The role

We are recruiting for a Head of Finance to be responsible for delivering a high quality Finance service to the charity.   You will provide accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting to assist with the organisation’s decision making and ensure that robust financial controls are in place in order to ensure the charity can meet its various compliance requirements.  You will also be responsible for the management and development of a small finance team.

About you

You will be a CCAB qualified accountant with previous experience of working in senior finance roles. You will have excellent technical accounting, payroll and tax knowledge, coupled with an ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.   You will be used to working to deadlines and have the ability to act on your own initiative, prioritising tasks effectively in order to meet the needs of the organisation.

Apollo Music Projects is a dynamic and successful music education charity, dedicated to bringing live classical music to children who might not otherwise experience it. Since 2004, more than 18,000 children have experienced the magic of live performance through our programmes from classroom to concert hall, culminating in the thrilling spectacle of a full orchestra in concert.

We are looking for a Finance Officer to join our team, to manage our day-to-day finance and bookkeeping activities, as well as to work closely with the team regarding budgeting, and annual submission of the Annual Reports and Accounts.The Finance Officer will also play an important role as part of this small but passionate team in the operations of the charity, from fundraising through to delivery of the programme in the schools.This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a part in helping to shape the charity’s growth and expansion plans.

We are looking for an organised, enterprising and personable individual, passionate about the arts and about creating opportunities for children from a range of backgrounds to listen to and appreciate the magic of live music. This post requires someone who is able to take a high degree of responsibility, and is confident working independently, as this person will for the most part be working remotely. You will have excellent organisational skills, and a high level of precision in financial processes and bookkeeping.

The role will be mainly remote, with regular staff meetings and additional meetings with the CEO or other staff members in central London, and attendance at annual strategy days and some workshops and concerts, and may from time to time entail working outside of office hours.

Key responsibilities include:

·Bookkeeping including recording income and expenses, and other financial transactions

·Processing of invoices and payments to musicians, staff, schools and other external suppliers

·Draft annual organisational budgets and forecasting with the CEO and Treasurer

·Carry out monthly reconciliations and the preparation of monthly financial update reports to the Treasurer

·Prepare quarterly reports for trustees’ board meetings including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cashflows

·Monitoring of restricted funding

·Developing and maintaining accounting systems; and working closely with the Treasurer to develop new systems where required

·Working closely with the Fundraising Officer regarding fundraising applications and budgets, both general and specific to individual applications;

·Preparation of annual accounts and support with end of year Independent Examination

·Maintaining and improving financial and fundraising spreadsheets;

·      Running end-to-end monthly payroll.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

·relevant experience in a finance administration role, ideally including book-keeping, payroll, and monthly/annual reporting for a small business or charity’;

The Photographers’ Gallery is seeking a permanent Finance Officer to join them in a newly created role at a time of growth and transformation.

The Photographers’ Gallery explores how photography is connecting, captivating and radically changing our world today. The Gallery’s programme and spaces – from exhibitions, talks, workshops and digital platforms to the café, shop and galleries – all explore the beauty, complexity, and future of photography. With over 240,000 visitors annually, The Gallery is a key attraction within the arts and culture sector in the heart of London.

A newly created role to support in the growth of the organisation, the Finance Officer role is a pivotal position within the finance and wider team. As Finance Officer you will play an important part in creating a robust and innovative financial service delivery to TPG and TPGE staff. You will support with day-to-day financial transactions and a range of accounting tasks in liaison with the Finance Manager, Head of Finance, and wider non-finance stakeholders.

A summary of key duties is as below:

• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Maintain the sales ledger and all receipts and income
• Reconcile all TPGE Bank accounts monthly.
• Reconcile Balance sheet ledger control accounts monthly.
• Process invoices, payments and receipts.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
• Assist with month-end, quarterly and year-end financial reporting.
• Support the Finance Manager in payroll processing and reports.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders

About You

• You will have experience of working in a finance department and of undertaking sales and purchase ledger duties
• Candidates will likely be AAT qualified or studying towards a CCAB qualification. Alternatively, you may hold an accounting and finance degree or equivalent.

The Role

Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in leading the finance function. The Head of Finance reports to the Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) and is responsible for the ensuring the smooth day to day operations of the finance function, including maintaining and ensuring accuracy of organisation's financial records, supporting all financial strategies and financial operations. They are responsible for all accounting, financial reporting and budgeting functions of the organisation, and with guidance ensures the organisation adheres to relevant regulatory and accounting principles. They work closely with the DFO to manage information exchange, integration and collaboration with our US sister organisation.  Playing a vital role in the finance function they ensure accurate financial data capture and high-quality financial reporting while driving automation and efficiency across financial processes. They will work closely and collaboratively with budget holders, particularly in programs and philanthropic partnerships teams, providing them with meaningful financial insight and advice.

They will also play a key role in understanding and managing program/project funding (both restricted and unrestricted) and collaborate with the Programme Funding Manager ensuring effective tracking of restricted and unrestricted income and expenditure within GGF.

The ability to leverage Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks and other financial tools (policies, processes and software) will be crucial in optimising our financial systems and improving processes.

The candidate profile.

The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, social justice, feminist, gender, human rights organisation, and/or grant-making organisation. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced finance professional with a relevant accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or AAT) experience in the charity or non-profit sector. They will value transparency and accountability, demonstrating strong critical thinking and, strategic risk management. They will have a deep understanding of UK GAAP accounting principles and a strong background in financial management, including budgeting, financial controls, grant processing, and audit preparation. Proficiency in financial systems, particularly QuickBooks Advanced or similar accounting software, as well as advanced Excel skills, is essential. The candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritising workloads in a fast-paced and evolving environment. With a proven ability to oversee financial processes, implement automation strategies, and manage treasury functions, they will also be confident in providing financial insights and risk assessments to senior leadership. Experience working in an international organisation and knowledge of exchange rate risk management would be advantageous. They also thrive in a virtual environment, motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions. Multiple language skills would be ideal, while English fluency is a must.

And have strategic ownership of the income generation programme, including income-related activities and KPIs within the engagement calendar, and customer experience and journeys relating to financial supporters

You will be responsible for the implementation and day to day project management of the individual giving programme across our existing and new fundraising products, including our regular giving F2F activity, tribute funds and appeals programme.  As part of a small individual giving team you will be working under the direction and authorisation of the Head of Individual Giving.

The Individual Giving team is responsible for income generation from individual supporters and members, using a range of direct marketing techniques via both online and offline channels. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation of Mothers’ Union’s fundraising strategy as defined by the annual Individual Giving fundraising budget and plan.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Events and Stewardship Manager, to manage the planning, delivery  and evaluation of high impact  events and stewardship initiatives that engage and inspire prospects, donors and our partners: 

• Events: Taking a proactive approach to project management, this role will have responsibility for delivering a range of events across our global event portfolio. These events underpin Mission 44’s fundraising goals, especially for HNWI and corporate audiences. 

• Stewardship: As part of the fundraising team, the post-holder will deliver exceptional support and experiences for our current donors including production of impact-focused reports,  personalised communications and moments that build community for Mission 44’s growing donor base. 

It is expected the role will have a  60:40 split between events management and stewardship activities.  This role is ideal for a skilled planner, exceptional collaborator, and a strong writer, capable of supporting the delivery of exceptional donor experiences, stewardship communications, progress reports and materials that showcase Mission 44’s impact. It is worth noting whilst Mission 44’s events portfolio is global, this role will have minimal international travel. 

Key Responsibilities

Special Events Management 

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of global events within Mission 44’s portfolio, including donor and prospect dinners, trackside activations and flagship fundraising galas.

• Lead on core event logistics plans, including venue searches, supplier contracting, building of accurate run of shows and production schedules for multi-day events. 

• Produce quality briefing materials for event participants, staff, trustees, donors and impact partners. 

• Support the wider Fundraising team with securing sponsorship, ticket sales, and securing auction items. This includes production of targeted collateral for outreach. 

• Produce quality and timely evaluation for events activities that capture key learnings, recommendations and event ROI. 

• Work closely with the Fundraising Data and Operations Manager to ensure that events and stewardship data is updated in a accurately and timely manner to our CRM system (Virtuous). 

• Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure events materials are aligned with brand and messaging. 

Stewardship: Donor Communications and Reporting 

• Deliver exceptional donor experiences, including impact-focused reports,  personalised communications, and bespoke touch-points with impact partners and the Mission 44 team. 

• Oversee the preparation and submission of specific donor reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with donor guidelines and grant agreements. 

• Manage select bespoke stewardship projects which strengthen relationships with donors especially our corporate partners

• Work closely with our Impact and Finance teams to gather data, track progress, and strengthen internal reporting processes. 

• Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure that donor communications are consistent with our brand and messaging.

• Maintain accurate records of donor and partner interactions using our CRM system (Virtuous).

About the role 

We The Curious is about to enter an exciting new phase in its mission to connect and empower everyone through shared creative science learning experiences. It is nearly a year since we reopened and as we enter our 25th Anniversary Year there is lots to celebrate and talk about with our new multi-year strategy, Plan 2030 which encompasses numerous major projects for which we must develop and cultivate support. 

The Development Team is responsible for fundraising across the whole organisation and the stewardship and development of our donors and supporters. The other members of the team are the Development Manager, the Gifts and Partnerships Manager and Development Account Manager. We are looking for a Trusts and Foundations Manager who is collaborative, organised and an excellent communicator to join the team to help us maximise and unlock some very exciting fundraising opportunities. 

As Trusts and Foundations Manager you will use your skills in research and persuasion to identify grants funding opportunities, establish new relationships and write and submit proposals to trusts, foundations, Lottery funders, the local authority, universities and research councils. Working closely with the rest of the team and project managers from other departments you will raise between six and seven figure sums for our programme of creative science learning and inclusion projects.

What will you do in this role? 

Role specific responsibilities 

_Identify new grants funding sources, including trusts and foundations, research councils and statutory/government funders.

_Prepare and submit high quality funding proposals, expressions of interest and budgets in accordance with strict deadlines and application criteria, to a diverse range of funders, for up to seven-figure sums.

_Work closely with internal departmental teams to develop We The Curious projects so that they are ready for fundraising and write detailed and compelling cases for support that include timelines, budgets and evaluation and reporting plans.

_Support the funding applications of other partner organisations by collaboratively drafting budgets, attending project development meetings and writing letters of support.

_Support the Development Account Manager to cultivate potential funders, including attending on-site visits and events, phone calls and delivering presentations to secure support.

_Support the Development Account Manager to manage a portfolio of funders including overseas relationships, fulfilling reporting and public recognition requirements, thank you letters, regular communications and other correspondence.

_Liaise with the finance team to record new income and report on expenditure in accordance with funder deadlines.   

_Support the Gifts and Partnerships Manager and Development Manager in identifying new strategic opportunities and exploring new types of income stream. This may include presenting to the leadership team. Contribute to the delivery of the fundraising strategy, including proposing financial targets for grants, lottery and research income.

_Work closely with the Open City Research (OCR) Manager to identify and pursue new funding opportunities for our ambitious OCR programme and work with the finance team to establish a new funding model for this activity. Support the Gifts and Partnerships Manager and Sustainability and Science Director in cultivating high-value stakeholders in STEM and research sectors.

_Assist in the implementation of the Development Team’s migration onto a new CRM database working closely with the Development Account Manager to customise the database for the Development team’s needs. 

_Work with the finance team to understand our financial position and as requested by the Finance Director, contributing to key organisational financial documentation, such as the annual business plan. 

_Manage Fundraising Volunteers supporting the administrative workload of the team and attend Volunteer Key Contacts meetings.

_Attend and occasionally present at We The Curious staff meetings, exhibition launches, project meetings, project development presentations and meetings as required.

The role
 
This is an exciting role, to liaise and support partner organisations to ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and up to date, coded correctly on UH’s cashbooks and reconciled against bank statements. You will also provide technical support to partners’ finance staff and train them on the use of the cashbooks and financial reporting to UH.
 
You will be educated to degree level and have experience in a fast-paced and complex finance role. You should have experience of working with technical accounting packages as well as experience in financial planning and monitoring.
 
The role is fast-paced and complex, and the ideal candidate will need to have proven inter-personal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to assess priorities, organise workloads and initiate action and problem solve.
