide range of system settings. You will play a vital role to ensure that the organisation’s contractual obligations and goals are achieved by collaborating with communities and partner organisations in the design and delivery of interventions to promote active citizenship. You will co-produce with local communities in order to achieve sustainable outcomes by bringing people together to be better connected and networked.

You will need to work collaboratively and influence effectively across multiple agendas, to maintain an overview of engagement and impact whilst seeking to maximise opportunities for partnership development. We are looking for an individual that demonstrates clear leadership and the ability to influence and persuade across multiple disciplines and arenas.

Main Duties

1. Responsible for building strong relationships and developing working partnerships across a wide range of local stakeholders with the aim of developing new business opportunities in conjunction with the Regional Manager.

2. To plan, develop and deliver high quality programmes, projects and interventions and ensuring all are in line with the overall strategy and objectives of the organisation and that meet contractual obligations.

3. To work closely with the funding team and the regional manager to develop new funding bids in line with opportunities created through partnerships and business development.

4. Manage the operational delivery and development of a range of funded programmes with a focus on collaborating with communities and partner organisations in the design and delivery to promote active citizenship. Ensure within this that agreed outcomes are met in full.

5. Manage and monitor the budget with finance representatives from TAWS and support the relationship management with existing funders and the identification of potential new funders.

6. Devise, understand and use asset-based community development approaches to community development and work with communities to understand priorities and co-design initiatives. Ensure that delivery mitigates or removes the barriers to participation.

7. Keep abreast of new and emergent thinking across wellbeing, community development and tackling inequalities as well as innovation and leadership in this field of work. Work collaboratively with partners from across the area to develop new innovation and interventions in line with the emergent opportunities.

8. Play a key role in monitoring and evaluation plans, through collecting, analysing and sharing data (quantitative and qualitative) working with the TAWS Data & Insight team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experiences

1. Good communication skills and engagement with communities with proven previous community engagement and delivery experience

2. Awareness of funding opportunities with experience of project and bid development as well as Experience in sub-contractor management

3. Experience in facilitation and training, providing advice and guidance and consultancy experience

Key Responsibilities

Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.

Relationship management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre

Church Community

• The Spear Coach is directly employed by Citizen Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
• Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within Citizen Church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation
• Other ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.

The Energy Neighbours Information and Data Manager is responsible for setting up and managing the systems that enable all staff and organisations involved in the project to gather and use information and data. Information and Data Manager works with the Project Manager to make good use of staff and partners time through excellent information systems.

The Energy Neighbours Information and Data Manager ensures the whole team has the information and data systems they need to engage and support residents and community organisations – and be accountable to partners and funders. The Information and Data Manager ensures information and data is secure, up to date and used to improve and develop the project.

The aim is that the project starts in February 2025.

The Energy Neighbours project has a clear community capacity-building approach, aiming to work inclusively with communities and community organisations, listening to local priorities, experimenting and learning together, being transparent and accountable and sharing decision-making.

The project will help more community buildings and homes to be more energy efficient, by providing expertise, training, volunteering and sharing learning.  Energy Neighbours supports and funds organisation development, community activities, volunteering, community business and partnership development, helping communities have a stronger voice and more capacity to impact on their priorities and concerns.

The new Energy Neighbours team includes a Project Manager, Project Coordinator and an Information and Data Manager. These three posts support four Community Energy Development Workers who work with community organisations and residents in priority areas of Kirklees.  The project partners include the Kirklees Climate Commission, local experts on energy and independent evaluation support.
