We are seeking a Risk and Internal Audit Manager to lead our risk management and internal audit initiatives. This critical role involves developing a robust risk management framework, conducting thorough internal audits, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of humanitarian issues and standards, including codes of conduct and accountability principles, and possess a working knowledge of French or Spanish. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders are essential.

About you

You are a highly skilled professional with a Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIA) certification or a full CCAB qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA). Your extensive experience in risk management and internal audit, particularly within an international NGO or a similar environment, equips you with the necessary expertise to excel in this role. You are a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels. Your analytical prowess and problem-solving abilities, combined with your self-motivation and proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, set you apart.

About the role

As the Risk and Internal Audit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in fortifying our organisation by overseeing both risk management and internal audit operations. You will develop and manage CARE International UK’s risk management framework, maintain and update the organisation’s risk register, and provide regular risk management reports. You will also develop and execute an annual internal audit plan, ensuring compliance with recognised auditing standards. Your role involves coordinating with various CARE entities and overseeing specialist audits in areas like cybersecurity and GDPR. International travel will be required to support CARE International UK funded programmes.

A big focus of the role is prioritisation and planning, so you’ll support the Director of Programmes, Head of Impact & Effectiveness and wider team to prioritise, forward plan, manage diaries and prepare for meetings. This is a great role for someone wanting to develop their administrative experience and exposure to board and executive level working. You will have responsibility for supporting a Trustee level grant making committee. You’ll get exposure to the strategic overview of the Charity and insight into managing teams, grant-making and charity operations. Maudsley Charity works primarily with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, as well as a range of voluntary and community organisations to fund ideas, big and small, that drive service improvement and support people who experience mental illness.

We are seeking an operational and people focussed Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our Executive Team. You will drive development of all financial and operational management, processes and reporting, overseeing the organisation’s day-to-day operations including the leadership of Finance, People, Governance, Fundraising, Marketing and Communications and Digital.

The successful candidate will have held broad finance and operations positions, with a track record of interacting at Board level and presenting clear financial and management information. Whilst you don’t have to be financially qualified, we do need someone with strong financial acumen and demonstrable ability to monitor, interpret and communicate financial information effectively. You will have experience in implementing new and/or successful improvements to existing systems and processes, with a track record of driving organisational change. The post holder will have a good understanding of regulation and best practice alongside the ability to develop efficient processes and controls in line with our governance framework. Ensuring that people are at the centre of the Florence Nightingale Foundation (FNF) you will play a key role within the Executive team supporting the charity to achieve sustainable growth and delivery of efficient and effective services ensuring plans are developed and implemented, and targets are met.

Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility

Operational Leadership and Governance

• Overall accountability for the operations of the foundation
• Oversee and optimise internal processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity

Financial Management

• Support the Finance Manager and Executive team in setting FNF’s annual budget, with robust analysis and justification of intended expenditure, financial forecasts, cashflow etc. securing active engagement and ownership from all internal budget holders
• Oversee the financial reports required to review progress against plans and forecasts throughout the year and ensuring these are disseminated and understood across the organisation
• Accountable for regular financial updates to Trustees including the Finance Investment Committee (FIC) and Board meetings along with the preparation of the financial aspects of the annual report and accounts
• Oversee the management and development of VAT reporting for FNF and trading subsidiary
• Oversee the financial aspect of FNF Global delivery to ensure compliance with HMRC

Systems and controls

• Lead in the development, implementation and monitoring of effective procurement systems and procedures, ensuring that FNF achieves best value and drives efficiencies through our external contracts
• Lead on the annual audit in accordance with current practice and the Charity Commissions Standard of Recommended Practice (SORP), liaising and managing the relationship with the auditors

Having operated at a senior level, ideally as part of a Senior Leadership Team, you will be an inspiring leader with a demonstrable passion for our cause.  Experienced in successfully managing service transformation and development, including in a contact centre environment, you will also have an understanding of grants programmes, and of building strategic partnerships and national networks.  With an understanding of demonstrating and reporting on impact, experience of supporting fundraising for services and bidding for contracts, you will ideally also have knowledge of developing an external training offer.

Associate Director Commercial

Salary: £70 - £80k

Role purpose

We are looking for a Commercial Senior Manager / Associate Director to drive the next phase of the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS). The NILS pilot has already lent over £10 million to more than 13,000 financially vulnerable people, demonstrating the positive impact of affordable credit. This is a unique opportunity to lead a multi-million-pound programme through its final stages and oversee its strategic scaling for long-term sustainability.

The scheme is currently funded by HM Treasury, JP Morgan, and Fair4All Finance. We are looking for an experienced senior lead with a background in both commercial delivery and business case development, fluent in working with the public sector, mainstream finance, and civil society to oversee the final stages of the pilot delivery and to take charge of scaling up NILS.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) Programme: Oversee the final delivery phase of the NILS pilot, with the Programme Delivery Manager

· Develop the Business Case: Build the long-term commercial model and business case for NILS, identifying sustainable funding solutions and influencing senior stakeholders

· Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with key partners

· Scaling and Expansion: Work with financial services providers to expand NILS beyond the pilot

· Product Innovation: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to adapt and improve the NILS product

· Dissemination and Reporting: Share lessons learned from the pilot

· People Management: Lead the Programme Delivery Manager, providing strategic oversight

 

Beyond NILS

You will also work across other propositions to improve financial resilience for over 20 million people in the UK. This will include testing new products and services designed to meet the needs of financially vulnerable individuals.

About you

You will have a strong background in financial services, commercial delivery, and business case development, with proven experience leading large, multi-stakeholder programmes.

Essential Experience and Skills

· Extensive experience in stakeholder management

· Strong background in financial services, particularly consumer-facing products and their commercial delivery

· Expertise in business case development and commercial modelling for social impact initiatives

· Fluency in contractual management and supplier management

· Experience collaborating with investment professionals and structuring financial services that require lending capital

· People management experience

Desirable Experience

· Experience working with the public sector or civil service and an understanding of state aid / subsidy and procurement considerations

· Familiarity with economic and social impact cases for public interventions

Many children fall behind with reading simply because they lack the opportunity to practise: we work to ensure that every child has 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most. Chapter One’s unique, online, reading support programme pairs struggling 5 to 8 year olds in over 11 areas of the UK with over 3000 volunteers who are recruited from a range of local and national businesses.

We are seeking a proactive, energetic and enthusiastic Corporate Partnerships Officer to be an integral part of a team which aims to both maximise corporate income and deliver an excellent partner experience. This is an opportunity for an early career professional to learn about charity-business partnerships in a dynamic, small charity which is flexible and agile. 

Reporting to our Corporate Partnerships Manager, but also working closely with our Business Development Manager, you’ll support them both to deliver our annual volunteer targets and maintain our strong partner retention rate (currently 88%).
