INEW and the purpose of the network
INEW members engage in research, policy and advocacy to promote greater understanding of the issues that arise from the use of explosive weapons in populated areas, and concrete steps that can be taken to address it. INEW member organisations develop partnerships calling for improved government policy and operational practice at a national level, and work together to develop stronger standards internationally. This includes efforts to advance universalisation and implementation of the Political Declaration on Strengthening the Protection of Civilians from the Humanitarian Consequences Arising from the Use of Explosive Weapons in Populated Areas, the first formal international recognition that the use of explosive weapons in populated areas is the leading cause of civilian casualties in armed conflict, and that this must be addressed urgently and directly.
Many INEW member organisations work in countries affected by explosive violence – providing development assistance, documenting the impact of violence, assisting the victims of explosive weapons and clearing landmines, unexploded ordnance and improvised explosive devices. See our current members.
Requirements:

Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience. Such as working with coordination, institutional governance or administration, diplomacy, international policy and law, or campaigning.

Responsibilities:
Leadership and Coordination

Collaborate and work closely with the INEW Steering Committee and sub-committees.

Facilitate network meetings, promotion of positive working relations amongst the INEW members, staff and the wider INEW network.

Develop coalition strategies and action plans and facilitate communication within the INEW network.

Manage INEW programme of activities (calendar of global events and INEW’s engagement in those.

Develop INEW’s multi-year strategic plans to guide the network in setting its objectives, with staff and membership input and INEW Steering Committee approval;

Lead the implementation of strategy, including through the development of advocacy and communication work plans.

Ensure INEW produces high quality and relevant written content including advocacy briefs.
Lobbying and advocacy

Represent INEW (as appropriate) in the media, at conferences and in other fora.

Staff management

Financial management and donor liaison

Develop a funding strategy to ensure income is maintained, and that the donor base and levels of support for core costs and projects increases.

Establish and maintain positive relations with donors, including governments and private foundations.

Ensure that INEW complies with all legal and financial regulations.

Ensure that funding proposals and budgets are produced and submitted.

Ensure expenditure is controlled in line with budgets and that risks are identified and managed.

Effective management of donor contracts, oversight of grant cycles to ensure timely preparation and submission of reports and proposals.

Location: Flexible location/work from home, with a preference for Europe because frequent travel to Geneva is required.
Travel: This post will require some travel (monthly), but most work will be remote. INEW will cover travel costs.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
As the Practitioner Psychologist/Psychotherapist delivering the partnership with the British Red Cross you will be based in two BRC Refugee Support services in Leicester and Derby whilst remaining part of the Helen Bamber Foundation Team. You will be responsible, with support from the senior Helen Bamber Foundation clinical team, for delivering assessments of individuals referred by the BRC Senior Psychosocial Practitioner. You will support effective referrals into local mental health services, and, where treatment cannot be provided elsewhere and would have significant benefits, deliver a range of therapeutic interventions to a small number of BRC clients. You will provide and support outreach and training of local health care providers to increase their capacity to support trauma survivors.
This role will include delivery of highly specialised psychological assessments for both medico-legal and clinical purposes, provision of appropriate evidence-based therapies, delivery of training to local mental health providers as well as to staff from non-clinical backgrounds who have significant client contact, internal relationship and partnership building, monitoring of outcomes, and potentially the supervision of a trainee clinical psychologist on a final year specialist placement. The role will include input into partnership development, policy, research and fundraising.
We are looking for someone who is committed to working therapeutically with individuals who have experienced human rights abuses and who have developed trauma spectrum disorders as a result. In addition to proven experience in working therapeutically with this client group, the candidate will have a passion for human rights work beyond the individual client work, and a desire to contribute to effecting change at a policy level. This role requires the ability to react and respond creatively and appropriately to the needs of the service and the partnership. You will be required to travel to London occasionally to participate in meetings, professional development and other activities (this travel will be reimbursed).
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide specialist psychological assessments and deliver psychological therapies to clients of the BRC Refugee Support services in Leicester and Derby (and where approved other services in the East Midlands);
· Contribute to the monitoring of activity and outcomes from the partnership;
· Work closely with the BRC Senior Psychosocial Practitioner to develop training and outreach for the local mental health providers and where appropriate the BRC Refugee Support service teams;
· Train in the preparation of medico-legal reports and contribute to the preparation of these reports for clients of the East Midlands BRC Refugee Support services;
· Develop and carry out audits and research projects relevant to the Helen Bamber Foundation or the partnership (in collaboration with the BRC Senior Psychological Practitioner and the Director of Therapy and Executive Director of Clinical and Counter-Trafficking);
· Provide internal and external training in collaboration with the HBF clinical management team;
· Supervise junior staff; and
· Liaise with other non-statutory and statutory organisations on matters of clinical care and policy.
· Where applicable, contribute to policy and position statements with other members of the Helen Bamber Foundation and the British Red Cross and represent the partnership at conferences and other events.

What can we offer you?
The salary band for this role is £62,000 - £68,000 per annum, dependent on relevant skills and experience.

MAIN DUTIES
1.Being first point of contact for new business client enquiries, responding to messages from new clients and scheduling sales consultations with prospective clients. This includes acting on new referrals for paid service consultations within 24 hours, gaining the client's trust, identifying and advising on the best service to meet the client’s needs from initial assessment of their situation, and promoting confidence in Beacon and our ability to meet the client’s needs.
2.Liaising with relevant health trusts, care providers and other organisations to support the facilitation of assessments, as part of a new business request.
3. Providing operational support to Business Development Manager, including taking telephone enquiries from clients and arranging sales consultations. Supporting the Business Development Manager with sales consultations during holidays and at peak periods.
4.Drafting and sending detailed estimates to prospective clients following initial consultations and following up to close the sale.
5.Establishing a rapport with prospective clients, utilising Beacon’s reputation within the industry to generate business and maintaining excellent communication throughout the sales journey.
6.Managing the case allocation process including responsibility for ensuring cases are allocated in a timely way according to case deadlines.
7.Generating and sending out contracts and associated paperwork, and processing completed contracts for clients engaging in a paid service. Liaising with caseworkers for a smooth handover of the new case, ensuring that expectations are met and key deadlines understood by the caseworker.
8.Maintaining good communication with colleagues in the Information and Advice team to facilitate the smooth transfer of prospective clients from an advice call to a paid service consultation.
9.To keep relevant and sufficiently detailed case records following each client contact, ensuring that all client information is kept up to date in line with Beacon’s systems and procedures, including data protection policies.
10.Keeping sales data software up to date and producing monthly sales reports for Managing Director.
11.Responsible for the effective operation of client administrative procedures including operating and maintaining database and filing systems.
12.Arranging for the safe and secure transportation of sensitive client files and medical records for caseworkers and clients.
13.Attending line management, supervision and team meetings as appropriate.
14.Provide organisational, administrative and secretarial support to the sales and casework teams as required.

Background Information
NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is the name given to a package of care that some people need to receive due to disability, accident or illness. People who are eligible for CHC have the full cost of their care and residential accommodation funded by the NHS. This relieves families of sometimes astronomical care bills.

- We deliver chargeable representation and casework services in NHS Continuing Healthcare across England;
- We deliver a comprehensive programme of training and consultancy to public, private and third sector organisations, with a particular focus on equipping health and social care practitioners to get it right; and
- We are the chosen supplier for the NHS England-funded national Information & Advice Service for Continuing Healthcare.

Reporting to, and working closely with, the Head of Fundraising and Engagement, the Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Lead will shape and implement innovative strategies, driving growth in philanthropic giving, secure corporate partnerships and obtain critical funding. With a focus on cultivating mutually beneficial, long-term relationships, you’ll craft compelling proposals, develop tailored stewardship plans, and create sponsorship opportunities that inspire ongoing support.
You’ll lead the way in securing multi-year corporate partnerships and nurturing donor relationships to meet ambitious income targets. As a key player in the senior fundraising team, you’ll contribute to strategic planning, represent the charity at events, and champion new approaches to fundraising.
With our newly formed Development Board, the Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Lead will identify and utilise key networks to grow our philanthropic supporter base across corporate and major donor income streams. With strong writing skills, this person will also craft tailored and compelling corporate proposals and trust and foundation applications.
Who are we looking for?
To support our vision and ensure the achievement of ambitious income targets to support children and families affected by neuroblastoma, we are looking for a strategic and results-driven high-value fundraiser to join our team.
We are particularly keen to speak with interested candidates who enjoy cultivating high-value relationships from scratch and stewarding five- and six-figure corporate partnerships, and/or major donor relationships.
Person specification:
- Strategic thinker with significant experience of developing strategic plans to grow and optimise high-value fundraising.
- Expert knowledge of philanthropy fundraising methodology and current philanthropic trends.
- Experience writing successful five/six-figure high-value proposals to corporates and trusts and foundations.
- Good planning and organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple activities with conflicting demands and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to motivate and influence others.
- Demonstrable success in stewarding supporters/donors, corporate partners, and trusts and foundations.
