Bounce Back for Kids (BB4K) is a lifeline for children healing from the trauma of domestic abuse. Sadly, the demand for our programme continues to rise. We supported 223 families in 2023 through individual and group therapeutic support sessions.

The Admissions Officer will join the Postgraduate Studies department in our Education and Training division. The VCSE Strategic Lead for Living Well and Wider Wellbeing is an exciting new role that will be focused on ensuring that the VCSE sector has voice and influence so that Salford people are supported to live well, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing.

The role will be aligned with Salford’s Living Well programme and the city’s Mental Health Collaborative. These are the cornerstones of the design and development of innovative solutions to adult mental health provision in the City. As well as the alignment with Living Well, the lead will also focus on creative health, placed-based working, and physical activity.

The Strategic Lead will work across a broad spectrum of VCSE and public sector partners that design, commission, or deliver activities and services that support the Mental Health and Wellbeing of Salfordians. This spectrum includes NHS Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust, Salford City Council, START, Mind in Salford, Salford Community Leisure, Salford Sport, and Physical Activity Alliance.

The Strategic Lead will play a key role in ensuring that there is collaborative working and effective communication within Living Well. This also includes key stakeholders, strategic partners in Salford, Local Authority, VCSE, and NHS organisations.

Living Well

Living Well is an innovative new service created and delivered by a partnership between START, Mind (Salford), Six Degrees, and Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust. A multi-agency team, collaborating to provide positive, humanistic, and safe experiences for those experiencing poor mental health who are unable to meet the threshold for community mental health services.

This post requires an enhanced level DBS check.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate extensive experience of building multi-sectoral partnerships and relationships, as well as having outstanding communication skills. They will also have a clear understanding of the VCSE sector, preferably in Salford, and mental health and wellbeing context across Greater Manchester.

Dementia UK has entered into an exciting three-year corporate partnership with a national partner to bring face-to-face Admiral Nursing to the high street at locations across the UK.

As part of the national Clinics Programme Team, you will provide in-person biopsychosocial support and advice, sharing your specialist dementia nursing expertise to help families manage the complexities of the condition. Terms

- Although the job is mainly remote, travel within London is required with occasional travel across the UK.

Established in 2013, the United Kingdom and Europe World Literacy Foundation have been dedicated to building strong communities through literacy and education. In 2018, UK Reads was introduced to provide literacy support through distributing books and resources nationwide while delivering author-led workshops to children to inspire the next generation of readers who lacked resources and opportunities to develop and excel. Additionally, UK Reads works to facilitate a global pen pal project, inspiring young writers and offering them a platform to connect, fostering cultural awareness and enhancing writing skills.

Our Projects: 

We currently focus on disadvantaged children and young people aged 5-18 years. Approximately 85% of our beneficiaries come from low-income families, and over 10% are students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)—a number that is steadily increasing—reflecting the diverse range of learners we aim to support. We also support a significant number of minority children and young people, making it crucial to promote inclusivity and address potential disparities in literacy outcomes through our work.

We acknowledge that low literacy rates vary throughout the UK and are committed to reaching the most underserved, underrepresented, and marginalised children, young people, and families. We collaborate with schools and community organisations to implement tailored interventions that address the specific needs of each group, offering a diverse range of services to expedite the development of foundational literacy skills.

The role

We are seeking an exceptional Associate Director of Programme and Impact to join the Centre for Early Childhood senior leadership team. Reporting to the Centre’s Executive Director, and working closely with Royal Foundation and Kensington Palace teams, you will play a key role in designing and implementing our ambitious programme of work to drive action on the extraordinary impact of early childhood.

You will combine optimistic and creative leadership, with a rigorous, collaborative and hands-on approach, to support the delivery of existing programmes and the design of new ideas from concept to launch. This will involve working with stakeholders from right across the system around children and the adults in their lives, including health, education, business, and voluntary and community sectors.

The role requires cross-sector experience, broad subject-matter expertise, and an ability to make sense of a complex evidence and policy landscape for a range of audiences - to support strategic decision-making and prioritisation, as well as to ensure the quality of our day-to-day work. You will provide sound counsel to internal and senior stakeholders, and be a trusted, credible voice when engaging externally.

You will provide expert oversight of the Centre’s research plans and activities, ensuring our programme of work is evidence-informed and that we can evaluate our impact. You will be adept at taking a brief and working with a range of perspectives to develop high impact programmes and products, and skilled in leading cross-functional teams to deliver to the highest quality. From supporting the design and delivery of creative campaigns and engaging events, to developing impactful partnerships and initiatives, you will bring energy, creativity and grip to ensure the success and impact of our work.

As our Design & Youth Insight Lead, you will lead a small Research & Design team, making sure our services that support Young People have maximum positive impact for every pound spent. You will bring Design expertise to the wider Programme Development team, ensure all design work is informed by Youth Insight and take a lead on designing services that impact the end to end journey for Young People.
